ANA Award Seasons 2027: Low, Regular and High Season Dates, and What Each Day Costs in Miles
ANA prices its own flights by the calendar, and the calendar for 2027 has one short low season and some very expensive single days. Every date, from ANA's own charts.

How ANA's Seasons Work
ANA Mileage Club prices awards on ANA's own flights from a chart with three seasons: low, regular and high. The season is set by the departure date of each flight, from the calendar for the region you are flying to, and ANA publishes those calendars more than a year ahead; it has already published the start of 2028.
A one-way award is priced at the season of its own departure date. A round trip is priced half and half, so an outbound in low season and a return in high season pays half the low-season round trip plus half the high-season round trip. A connection inside Japan on the way follows the first flight's date. Awards on partner airlines, such as United, Lufthansa or Singapore Airlines, ignore the calendar entirely: ANA's partner chart has no seasons.
The gaps between seasons are not small. One-way between North America and Japan in business class, low season costs 50,000 miles, regular 52,500 and high 82,500; in first class, 75,000, 85,000 and 150,000. Moving from regular to high season adds 30,000 miles in business and 65,000 in first, for the same seat.

The 2027 Cliffs: One Day, Thousands of Miles
Each row is a pair of consecutive departure dates between Japan and North America or Europe. Business and first class differences are one-way, on ANA's own flights.

Five Ways to Use the Calendar
Move a day, not a week. The cliffs fall on single dates, so the cheapest fix is usually flying the day before high season starts or the day after it ends. A family summer trip that leaves on 15 July and returns on 23 August 2027 stays entirely in regular season.
Price each direction on its own. Because a round trip is split half and half, a high-season outbound does not drag the return up with it. If only one direction has to be in a peak, book that one in the peak and the other outside it, or book them as two one-way awards, which ANA has priced at exactly half a round trip since June 2025.
Use the partner chart in peak weeks. ANA's partner awards have no seasons, so in high season they can be the cheaper way to Japan on ANA miles: business class on a Star Alliance partner such as United costs 55,000 miles one-way on a simple itinerary, against 82,500 on ANA's own flight. Partner awards carry the partner's own surcharges and cannot be waitlisted, so price both.
Watch the booking window. ANA opens awards 355 days before departure, and a round trip only once the return is inside that window. To grab the first seats of 2027's low season on the day they open, book one-ways.
Look at early 2028 now. ANA has already published low from 6 January to 29 February 2028, with 1 to 3 January high and 4 to 5 January and March regular for flights between Japan and North America or Europe, so a winter trip late in 2027 can return in a low season that opens for booking from about January 2027.
Japan to and From Hawaii and Oceania
Zones 5 (Honolulu) and 10 (Sydney and Perth). This calendar has three low-season windows in 2027, including 1 to 28 April.

Zones 2 to 4: Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, Delhi and the rest of ANA's Asian network. Two short high seasons, 4 to 6 February and 1 to 7 October, sit inside 2027 here.

Cherry Blossom Season and Golden Week
Late March and early April, Japan's cherry blossom weeks, fall in regular season on flights between Japan and North America or Europe in 2027 (1 March to 28 April), so a business class award costs 52,500 miles one-way rather than the high-season 82,500. Golden Week is the opposite. From 29 April to 9 May 2027 every ANA calendar is in high season, and so is Japan's domestic travel. If your trip touches those dates, fly into Japan by 28 April or after 9 May, or use the partner chart.

Is the season based on the booking date or the flight date?
The flight date. Each flight's departure date sets its season, and a round trip is priced half at each direction's season.
Do ANA partner awards have seasons?
No. ANA's partner chart is the same price all year, which can make a Star Alliance partner flight the cheaper way to Japan on ANA miles in high season.
Can the season change after I book?
Only if you change the date. ANA charges the extra miles if the new date is in a more expensive season and refunds the difference if it is cheaper. ANA also notes that it can move season periods for promotions.
