KrisFlyer Advantage vs Access (2026): Saver, Advantage and Access Awards Compared for Suites and Business
Singapore Airlines now sells award seats three ways. Here is what separates Advantage from Access, straight from Singapore's own rules, and what our award scanner saw the same seats cost.

The Short Answer
Advantage is a fixed price from the KrisFlyer award chart, drawn from seats Singapore Airlines allocates to awards, and you can waitlist it. Access, introduced on 1 November 2025, is priced by demand on seats "over and above" that award allocation, confirms instantly and cannot be waitlisted. Saver is the cheaper chart price with stricter rules. Those definitions are Singapore Airlines' own, from its Access redemption FAQ.
So the order the desk works in is simple: Saver if it is there, Advantage when Saver is gone, and Access when both are gone and the date matters more than the miles. Advantage and Access share the same fare conditions (free date changes, a US$50 redeposit, one free stopover on a one-way), so the choice between them is only about price and certainty.
The price is the part to check every time. Our award scanner reads Singapore Airlines award prices without labelling the award type, and in September 2026 it saw the same Tokyo–Los Angeles first class service at 224,500 miles on one date and 449,000 on another. What Our Scanner Saw on Singapore Airlines, September 2026
KrisFlyer miles one-way per person, as our award scanner recorded them on Singapore Airlines flights from 3 to 22 September 2026. The scanner records the price, not the award type.

Reading Those Prices
Two patterns stand out. The same Tokyo–Los Angeles first class service priced at 224,500 miles on one date and 449,000 on another, exactly double. And New York–Singapore business priced at 247,500 miles on the one westbound date the scanner saw with seats, against 165,000 on the one eastbound date. A chart price is fixed for the route and cabin; when the price moves like that, you are looking at a different award type, or at Access pricing moving with demand. Check which one the booking flow is offering before you pay it.
The practical rule: if the price in front of you is the chart price, it is Saver or Advantage, and waiting (or waitlisting) can pay. If it is above the chart and the date is fixed, Access is the seat you would otherwise not get at all, since Singapore says those seats sit beyond the award allocation. Either way, the miles you transfer are gone for good, so price the cash fare on the same flight too.

How the Desk Chooses
Holding out for a date? Waitlist Saver or Advantage. Singapore confirms waitlisted awards automatically when seats open and emails the result; it cannot be expedited, and Star Alliance partner awards cannot be waitlisted at all.

Building a stopover? A one-way Saver award includes none; Advantage and Access include one. For a Suites trip that means a one-way Advantage or Access award can pause in Singapore before the A380 onward sector.
Mixing cabins? Singapore may price the whole trip at the highest cabin flown, so a short business sector in front of a Suites flight can cost Suites miles. Price the pieces separately.
The Suites Rules That Matter Most
Suites flies on nine A380 routes from Singapore in 2026, per our desk library, and Singapore sells Suites and first class only on selected flights. Its Access terms say a member who redeems for Suites or first class on a flight without that cabin is allocated business class, so the flight number is the product: our Singapore Suites guide lists every route. Redemption tickets of any type earn no KrisFlyer miles, Elite miles or PPS Value.
Where These Numbers Come From
Program rules quote Singapore Airlines' own KrisFlyer FAQs: "Introduction of Access Redemption" and "Adjustments to Award Rates for Flight Redemptions and Upgrades", both effective 1 November 2025. Mileage figures are what the Biirdee award scanner recorded on Singapore Airlines award searches in September 2026, one-way per person before taxes; "departure dates with seats" counts the distinct travel dates on which it saw at least one seat. They are observations, not chart rates or a promise of availability.

What is the difference between KrisFlyer Advantage and Access?
Advantage is a fixed award-chart price on seats Singapore Airlines allocates to awards, and it can be waitlisted. Access prices by demand on seats beyond that allocation, confirms instantly and cannot be waitlisted. Their fare conditions are the same.
Is Access more expensive than Advantage?
