Proust wrote here, Chanel lived here, "ritzy" entered the language here. What staying at Place Vendôme actually costs — and how to do it right.

The Ritz Paris is the hotel other hotels are measured against — César Ritz's 1898 original on Place Vendôme, the reason "putting on the Ritz" means anything. After its four-year, reported-€400M renovation (reopened 2016), it is also among the best-run grand hotels on earth: 142 rooms and suites wrapped around a garden the size of a city block, with Bar Hemingway pouring at the back and the world's first Chanel spa below.
It is a member of Leading Hotels of the World — which most guests never realize, and which means Leaders Club benefits (breakfast for two, upgrade requests, points toward free nights) apply to qualifying bookings. At Ritz breakfast prices, that alone is worth real money.
| Category | Approximate nightly rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Superior / Deluxe rooms | ~$2,200–3,000 | Entry tier; smaller but impeccable, garden or Cambon side |
| Executive / Junior Suites | ~$3,500–5,000 | The sweet spot — salon space, Vendôme glimpses |
| Prestige suites | ~$6,000–12,000 | Vendôme-facing grandeur |
| Suites of legend (Chanel, Proust, Windsor…) | Five figures nightly | The most famous hotel rooms in existence; quoted on request |
The compass matters: Vendôme-side rooms carry the address; garden-side rooms carry the quiet (and in summer, the best of Paris). Bar Hemingway seats ~25 and queues form by 17:30 — guests get priority, but go early. The Ritz Club spa's 17-metre pool, frescoed like a Belle Époque bathhouse, is the most beautiful swim in Paris; book treatments ahead. And the École Ritz Escoffier cooking classes are the sleeper experience — a morning making sauces where Escoffier invented them.
Booking strategy is the usual independent-hotel calculus, amplified: rates are identical everywhere, so the channel decides what arrives attached. Leaders Club covers breakfast and an upgrade request; Biirdee's partner relationship adds VIP flagging and credits when available. August and deep winter are the value windows; fashion weeks and December are the squeeze. The city context lives in our Paris members guide.
Entry rooms from roughly $2,200–3,000 in 2026, junior suites from ~$3,500, and the named suites (Coco Chanel, Marcel Proust, Imperial) in five figures. August and January–February run gentlest.
It remains privately owned (the Al Fayed family) and independent — its only affiliation is Leading Hotels of the World, so Leaders Club benefits apply. No chain points currency works here.
Place Vendôme side for the address and the light; Grand Jardin side for silence and garden views. The legendary suites book months out — for those, timing beats budget.
For history and that garden, nothing matches it. Travelers prioritizing intimacy over legend should weigh La Réserve — the comparison lives in our Paris guide.
Biirdee books the Ritz Paris with Leaders Club benefits applied and partner perks stacked — plus the bar table, spa slots, and dinner reservations that make the stay.
