Oceania Marina

Oceania Cruises — Oceania class

The ship Oceania created when it stopped adapting hulls and started designing its own.

Until 2011, Oceania cooked in kitchens it inherited; with Marina, it drew its own. She was conceived from the keel up as a culinary flagship — around 66,084 tons, 1,250 guests — with galleys, a spread of specialty restaurants and a hands-on cooking school given the square footage other lines spend on arcades and atriums.

A 2024 refit renewed her interiors, useful now that the newer Vista and Allura have raised the fleet's design bar. Her seasons rotate through the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Caribbean, big-region deployments suited to a ship carrying more variety than the R-class can hold. She remains the clearest expression of what Oceania is for: eating extremely well between interesting ports.

Oceania Marina Highlights

Purpose-Built for Food

The specialty-restaurant lineup, the working cooking school and the galley capacity were designed in from the start rather than retrofitted — and it shows at dinner.

Re-dressed in 2024

Her refit brought staterooms and public spaces up to the standard set by the fleet's newest generation, keeping a 2011 build competitive inside.

Three Big Regions

Mediterranean and Northern Europe seasons pair with Caribbean winters, giving her the broad, classic deployments a 1,250-guest ship handles comfortably.

Where Oceania Marina Typically Sails

Oceania Marina: FAQs

What makes Marina different from Oceania's smaller ships?

Purpose and capacity. At 1,250 guests on around 66,084 tons she carries a range of restaurants and facilities the intimate R-class ships cannot fit, in exchange for slightly less boutique port access. If dining variety ranks above harbor intimacy, she is the pick.

Is Marina outdated next to Vista and Allura?

Cosmetically no — the 2024 refit closed that gap. And her original argument still stands: she was engineered around her kitchens and cooking school, hardware the newer ships inherit from her rather than improve upon.

Where does Marina sail?

Expect Mediterranean and Northern Europe programs in the European season and Caribbean itineraries through the winter. Specific ports rotate annually, so check the current schedule against your travel window.

How should I plan the trip around a Marina sailing?

Give the food the arrival it deserves: fly in a day ahead so embarkation dinner is not your third meal in an airport. Biirdee times the business-class flights and adds the pre-cruise hotel night, turning the whole journey into one reservation.
