The most photographed resort in America hides in 900 acres of Utah slot-canyon country. Here is what it costs, what is included, and how to do it right.

Amangiri — "peaceful mountain" — sits on 900 protected acres at Canyon Point, southern Utah, twenty-five minutes from Lake Powell and the Arizona line. Opened in 2009, its poured-concrete pavilions are built into the mesa itself; the central pool wraps around a 165-million-year-old rock escarpment. It is, by a comfortable margin, the most requested Aman among American travelers and the property that introduced much of the world to the brand.
The resort is really two resorts: the 34-suite main Amangiri, and Camp Sarika, a separate enclave of ten tented pavilions — each with its own plunge pool — a short buggy ride into the desert. This guide covers both, the real costs, and the booking mechanics. For brand context, see the complete guide to staying at Aman.
Expect nightly rates from roughly $3,700 in the quietest weeks to $9,400+ for top suites in peak season. Unusually for a hotel at this level, the rate includes all three meals daily for two — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — which softens the comparison against other ultra-luxury resorts where food is extra. Alcohol, spa treatments, and guided excursions are billed separately, and the signature adventures (via ferrata, slot-canyon hikes, helicopter access to Tower Butte) add up quickly.
Seasonally, spring (April–May) and fall (September–October) are the desert's glory months and price accordingly; December–January is the value window, with crisp days, occasional dustings of snow on the mesas, and the same suites at the bottom of the band. Camp Sarika's tented pavilions start higher — typically $6,500+ per night — and sleep families comfortably.
| Amangiri (main resort) | Camp Sarika | |
|---|---|---|
| Accommodations | 34 suites in the main stone-and-concrete wings | 10 tented pavilions, 1–2 bedrooms |
| Private pools | Top suites only | Every pavilion has a plunge pool |
| Atmosphere | Architectural, monastic, adults-skewing | Safari-style, family-friendly, more casual |
| Typical 2026 rate | ~$3,700–9,400+ per night, meals included | ~$6,500+ per night, meals included |
| Best for | First visits, design devotees, spa time | Families, groups, privacy maximalists |
The Aman Spa is the largest in the portfolio at 25,000 square feet, built around Navajo-influenced healing traditions, a floatation pavilion, and cold plunge work. Outside, the resort's via ferrata routes — guided cable-climbing up the mesas — are the signature activity, alongside private slot-canyon hikes, horseback rides through the desert, and boat or helicopter days on Lake Powell. Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend are within forty minutes; Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon's North Rim are day-trip range.
Most guests fly into Page, Arizona (15 minutes away) by regional or private flight, or drive 4.5 hours from Las Vegas — a genuinely spectacular road. Biirdee typically arranges the Page connection; it transforms the arrival.
In 2026, roughly $3,700–9,400+ per night depending on suite and season, with all meals for two included. Camp Sarika's tented pavilions start around $6,500 per night. December and January sit at the bottom of the band.
A combination of architecture (the pool wrapped around the rock escarpment is among the most photographed hotel scenes on earth), scarcity (34 suites), and celebrity traffic. It is many travelers' visual shorthand for Aman itself.
Meals, yes — breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included for two guests per suite. Alcohol, spa, and excursions are extra, and the marquee activities (via ferrata, helicopter trips) are priced as premium add-ons.
For spring and fall, 6–12 months; the 34 suites and 10 Sarika pavilions sell out far ahead. Winter dates are far easier and meaningfully cheaper. Booking through a preferred advisor adds a property credit and upgrade priority — see how to book Aman hotels.
Different trips entirely: Amangiri is landscape, adventure, and silence; Aman New York is the brand's urban statement. Amangiri is the better first Aman for most American travelers — the setting does half the work.
Biirdee books Amangiri and Camp Sarika with preferred-partner benefits, arranges the Page flight connection, and pre-books the canyons, via ferrata, and spa before suites sell through.
