Traveling to Fiji – COVID-19 Updates

The Republic of Fiji is a gorgeous island country in Melanesia. It’s known for its incredible tract of 330 islands and crystalline water, creating a gorgeous environment and a sought-after travel experience for any tourist.

It’s one of the most developed economies in the Pacific, with a range of amazing mineral wealth through incredible forest, fish and mineral resources.

Of course, as Covid-19 travel restrictions have been put in place to varying degrees the world over, it’s essential to know just how Fiji has implemented COVID travel guidance and limits.

Traveling to Fiji after COVID-19:

Fiji took a proactive approach to closing down tourism in early 2020, and only now is it starting to slowly open back up. For repatriation purposes, the government is allowing pre-approved applicants to travel back to the country,. However, recent rises in cases mean that international and domestic flights between April and May 2021 were put in place, and this is set to continue. It’s an evolving situation, and while flights for the aforementioned purposes are open now, it’s best to check official sources to make sure you have the latest info.

In fact, this is so much the case that the US Embassy is encouraging Americans to contact Fiji immigration directly to have their case assessed. You must provide a negative Covid-19 test and fully pay for 14 days of mandatory quarantine while there.
