Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, is Belmond's hotel in Ravello, and on our numbers it is the one to beat on the Amalfi Coast. Its 100 most recent verified guest reviews (May 2025 to August 2026) average 9.72 out of 10, with 91% scoring 9 or more and only 2% under 7: first of the four Amalfi Coast hotels we score and fifth of the 15 Belmonds we could rank. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Five-Star in 2026, and it holds One MICHELIN Key.
It is also the priciest of the four. Caruso sold rooms on our engine only from April to September 2027, and our July test stay came to $2,771 a night, with breakfast included and free cancellation, against $2,513 at Hotel Santa Caterina, $2,056 at Le Sirenuse and $1,501 at Palazzo Avino. Couples wrote 73% of its recent reviews, and what guests write about is the service (81% of written reviews, averaging 9.75), the view (49%, averaging 9.65) and the pool (35%, averaging 9.5).
Our verdict: Caruso is the Amalfi Coast hotel we would book when recent guest scores matter most and the budget can take it, and we would aim for April, when its midweek rate on our calendar ($1,147) was well under half of June's ($3,139). If the rate matters more than the last tenth of a point, Palazzo Avino in Ravello and Le Sirenuse in Positano both scored above 9.4 for far less in July.

Caruso by Our Numbers
On 1 October 2026 we priced Caruso through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com) on four test stays for two adults (10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027) and on a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in every month from November 2026 to October 2027, and we scored its 100 most recent verified guest reviews ourselves: the mean out of 10, the share scoring 9 or more and the share under 7. Le Sirenuse, Palazzo Avino and Hotel Santa Caterina were priced and scored the same way on 3 October 2026. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking that day; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra, and live rates change daily. "No rooms" means nothing was bookable on our engine for those dates.

When to Go
Through our engine, Caruso is an April-to-September hotel: nothing was bookable for November 2026 to March 2027 or for October 2027 when we checked. Belmond's own page showed the hotel open on 3 October 2026, and we could not confirm its closing or opening dates, so read the empty months as unavailable through us rather than as a closure, and ask us to check with the hotel if your trip falls in them.
Within those six months the rate swings hard. April was by far the cheapest at $1,147 a night midweek; May ($2,173) was the next cheapest, then August ($2,372) and July ($2,535). June ($3,139) and September ($3,040) were the dearest, so the early and late summer months cost more than high summer itself on our calendar. From April to June the rate rose 174%. Our July test stay, a Thursday-to-Sunday weekend, came to $2,771 a night.

Our Read on the Comparison
All four hotels had nothing on sale through our engine for our November, New Year and March dates, so on the Amalfi Coast the comparison is a summer one. In July, Caruso was the dearest of the four: $258 a night more than Hotel Santa Caterina, $715 more than Le Sirenuse and close to double Palazzo Avino's $1,501. What the premium buys is the top guest score (9.72 against 9.65, 9.53 and 9.45) and the smallest share of guests scoring under 7 (2%).
The field is tight, though. All four score above 9.4 with recent guests, and Hotel Santa Caterina and Palazzo Avino each had 92% of recent guests scoring 9 or more, one point more than Caruso. Palazzo Avino, Caruso's neighbor in Ravello, came in at a little over half Caruso's July rate. Our pick: Caruso for the highest scores on the coast; Palazzo Avino if you want Ravello for less; Le Sirenuse if you would rather be in Positano.
Rooms, Dining and the Hotel
Caruso occupies an 11th-century palace above Ravello. It has 50 keys, 17 rooms and 33 suites (the Signature Suites run 90 to 95 m²), plus Villa Margherita, a Signature Villa. Its signature is the clifftop pool and the Mediterranean gardens over the sea, which is what guests write about: the view came up in 49% of written reviews and the pool in 35%.
The engine offered nine room types for our July stay. The entry room was a Superior Double Room with Garden at $2,771 a night; the cheapest suite was a Superior Sea View Junior Suite with Garden at $3,647, and a Deluxe Sea View Terrace Suite topped the ladder at $5,248. The cheapest rate already included breakfast, and free cancellation added only 1%, so there was no reason to take a non-refundable rate. Breakfast came up in 19% of written reviews, and those reviews averaged 9.79.
Ristorante Il Pantaleone (chef Armando Aristarco) is the main restaurant, with the poolside Caruso Grill, La Piscina pool bar and pool club, and the newly opened Adagio Bar in historic rooms with 18th-century frescoes. Food came up in 44% of written reviews, averaging 9.61. The hotel runs weekly pasta, limoncello, yoga and painting classes and has a wellness centre with a gym, and from spring 2026 Belmond's Villeggiatura by Train journeys link the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express with Caruso, Splendido, Villa San Michele and the Cipriani.
Our desk has no Belmond bookings in the period our notes cover, so the first-party data here is our rate checks and review scoring. For Belmond's other Italian hotels, from the Cipriani in Venice to Grand Hotel Timeo in Taormina, see Belmond in Italy and our Cipriani guide.
