The Short Answer
Qantas is the only airline flying first class nonstop from the US to Australia in our data, on its refurbished A380: Dallas/Fort Worth to Sydney and Los Angeles to Sydney. The Dallas/Fort Worth flight covers 13,808 km in an estimated 17h 20m, the longest route in our first class library.
Everything else Qantas flies to the US is a business class story. It serves five US airports in our schedule data, and the desk library notes that most of that flying is on 787-9s with 2014-era business seats without doors. Project Sunrise, the new A350s, starts with Sydney–London in October 2027.
If first class matters more than a nonstop, there are one-stop options: Emirates, Qantas and Singapore Airlines fly first class into Australia in our data, most notably Singapore Suites on the A380 from Singapore to Sydney and Melbourne.

How the Desk Decides
From Los Angeles or Dallas/Fort Worth, the Qantas A380 nonstop is the answer, and space is the constraint: our scanner saw first class seats on only a handful of departure dates in a September week. Our desk issued 4 Qantas first class tickets between November 2024 and September 2026, 3 of them on Cathay Asia Miles, which Citi, Capital One, Bilt and Wells Fargo transfer to at 1:1 and Amex at 5:4.
From anywhere else, decide what matters more. For the nonstop, fly business on Qantas or a US airline and accept the older seat on a 787-9.
