Aman's fourth Japanese property brings the brand to Hokkaido's legendary powder — inside a protected reserve facing Mount Yotei.

Aman Niseko is scheduled to open in 2027 on the slopes of Mount Moiwa in Hokkaido — Aman's fourth property in Japan and its first built around skiing since Le Mélézin in Courchevel. The site sits within a protected nature reserve looking across to the perfect volcanic cone of Mount Yotei, adjacent to the quieter Moiwa ski area on the southwestern shoulder of the Niseko United region — home to the most reliable powder snow on earth (an average of 14–15 meters falls each winter).
The design carries particular weight: it is realized from plans by the late Kerry Hill, the architect behind Aman Tokyo, Aman Kyoto, and Amanemu, making the Japan quartet a single architectural body of work. For how it will fit the existing trio, see our Aman Japan journey guide.
The brief positions Aman Niseko as much as a wellness destination as a ski hotel — described as Japan's first full-scale spa and wellness retreat of its kind, with an extensive Aman Spa built around Hokkaido's onsen culture, alongside a deliberately limited collection of suites and 31 Aman Residences blended into the forested slope. Expect ski-in access to Moiwa's lifts and guided gates into Niseko United's side-country, with summer positioning (green-season hiking, Yotei views, Hokkaido's food culture) extending the calendar year-round.
Rates and exact opening dates are unannounced as of mid-2026. Precedent is instructive: Aman Rosa Alpina's 2025 alpine reopening priced from roughly €1,600 per night and sold out its first festive weeks through partner channels — Niseko's global powder demand plus a tiny key count points the same way. First-season inventory and residence sales will reach Aman's preferred partners ahead of public calendars; we update this page as details land.
Niseko is Asia's premier ski destination: consistent deep powder from December through February, lift-served tree runs, night skiing, and an international dining scene unmatched at any Japanese resort. The Moiwa side gives Aman the rare combination of direct access and remove — the same calculation behind Amangiri's desert isolation or Amanyara's reserve coastline.
Until opening, Biirdee builds Hokkaido ski trips around Niseko's existing top-end (Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono and the best private chalets) and pairs them with the open Aman trio — powder week north, then Aman Tokyo or Amanemu's onsen to finish. It is also worth watching the calendar: an Aman Niseko winter pairs naturally with Janu Tokyo for an energetic city bookend.
Aman has announced a 2027 opening, with exact dates unconfirmed as of mid-2026. First-season availability is expected to reach Aman's partner channel before public sale.
On Mount Moiwa in Niseko, Hokkaido, within a protected nature reserve facing Mount Yotei — adjacent to the quieter Moiwa ski area on the edge of the Niseko United region, about 2–2.5 hours from New Chitose Airport (CTS).
Unannounced. Based on recent Aman alpine and Japanese pricing, expect entry rates north of $1,800–2,500 per night, with festive powder weeks well above and 31 Aman Residences sold separately.
Yes — Tokyo, Kyoto, Amanemu, and Janu Tokyo today, plus Niseko from 2027 turns Japan into the deepest Aman country anywhere. The full route is mapped in our Aman Japan guide.
Leave a standing request and Biirdee will hold first-season dates the moment Aman Niseko inventory reaches the partner channel — and build your Hokkaido powder trips brilliantly until then.
