New York's most expensive hotel, explained: what the rate actually buys, when it dips, and how to book it well.

Aman New York, occupying the upper floors of the landmark Crown Building at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, is the most expensive hotel in New York City — and one of the most expensive anywhere. As of 2026, entry-level rooms generally run about $2,400–3,200 per night including taxes and fees, with rates across the suite ladder stretching to $6,700+ per night and signature suites far beyond that. August is typically the softest month; the November–December holiday stretch commands the peak.
Those numbers buy the largest entry-level rooms in Manhattan (from roughly 70 m²), every one with a functioning fireplace — a Manhattan first — plus a 25,000-square-foot, three-floor Aman Spa, two signature restaurants, the subterranean Jazz Club, and Aman's trademark staff density transplanted into Midtown.
Ranges reflect season and date pressure; exact pricing varies by night. Use these as planning bands, current as of mid-2026:
| Category | Approximate nightly rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Premier Room | ~$2,400–3,400 | Entry level; ~70 m², fireplace, deep soaking tub |
| Deluxe / Corner Suite tiers | ~$3,500–5,500 | More space, Central Park or Fifth Avenue angles |
| Premier Suites | ~$5,500–6,700+ | Separate living rooms, marquee views |
| Signature suites | Five figures nightly | Quoted on request; among NYC's priciest keys |
Aman New York's rate carries unusually broad inclusions for a city hotel: a generously stocked non-alcoholic minibar, daily breakfast on many booking channels, house-car service within Midtown subject to availability, and access to the spa's facilities. Booked through a preferred advisor channel, the stay adds a property credit and upgrade priority on top — meaningful at these prices. The arithmetic of channels is covered in how to book Aman hotels.
Budget realistically for the extras that are not included: the Aman Spa's treatments price from several hundred dollars, Arva and Nama are destination restaurants with bills to match, and the Jazz Club is a members-and-guests room where the cocktails are excellent and priced like it.
Against New York's other top suites — the Mark, the Carlyle, Four Seasons — Aman New York is less about location theater and more about insulation: it is the quietest address in Midtown, with the city's most serious hotel spa attached. Guests who measure a hotel by scene and lobby energy sometimes leave underwhelmed; guests who want the Aman hush in the middle of Manhattan tend to consider it singular. Our Aman vs Four Seasons comparison frames the trade-offs.
One more wrinkle: the building also houses the flagship Aman Club, whose members share the restaurants and spa — book treatments and tables ahead, especially on weekends.
As of 2026, entry rooms run roughly $2,400–3,200 per night including taxes and fees, mid-tier suites $3,500–5,500, and top published categories $6,700+. Signature suites are quoted on request.
August is consistently the softest month; deep winter (January–February) also dips. Holiday weeks in November and December are the most expensive of the year.
On preferred-advisor and Amex FHR bookings, daily breakfast for two is included, along with a property credit. Direct bookings include the minibar and house-car privileges but not always breakfast — channel choice matters.
Book an entry Premier Room in August or midwinter through a preferred advisor: you pay the same rate as direct but recover several hundred dollars in breakfast and credits. There are no discount channels — see how to book Aman hotels.
We book the Crown Building at the direct rate and layer on upgrade priority, breakfast, and property credit — then handle your cars, tables, and spa bookings before you land.
