How We Ranked Them

On 1 October 2026 we took the 100 most recent verified guest reviews for every Four Seasons on our booking platform (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com) and scored them ourselves: the mean out of 10, the share of guests who scored 9 or more, and the share who scored under 7, our disappointment rate. To be ranked, a hotel needed at least 50 reviews written since June 2024 and running into 2026; 72 of the 128 Four Seasons we track qualify. Strong hotels with older or thinner review records are listed separately below, flagged †.

The same day we priced the same stays at every hotel through our own booking engine. The rates in the tables are the lowest per night on 10–13 Nov 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027 as of 1 October 2026; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra. Forbes ratings are the 2026 Star Awards; awards are the MICHELIN Keys 2026 and The 50 Best Hotels 2026, where confirmed. A guest score is not a verdict on the architecture or the restaurants. In our experience it tracks service and value, which is exactly what you want to know before you book.

The Top Ten, Briefly

Four Seasons Hotel Chicago (9.86). The clear winner: 96% of its last 100 guests scored it 9 or more, and service came up in 92% of written reviews, averaging 9.85. Half its reviewers were families, and children came up in 18% of reviews at 9.89. A Forbes Four-Star with a first MICHELIN Key in 2026, it cost $639 a night on our November dates and $674 in March, rising to $1,067 in July; December midweek was the cheapest month on our calendar at $465.

Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay (9.67). A couples' and solo travelers' hotel (57% and 22% of reviewers), with service mentioned in 57% of written reviews at 9.75. Forbes Four-Star. Rooms from $523 a night in July and $764 in November; February midweek was cheapest on our calendar at $477.

Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui (9.67). The best-reviewed resort in the brand. The beach came up in 32% of written reviews and the spa in 25%, and couples wrote 62% of them. Every key we priced was a pool villa with breakfast included: $1,460 a night in November, $1,736 in March, $1,662 in July. Forbes Four-Star; Two MICHELIN Keys in 2026, up from one.

Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai (9.66). Just 1% of recent guests scored it under 7, the lowest share in the top ten, and food came up in 45% of written reviews at 9.78. Three MICHELIN Keys for the third year running. Breakfast was included in every rate we found: pavilions from $859 a night in July and $882 in March, though our November dates offered only a two-bedroom residence at $4,248.

Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River (9.65). No. 3 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026 (No. 2 in 2025), and 95% of recent guests scored it 9 or more, the highest share after Chicago. Breakfast came up in 24% of written reviews, every one of them scoring 10. Rooms cost $530–689 a night on our November, March and July dates, with breakfast included in March and July. Four Seasons Hotel Osaka (9.63). Families wrote 39% of its reviews, and breakfast and the pool both averaged a perfect 10 in the reviews that mention them. Prices barely moved: $544–609 a night across our November, March and July dates. Forbes Four-Star, One MICHELIN Key.

Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta (9.61). Our value pick: every room we priced was a suite, at $203–224 a night on our November, March and July dates. Service came up in 93% of written reviews (9.92) and breakfast in 31%, with a perfect 10. Two MICHELIN Keys; Forbes Recommended.

Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru at Embassy ONE (9.60). The most business-heavy guest mix in the top ten (18% business travelers, 22% solo), and service came up in 74% of written reviews at 9.73. Rooms with breakfast cost $332 a night in November and $292 at New Year; our engine had nothing for March or July.

Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest (9.58). The best-reviewed Four Seasons in Europe, a Forbes Five-Star with Two MICHELIN Keys. Couples wrote 68% of its reviews; breakfast came up in 32% (9.8) and the spa in 23% (9.86). Rooms from $630 a night in March, $789 in July and $838 in November; January midweek was cheapest on our calendar at $601.

Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi (9.57). Views came up in 39% of written reviews, scoring 9.94, and families wrote 54% of them. Three MICHELIN Keys for the third year running; Forbes Four-Star. Rooms from $727 a night in July, $983 in March and $1,087 in November; New Year is another matter at $2,700.

At the Bottom of the Table

None of these is a bad hotel: 68–74% of their recent guests still scored them 9 or more. But at these prices the unhappy minority matters, and the written reviews show where it comes from. At Cairo's First Residence (8.53), "dated" came up in 10% of written reviews (averaging 7.25) and noise in 8% (7.33); its sister hotel, Nile Plaza, scored 8.93. Miami (8.53) has the highest share of unhappy guests of any ranked Four Seasons: 19% scored it under 7. At Rabat (8.64), breakfast came up in 26% of written reviews and averaged 7.0.

The surprises are in Hawaii and Los Angeles. Maui at Wailea is a Forbes Five-Star, yet 16% of its recent guests scored it under 7; noise came up in 13% of written reviews, averaging 6.44, at a resort that cost $1,634–3,053 a night on our dates. The Los Angeles hotel at Beverly Hills (8.69) drew "dated" in 13% of written reviews, averaging 5.33, while its sister the Beverly Wilshire scored 9.24 at similar prices ($904–1,051 a night on our dates, against $904–997). Just above the bottom five sit Seattle (8.71), the Ritz Lisbon and Tunis (8.73 each).

Three more score above 9.5 on too few recent reviews to rank: the Serengeti Safari Lodge (9.62, only 21 reviews), Tamarindo in Mexico (9.60, only 43) and Hangzhou at Hangzhou Centre (9.56, only 43). Istanbul at Sultanahmet (9.45) misses the ranking only because its newest reviews stop in December 2025.

Awards and Guest Scores Measure Different Things

The overlap is real but partial. Two of the nine Three-Key Four Seasons sit in our top ten (Chiang Mai and Tokyo at Otemachi), as does Bangkok, No. 3 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026. Firenze and San Domenico Palace rank 18th and 26th with guests, and Astir Palace in Athens, No. 27 in The 50 Best Hotels, ranks 46th of 72. Four more Three-Key hotels (the George V, Istanbul at Sultanahmet, Megève and Cap-Ferrat) have review records that fall outside our ranking rules. Awards reward the ambition of a hotel; guest scores reward how reliably it delivers. Our picks lean on both.
