For nearly three decades it was the quiet alternative to Jackson Hole's ski-village hotels — equally a summer national-parks base (Grand Teton on the doorstep, Yellowstone a day trip) and a winter retreat above the powder.
As of mid-2026, Amangani is closed for an extensive refurbishment, with Aman describing a "new era" for the property and no public reopening date yet. Aman has not published the scope, but the brand's recent renovation pattern — Aman Rosa Alpina's 2025 transformation in the Dolomites is the template — points to a comprehensive rebuild of rooms and wellness rather than a touch-up: larger suites (and likely fewer of them), a dramatically expanded spa, branded residences, and a meaningful step up in rate. Rosa Alpina reopened at roughly triple its pre-renovation entry price; expect Amangani's post-refurbishment positioning to make the same kind of leap from its previous ~$1,500–3,000 nightly band.
Treat all of that as informed expectation, not announcement. What is reliable: reopening inventory at transformed Amans sells out through advisor channels before public calendars fill, which is exactly what happened in the Dolomites. If Amangani matters to you, the right move is a standing request rather than periodic website checks.
For the American Aman experience this year, Amangiri in southern Utah is the obvious answer — desert rather than alpine, but the brand's defining US property.
