Every room, photo and amenity at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi

Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi has the highest recent guest score of any Tokyo hotel we track: 9.57 out of 10 across its 100 most recent verified reviews, with 92% of guests scoring it 9 or more and only 4% under 7. Opened in September 2020 on the top floors of the Otemachi One tower, it holds Three MICHELIN Keys in 2026, its third year in a row at the top level, and our desk has booked it three times.

Our verdict: it is the Tokyo hotel we would book first for a family, and a strong one for couples who care about the view over the Imperial Palace gardens. Families wrote 54% of its recent reviews, and the view came up in 39% of written reviews, which averaged 9.94. The catch is the calendar. Outside New Year it priced from $727 to $1,744 a night on our checks; over New Year (27–30 Dec 2026) its lowest rate was $2,700, the highest of the five Tokyo hotels we could score. Book it in summer or late winter and it is fair value for the best-reviewed hotel in our Tokyo set; book it for the holidays and you pay a premium the Mandarin Oriental does not charge.

Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi by Our Numbers

On 1 October 2026 we priced the same stays at every Tokyo hotel we track through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com): 10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027, two adults, plus a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in every month from November 2026 to October 2027. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra. We also scored the 100 most recent verified guest reviews at each hotel ourselves (the mean out of 10, the share scoring 9 or more and the share under 7). Live rates change daily, so read these as the rates on 1 October 2026.

When to Go

Summer is Otemachi's quiet season on price. August ($939) and July ($982) were the two cheapest months on our calendar, and our 15–18 Jul 2027 test stay found a Superior Room at $727 a night, refundable. February ($1,058) and June ($1,091) are the next-best windows. Spring and early autumn are where it peaks: April at $1,744, September at $1,660 and May at $1,599, so the spread from the cheapest month to the dearest is 86%.

Two dates need care. New Year is in a league of its own: our 27–30 Dec 2026 stay priced at $2,700 a night, against $1,193 for a midweek stay in the third week of December, and the hotel collected about $257 a night in taxes on top (about $3 on our other three stays). And November 2026 and October 2027 showed no rooms for the third-week midweek dates we checked, though our 10–13 Nov 2026 stay did price at $1,087. If those weeks matter to you, ask us early rather than reading "no rooms" as closed.

Our Read on the Tokyo Board

Otemachi and the Mandarin Oriental are close to a tie on reviews: 9.57 against 9.53, and the Mandarin's window is the fresher one (January to August 2026). They differ on who stays and on price. Otemachi is a family hotel on its reviews (54% families, 35% couples); the Mandarin is a couples' hotel (58% couples, 17% families). The Mandarin was cheaper on three of our four stays: $1,677 over New Year (with breakfast included and refundable, against Otemachi's $2,700 room only), $917 in March and $685 in July. Otemachi won only November, at $1,087 against $1,360. Forbes rates the Mandarin Five-Star and Otemachi Four-Star; Michelin puts Otemachi on Three Keys.

Against the rest of the city, Otemachi was cheaper than the Peninsula on three of four stays (the Peninsula undercut it only over New Year, $2,655 to $2,700), and it out-scores Four Seasons Marunouchi, the brand's other Tokyo hotel, whose 9.19 rests on older reviews with 10% under 7 and which holds One MICHELIN Key. The Ritz-Carlton was cheaper in November, December and March but scored 8.90, with 70% of guests at 9 or more against Otemachi's 92%. Aman Tokyo is a different purchase: it sold only suites on our dates, from $2,106 to $4,572 a night, and has no reviews on our platform to score, but it is #11 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026 and the Tokyo hotel our desk books most. For the Aman side of the city, see Aman Tokyo vs Aman Kyoto; for the Peninsula, our Peninsula Tokyo guide.

Rooms, Dining and the Spa

This is a young hotel in a tall building: it opened on 1 September 2020 with 190 keys (170 rooms and 20 suites) at the top of the Otemachi One tower, and has had no major renovation since. On our four stays the engine showed 8 to 12 room types. The cheapest was the Superior Room, City View, on three of them (a Deluxe Room, City View, over New Year). The Executive Suite was the cheapest suite every time, from $2,017 a night in July to $5,349 over New Year; the Premier Suite ran $2,957 to $6,664, and in July a Suite Panoramic View topped the ladder at $3,744.

The food is the other reason to stay. est, the contemporary French restaurant under chef de cuisine Guillaume Bracaval, holds one MICHELIN star in the 2026 Tokyo guide; PIGNETO is the rooftop Italian, VIRTÙ the cocktail and Champagne bar, and THE LOUNGE serves afternoon tea. Food came up in 34% of written reviews (average 9.56) and breakfast in 22% (9.88). The top-floor spa has five treatment rooms, Japanese baths and a 20-metre indoor pool facing the Imperial Palace; the reviews that mentioned the pool (14%) and the spa (9%) averaged a perfect 10.0. The softest topic of any size was kids, in 9% of written reviews with an average of 8.86: still strong, but a reminder that a family-heavy hotel draws family-sized expectations.

What Our Desk Books

Four Seasons is the brand our agents price most often, and Otemachi is among its most-booked hotels on our desk: three bookings, at a typical spend of about $2,400 a night with taxes, above most of the entry-room rates in the scorecard. Our Four Seasons city stays are usually booked within a week of arrival, but holiday trips are not: one Four Seasons Tokyo stay for the cherry blossom was booked about seven to eight months ahead. In Tokyo as a whole, Aman Tokyo is the hotel our clients book most (six bookings). For the rest of the brand, see the Four Seasons hotels guide, Four Seasons prices and how to book Four Seasons.
