Giuseppe Cipriani (of Harry's Bar) built his hotel on Giudecca island in 1958 precisely so it would have what no Venice palazzo can: gardens, space, and the lagoon's only Olympic-size heated pool. The private mahogany launch shuttles you to San Marco in five minutes, around the clock; you get Venice when you want it and silence when you don't. It is the flagship of Belmond's portfolio and the property LVMH is investing in most heavily: Peter Marino's phased reimagining brings a reworked Oro restaurant and Venice's first Dior Spa in spring 2026.
The season runs roughly April through October and the hotel closes each winter. Within it, rates swing hard: on our 1 October 2026 check the cheapest midweek room cost $3,068 a night in June and $2,773 in September, against $2,207 in July and $2,264 in August. Our engine had nothing to sell for April, May or October dates, so for the shoulder months ask us to check with the hotel.
Booking the Cipriani Well
- Lagoon-view rooms in the main building are the classic; the Palazzo Vendramin annex suites add San Marco views across the water.
- April and the last two October weeks are the connoisseur's windows for the full experience. Of the months our engine could price, July ($2,207 midweek) and August ($2,264) were the cheapest and June ($3,068) the dearest.

On 1 October 2026 we priced the same four stays at the Cipriani and every other Belmond through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com), plus a two-night midweek stay in every month for a year, and scored the hotel's 100 most recent verified guest reviews ourselves. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking that day; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra, and live rates change daily. What the Numbers Say
The Cipriani was the most expensive Belmond we priced for 15–18 July 2027, and its guests are among the brand's happiest: 9.63 puts it sixth of the 15 Belmonds we could rank, behind two hotels in Peru, the Mount Nelson in Cape Town and two Italian siblings, Grand Hotel Timeo in Taormina (9.84) and Caruso in Ravello (9.72). Service came up in 80% of written reviews (averaging 9.53), food in 32% (9.75), the pool in 27% (9.7) and breakfast in 20% (9.87). Couples wrote 63% of the reviews and families 25%.
When to go: of the months our engine could sell, July was the cheapest for two midweek nights ($2,207) and June the dearest ($3,068), with August ($2,264) and September ($2,773) in between; nothing was bookable through us from November to May or in October. Our July test stay, a Thursday-to-Sunday weekend, came to $3,535 a night with breakfast included and free cancellation, in a lagoon-view Premium room with a balcony. When is Hotel Cipriani open?
Roughly April through October; it closes each winter. June and September are peak; April and late October offer the same hotel at 30–40% less.
How much does the Cipriani cost?
On our 1 October 2026 check, the cheapest room for two midweek nights cost $2,207 a night in July, $2,264 in August, $2,773 in September and $3,068 in June. Our July weekend test stay came to $3,535 a night with breakfast included; the cheapest suite that weekend was $4,214 (a Junior Suite with pool view and terrace) and the top category $7,096. Our engine had nothing to sell for April, May or October dates, so for the shoulder months we check availability with the hotel directly. The pool, gardens and launch are included for all guests.
Is breakfast included at the Cipriani?
On our July test stay, yes: the cheapest rate ($3,535 a night, refundable) already included breakfast. Guests rate it highly: breakfast came up in 20% of written reviews, averaging 9.87.
