Every room, photo and amenity at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is one of London's most decorated hotels, Forbes Five-Star with Three MICHELIN Keys in 2026, and recent guests rate it well rather than exceptionally: 9.12 out of 10 across its 100 most recent verified reviews (January to August 2026), with 80% scoring it 9 or more and 9% under 7. That puts it level with the Berkeley, joint 12th of the 16 London luxury hotels we scored with enough reviews, and 19th of the 31 Mandarin Orientals we could rank.
Our verdict: it suits couples (67% of its recent reviews) who want the spa and a Three-Key address, and who can travel outside summer. It is mid-priced for London's top tier: $1,032–1,551 a night on our test stays, cheaper than the Berkeley, the Dorchester and the Peninsula London on every one of them, but with about $195–293 a night of tax to pay at checkout. If the guest score matters most, Raffles London at The OWO, the Cadogan and the Savoy all scored higher for similar or less money on our dates.
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in Brief
- 9.12 out of 10 across its 100 most recent reviews: 80% scored it 9 or more and 9% under 7. Joint 12th of the 16 London luxury hotels we scored, level with the Berkeley.
- Lowest rates on our test stays: $1,135 a night for 10–13 Nov 2026, $1,551 for 27–30 Dec 2026, $1,032 for 12–15 Mar 2027 and $1,431 for 15–18 Jul 2027, plus about $195–293 a night in taxes at checkout.

- Breakfast was not in the cheapest rate on any of our stays; for two it added $125–398 a night on the same room.
- Free cancellation cost 2–3% extra on our November and New Year stays, but 25% in March and 17% in July.
- Three MICHELIN Keys (2026) and Forbes Five-Star. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal (Two MICHELIN stars) closes at the hotel in January 2027.
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park by Our Numbers
On 1 October 2026 we priced the same stays at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com): 10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027, for two adults, plus a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in every month to October 2027. We also scored the hotel's 100 most recent verified guest reviews ourselves: the mean out of 10, the share scoring 9 or more and the share under 7. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra.

The reviews are good across the board without a standout. Service came up in 68% of written reviews (averaging 9.31), breakfast and food in 29% each (9.18 and 9.27), and the spa in 24% (9.0), more than twice the brand-wide share (10.3%). Upgrades came up in 18% of reviews (8.86), against 4.4% brand-wide.
Two cost lines are easy to miss. Breakfast for two added $125–152 a night on the same room in March and July; in November and over New Year the breakfast rate was a pricier package, not comparable with room-only. And the taxes the hotel collects at checkout ran about $195–293 a night on top of the engine rate: on the $1,551 New Year night, about $293 more.
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, Month by Month

Late winter and early spring are the buy: $930–987 a night midweek from January to April. Summer is the dear season, $1,364–1,415 from June to August, and November ($1,248) and September ($1,284) sit in between. October 2027 had nothing on sale when we checked. Our 27–30 Dec stay ($1,551) cost far more than the third week of December in our monthly checks ($1,096): it is the Christmas and New Year week that carries the premium.
How It Compares in London
The 16 London luxury hotels we scored with at least 20 recent reviews, by the mean of each hotel's 100 most recent verified reviews (out of 10), then the share scoring 9 or more and the share under 7. † marks an older review window. Rates: lowest per night on 10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027 through our booking engine. Raffles London at The OWO and the Savoy were scored and priced on 3 October 2026, the others on 1 October 2026. A blank Forbes cell means we found no 2026 listing.

London is a strong field, and Hyde Park sits in its lower half on recent reviews. The Connaught leads at 9.79 (though it had no rooms on sale on any of our dates), then Raffles London at The OWO (9.54), the Cadogan (9.48), the Peninsula London (9.43) and the Lanesborough (9.42). Hyde Park's 9.12 ties the Berkeley and beats Four Seasons at Park Lane (9.00), Rosewood London (8.73) and its own sibling, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair (8.52). On awards it is in the top group: it holds Three MICHELIN Keys in 2026, as do the Connaught, Claridge's and the Peninsula London, while the Dorchester, the Berkeley and Rosewood London hold Two.
On price it sits mid-table. On our November stay it cost about the same as Raffles at The OWO, the Cadogan and Four Seasons at Park Lane ($1,128–1,136), more than the Savoy ($843) and Rosewood London ($948), and less than Claridge's ($1,626), the Dorchester ($1,569) and the Peninsula ($1,675). It was cheaper than the Berkeley, the Dorchester and the Peninsula on all four of our stays. Our read: for the money, Raffles at The OWO ($1,072–1,479), the Cadogan ($714–1,453) and the Savoy ($828–1,305) scored higher on our dates; Hyde Park earns its place when the spa, the Keys and a park-side address matter more than the last tenth of a point. The Hotel Behind the Numbers
The building dates from 1889, when it went up as Hyde Park Court, a gentleman's club with bachelor flats; it opened as the Hyde Park Hotel in 1902, and Mandarin Oriental bought it in November 1996. Its best-known quirk is the original park-side entrance, reserved for the Royal Family since King George V objected to the hotel's signage facing the park: permission is still needed to open it, which happens for VIPs and wedding couples. The latest renovation, by designer Joyce Wang, began in September 2016; a fire in June 2018 closed the hotel for six months, and it fully reopened on 15 April 2019.
Today it has 141 rooms and 40 suites; on the ninth floor, the Mandarin and Oriental penthouses can combine into a three-bedroom Mandarin Oriental Penthouse. Dining is about to change. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, here since 2011 and holder of Two MICHELIN stars, will close at the hotel in January 2027 after 16 years, so book a table before then if it is part of the reason you are coming. The Aubrey (an izakaya), The Rosebery (afternoon tea and all-day dining), the Mandarin Bar and Hyde Park Garden complete the line-up.
The spa, with interiors by Adam D. Tihany, has 13 treatment rooms, including a couple's Wellness Suite with a rasul, plus a Bastien Gonzalez Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio, a heated pool and a 24-hour Technogym fitness centre. Guests notice it: the spa came up in 24% of written reviews, averaging 9.0. In 2026 the hotel also offers a "Hyde Park Riders" package with Hyde Park Stables.
Rooms and Suites on Our Stays
The engine offered 13 to 18 room types on each of our stays, and the cheapest was the Superior King Room every time. The first suite was either the Sloane Suite ($1,763 a night in November, $1,550 in March) or the Mandarin Junior Suite ($2,140 over New Year, $2,122 in July). At the top, the Two Bedroom Hyde Park Suite cost $6,816–7,004 a night on our November and New Year stays, and the Family Suite $6,632 in March and $8,056 in July.
Hyde Park or Mayfair?
Mandarin Oriental runs two London hotels, and on our numbers they are not close. Hyde Park scored 9.12 with recent guests against 8.52 at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, where 13.7% of guests scored under 7 and noise came up in 12% of written reviews (averaging 5.67). Mayfair also cost far more: only suites were left on three of our four stays ($2,895–3,614 a night), and on the one stay where it sold a room, 12–15 Mar 2027, it cost $1,323 against $1,032 at Hyde Park. Mayfair holds Two MICHELIN Keys to Hyde Park's Three. We would book Hyde Park.
