Amanvari: Aman's First Mexico Resort Opens August 2026

Eighteen casitas where desert, sea, and estuary meet on Baja's East Cape — and a rare chance to be first into a new Aman.

Amanvari — "peace" and "water" in Sanskrit — opens 1 August 2026 as Aman's first resort in Mexico, on the East Cape of Baja California Sur about an hour from Cabo San Lucas's crowds. The setting is the point: the swimmable, reef-protected Sea of Cortez on one side (the cape is one of few places in Los Cabos where you can actually swim from the beach), a freshwater estuary and desert mountains behind.

Reservations are already open, and with just 18 casitas the opening seasons will be the scarcest inventory in the brand. New-Aman opening years follow a pattern — see Aman Nai Lert Bangkok's 2025 debut — where partner channels move first; if a first-season stay appeals, this is a book-early property. Brand context: the complete Aman guide.

The Resort

The 18 casitas sit elevated over the landscape, a handful placed directly on the sand or along the estuary, with Aman Residences rising around the resort core in the Costa Palmas development (whose marina and Robert Trent Jones II golf course Amanvari guests can access). Dining runs through Sesui (Japanese) and Arva (Aman's Italian signature), plus Luma, built around open-fire Baja coastal cooking, and The Lounge for mezcal-forward evenings.

The spa leans into the peninsula: six treatment rooms, two Hydro Houses with banya and hammam circuits, a 24-hour fitness pavilion — and a contemporary temazcal, the Mexican sweat-lodge ritual, as the signature session. Days outside revolve around the Sea of Cortez: snorkeling and diving the Cabo Pulmo reef system, sport fishing, whale season (roughly January–April), and estuary kayaking at dawn.

Rates and Timing Expectations

Aman has not published a full rate card at the time of writing; expect entry casitas to open in the $2,500–4,000+ per night band typical of new flagship Amans in the Americas, with beachfront casitas and residences above that. August's opening weeks land in Baja's hot, quiet season — winter 2026–27 (whales, perfect weather, festive demand) will be the first true peak and the hardest booking.

We will update this page as confirmed rates and opening offers land. Opening exclusives at new Amans have historically bundled credits or stay-pay nights through partner channels — exactly the kind of offer that never appears on public booking engines. The general mechanics are in how to book Aman hotels.

Amanvari FAQs

When does Amanvari open?

1 August 2026, with reservations already open. It is Aman's first property in Mexico and its newest in the Americas, joining Amangiri, Aman New York, Amanera, and Amanyara — see the full Aman list.

Where exactly is Amanvari?

On Baja California Sur's East Cape within the Costa Palmas community at La Ribera — about 45–60 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), on the swimmable Sea of Cortez rather than the Pacific surf side.

How big is Amanvari?

Just 18 casitas plus Aman Residences — the smallest key count of any Aman in the Americas, which is why opening-season availability is expected to be exceptionally tight.

When is the best season for the East Cape?

November through May: dry, warm, calm seas, with gray and humpback whales roughly January–April. Summer and early fall are hot with the occasional tropical system — and will be the soft-rate window.

Be First Into Amanvari
