Mandarin Oriental Prices: What Each Hotel Costs, by Month

Mandarin Oriental's hotels are priced worlds apart. On the same March dates the lowest rate ran from $124 a night at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta to $2,031 at Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing; in July, from $127 in Jakarta to $3,614 at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London, where only suites were left. So we priced every hotel ourselves.

On 1 October 2026 we priced the same stays at all 46 Mandarin Orientals we track through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com): 10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027, for two adults, plus a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in every month from November 2026 to October 2027. The Conservatorium in Amsterdam was priced on 3 October 2026. We also scored the 100 most recent verified guest reviews at each hotel ourselves. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra, and we show them separately below. Live rates change daily: these were the rates on the days we pulled them.

Reading the Price Tables

Asia is where Mandarin Oriental is cheap, though not at its two most famous hotels. Jakarta ($124–139 a night on our four stays) and Kuala Lumpur ($155–270) were the two cheapest hotels in the brand, and Shanghai ($246–336), Guangzhou ($311–402), Macau ($254–427) and Taipei ($386–519) never cost more than $519 on any of our stays. Hong Kong ($696–988) and Tokyo ($685–1,677) are a different market, and Bangkok ran $518–740 except over New Year, when it cost $1,496.

Europe is where the money goes. Mayfair sold only suites on three of our four stays ($2,895–3,614), the Lutetia ran $1,435–2,101, Milan $1,354–2,058, Paris $1,302–1,826 and Hyde Park $1,032–1,551. The exceptions are Prague ($367–599), the Conservatorium ($450–689), Geneva ($686–818) and Vienna, at $474–571 except over New Year ($1,356). In the Gulf, Doha ($244–363) and Riyadh ($384–491) are the bargains, while the beach hotels swing with the season: Jumeira cost $2,226 over New Year and $358 in July, Emirates Palace $1,167 and $405.

At the resorts, availability matters more than price. Bodrum and Costa Navarino had no rooms on sale on our November, December or March stays, and Lago di Como had none in December or March. Marrakech, Canouan and Desaru Coast sold only suites or villas on every test stay where they had anything at all, and Punta Negra in Mallorca had nothing on sale on any date we checked, in any month.

When to Go

February is the cheapest month at 13 Mandarin Orientals, more than any other; November, December and August follow at seven hotels each (counting the hotels we could price in at least ten months). Brand-wide, the median midweek rate bottomed out at $707 a night in February and $708 in January and peaked at $947 in September, with July ($842) the next dearest.

The city flagships keep their own calendars. Bangkok drops to $518 from April to September and peaks in February ($840). Hong Kong barely moves ($716–957, dearest in November). Tokyo swings hard: $664 in August and $671 in July against $2,015 in January and $1,467 in November. Hyde Park is cheapest in February and April ($930) and dearest in July ($1,415), Paris cheapest in November ($1,456), and New York runs from $874 in February to $3,181 in November.

The resorts reward spring. Lago di Como, Bodrum and Costa Navarino had nothing on sale in our monthly checks from November to March (Lago di Como did sell rooms for our 10–13 November stay); all three were cheapest in April ($684 at Bodrum, $1,159 at Costa Navarino, $1,621 at Lago di Como) and dearest in July, when Lago di Como reached $3,619. Marrakech runs the other way, cheapest in August ($762) and dearest in April ($1,950), and Canouan cost $1,014 in November against $2,153 from December to February. "No rooms" on a resort calendar means nothing could be booked on our engine for those dates: plan those trips for the months that price.

Milan ($101–102), Barcelona ($95–110), Bangkok ($113–119) and the Bosphorus ($121–133) are the simple cases: about the same on every stay. Asia's cheaper hotels add little (Jakarta $21–48, Kuala Lumpur $26–70, Guangzhou $56–79). Where the gap topped $300 a night (every stay at the Ritz in Madrid and in Boston, three of four at the Conservatorium, New York in November and December, and single stays in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Hyde Park and Paris), the breakfast rate was a different package, so we mark it Not comparable: price room-only first and add breakfast separately.

It matters because breakfast is rarely in the price: on our four stays only 14–24% of the hotels included it in their cheapest rate. A preferred-partner booking through an advisor such as Biirdee adds daily breakfast where the rate does not already include it.

What Free Cancellation Adds

At most Mandarin Orientals a refundable rate costs little more than a prepaid one: the median premium was 2–6% across our four stays. New York charged nothing extra on any stay, Singapore 0–2%, Guangzhou 0–1%, Boston 2–5% and Hong Kong 2–7%. The exceptions are worth knowing before you book. Tokyo charged 36% more for a refundable rate on our November and March stays, Bangkok 32% in November, the Bosphorus 22–25% on every stay, Milan 20–21% on every stay, the Conservatorium 19–25%, and Hyde Park 25% in March and 17% in July (against 2–3% in November and December).

The median cheapest suite cost 1.57 to 1.72 times the cheapest room, but the step varies wildly. Doha's Studio Suite ran $410–437 a night and Jakarta's Urban Suite $145–164, both below the brand's median cheapest room on every stay. At the other end, Bangkok's cheapest suite cost $2,814 over New Year, and the cheapest suite ran $2,022–3,422 a night in Barcelona, $2,028–3,614 at Mayfair, $2,081–2,771 at the Lutetia, $2,090–2,795 at Mandarin Oriental, Paris and $2,445–2,756 on the Bosphorus. Among the dearest categories we found: the 3-Bedroom Courtyard at Qianmen in Beijing ($10,596 a night in July), Doha's Royal Suite ($10,078) and the Penthouse Suite at the Savoy in Zurich ($9,868 in July).

Compare all-in, especially in London. Hyde Park left about $195–293 a night to pay at checkout on our four stays, and Mayfair, where the rates were for suites, about $250–682. The Lutetia ($172–235), Milan ($155–222) and the Conservatorium ($142–218) also added real money, as did New York ($141–195 on three of four stays) and Boston ($80–152). Most of the Asian and Gulf hotels added under $100 a night on most stays, and Doha, Kuala Lumpur and Guangzhou nothing at all on our stays.

How to Pay Less at Mandarin Oriental

Time it. February is the cheapest month at 13 hotels, and the gaps can be large: New York in February ($874) against November ($3,181), Tokyo in August ($664) against January ($2,015), Bangkok from April to September ($518) against February ($840). Singapore ($520–585 in every month we priced), Wangfujing in Beijing ($814–850) and Hong Kong ($716–853 outside November) barely move, so book those for the weather.

Keep your options open where it is cheap to. At New York a refundable rate cost nothing extra on any of our stays, and at Singapore, Hong Kong and Boston only a few percent; where it is steep (36% at Tokyo in November and March, 22–25% on the Bosphorus, 20–21% at Milan, 19–25% at the Conservatorium), a prepaid rate makes sense only once the dates are fixed.

Get the extras attached rather than buying them.
