Cheval Blanc Paris: Rooms, Rates and Our Honest Review

Cheval Blanc Paris occupies La Samaritaine at 8 Quai du Louvre, on the Seine in the 1st arrondissement. Henri Sauvage's Art Deco building is a listed Historic Monument; the hotel opened inside it on 7 September 2021, with interiors by Peter Marino (his first hotel) and façade artwork by Jean-Michel Othoniel. It is LVMH's Paris flagship and, on the 2026 honors, one of the most decorated hotels in the city: Forbes Five-Star, Three MICHELIN Keys, the Palace distinction (first awarded in 2026) and No. 20 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026, up from No. 21 the year before.

There are 72 keys, 26 rooms and 46 suites, starting at 45 square meters and topped by L'Appartement, a seven-bedroom, 1,000-square-meter residence over the eighth and ninth floors with its own 12.5-meter pool. The food is reason enough to stay: Arnaud Donckele's Plénitude holds three MICHELIN stars, the Japanese restaurant Hakuba won its second star in 2026, and Le Tout-Paris, the seventh-floor brasserie, holds one. Below them sits the Dior Spa Cheval Blanc with a 30-meter indoor pool. This guide adds what the brochures leave out: what the rooms actually cost, month by month and against the other palaces. For the brand as a whole, see the guide to all six maisons.

Cheval Blanc Paris in Brief

  • Our engine priced Cheval Blanc Paris at $2,178–4,065 a night across the next 12 months on 1 October 2026, with breakfast for two included in the cheapest rate on every test stay.
  • Test stays: $2,231 (10–13 Nov 2026), $4,038 (27–30 Dec 2026, suites only), $2,299 (12–15 Mar 2027) and $3,011 (15–18 Jul 2027) a night, plus about $247–418 a night in taxes collected at the hotel.
  • Cheapest months: February to May and September ($2,178). Priciest: mid-June ($4,065), then the third week of January ($3,877).
  • The entry suite (the Seine Junior Suite) cost $3,294–4,038 a night; the priciest category on offer reached $10,449 (the Notre Dame Suite, in July).
  • On price it sits mid-pack among the Paris palaces we priced, and it was cheaper than the Ritz in six of the seven months both had rooms.
  • It has only one review on our platform, too few to score; its reputation rests on Forbes Five-Star, Three MICHELIN Keys and No. 20 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026.

Cheval Blanc Paris by Our Numbers

On 1 October 2026 we priced the same stays at Cheval Blanc Paris and the other Paris palaces through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com), and scored the 100 most recent verified guest reviews at each hotel ourselves. The test stays were 10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027, plus a two-night midweek stay in every month to October 2027. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra. Live rates change daily: these were the rates on 1 October 2026. Cheval Blanc Paris has a single review on our platform, too few to score, so the guest-score context below comes from the other Paris hotels we scored.

Reading the Ladder

The ladder is short at the bottom and steep at the top. On ordinary dates the Deluxe Room is the entry point, and the Seine Junior Suite, the cheapest suite every time, cost 1.48 times as much in November, 1.57 times in March and 1.33 times in July. Above it the named suites climb fast: $9,877 a night for the Eiffel Suite in March and $10,449 for the Notre Dame Suite in July. Over New Year the bottom rungs were gone: only four categories were left, all suites, from $4,038.

Two habits pay off here. Do not pay for breakfast separately, because the cheapest rate already includes it (where the same room was sold without it on the same terms, breakfast for two was worth $76–120 a night). And take the non-refundable rate only when your dates are fixed, because free cancellation cost $188–398 a night more. What Cheval Blanc costs breaks those premiums down stay by stay.

When to Go

Five months sat at an identical $2,178 (February to May and September), and November, December and August were barely higher ($2,226–2,231). The expensive weeks are specific: mid-June ($4,065, 87% above the floor), the third week of January ($3,877) and mid-October 2027 ($3,584). If your dates can move, spring and September are the sweet spot; if you need New Year, book it early, because the standard rooms were already gone for 27–30 December when we checked.

If you are coming for the food, check the restaurant calendar as well as the room rate: in summer 2026 Plénitude closed from 2 August to 1 September, Hakuba from 19 July to 25 August and Langosteria from 3 to 23 August.

Where It Stands

On price, Cheval Blanc Paris is a mid-market palace with a top-of-market reputation. On our test stays it was third-cheapest of six in November and fourth in March and July, and only over New Year, when it was down to suites, was it the dearest of the five with rooms. Month by month it undercut the Ritz in six of the seven months both had rooms (January was the exception) and the George V in eight of the ten. It was never the cheapest: Plaza Athénée and the Shangri-La held that spot, though both quote room only.

On guest scores we cannot place it: a single review is no basis for a number. Of the seven Paris luxury hotels we could score, The Peninsula Paris (9.60) and Hotel de Crillon (9.54) led, both on older review windows, and Plaza Athénée trailed at 8.83. Cheval Blanc's standing rests on the 2026 awards instead: Forbes Five-Star, Three Keys and a top-20 place in The 50 Best Hotels. For twelve months of rates against the other palaces, see Cheval Blanc Paris vs the Paris palaces.

Restaurants, Spa and the Details

Plénitude, on the first floor, is Arnaud Donckele's Paris table, with pastry chef Maxime Frédéric; it has held three MICHELIN stars since 2022. Hakuba, the ground-floor kaiseki and sushi restaurant led by Takuya Watanabe with Donckele and Frédéric, opened in March 2024, won its first star in 2025 and its second in 2026; its Yume menu is €420, served Tuesday to Saturday at dinner. On the seventh floor, Le Tout-Paris is the brasserie and bar (one star since 2024, chef William Béquin), Langosteria serves Italian seafood and is in the guide without a star, and the seasonal garden, Le Jardin, opened there on 22 May this year.

The Dior Spa Cheval Blanc has a 30-meter indoor pool and a Rossano Ferretti hair salon, and Le Carrousel, designed with the sailor Maud Fontenoy, takes children up to 12. The general manager is Wilfried Morandini. One date for the diary: La Table Ruinart x Cheval Blanc Paris runs from 15 to 25 October 2026, with a seven-course dinner by Donckele at €890 a person.
