Every room, photo and amenity at One&Only Le Saint Geran

One&Only Le Saint Géran sits on its own peninsula at Belle Mare in Mauritius, in what Forbes Travel Guide describes as "60 acres of tropical gardens" with "more than a mile of powder-white sand". It closed for nine months in 2017 for a full renovation and reopened that December, and it is Forbes Five-Star for 2026.

Our verdict: book it for the setting, the food and the price outside the holidays, not for flawless service. Recent guests score it 9.05 out of 10, the lowest of the four luxury resorts we scored in Mauritius, and service is the topic that drags. But it was the cheapest of the four on our November stay, its cheapest rate included breakfast on every stay we checked, and the reviews that mention the food average 9.64. It suits couples best (they wrote 54% of recent reviews) and groups of friends; families get a dedicated kids' club and a teen centre, but read our numbers on how families rate it first.

Every One&Only is priced side by side on our One&Only prices page and ranked on the best One&Only resorts.

Le Saint Géran in Brief

  • Recent guests score it 9.05 out of 10 (75% at 9 or more, 8% under 7): fourth of the four luxury resorts we scored in Mauritius, and seventh of the nine One&Only resorts we could rank.
  • Food is the strength: it comes up in 41% of written reviews, and those reviews average 9.64. Service is the weak spot: 70% mention it, averaging 8.37.
  • The cheapest rate included breakfast on all four of our test stays: $1,174 a night for 10–13 Nov 2026, $975 for 12–15 Mar 2027 and $605 for 15–18 Jul 2027.
  • New Year is the exception: $3,695 a night for 27–30 Dec 2026, against $1,214 for a midweek stay in the third week of December.
  • May to September is the cheapest stretch in our monthly checks ($924–938 a night); January is the priciest ($1,802).

One&Only Le Saint Géran by Our Numbers

On 3 October 2026 we priced One&Only Le Saint Géran through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com) for two adults on four test stays and on a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in every month to October 2027, and we scored its 100 most recent verified guest reviews ourselves. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking; taxes the resort collects at checkout are extra. Live rates change daily, so treat these as the rates on 3 October 2026.

The calendar splits the year in two. From May to September 2027 the rate barely moved, at $924–938 a night; from November to April it ran $1,214–1,802, with January the dearest month at nearly double August's rate. The holiday week is its own market: $3,695 a night for 27–30 Dec 2026, about three times the $1,214 we found for a midweek stay earlier that month, so if your December dates can move a week earlier, move them. October 2027 had no rooms on sale when we checked.

Our Read on the Comparison

On guest reviews, Le Saint Géran trails the island's other luxury resorts. Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury scores 9.64 (on older reviews reaching back to 2012), Constance Prince Maurice 9.40 and Four Seasons Anahita 9.29, and all three have a smaller share of guests under 7 (2.2%, 2% and 7%, against 8% here). Service is where the gap opens: at Le Saint Géran the reviews that mention it average 8.37, against the resort's overall 9.05. The food is the counterweight, at 9.64 across the 41% of reviews that bring it up.

On price it holds up. It was the cheapest of the four on our November stay ($1,174), and second-cheapest in March ($975) and July ($605), behind only Constance Prince Maurice ($580 and $489). Anahita sold only villas on our dates and cost the most on every stay where it had rooms. Over New Year, Le Saint Géran ($3,695) was the dearest of the two with rooms on sale; Royal Palm and Anahita had none. Our pick: Constance Prince Maurice for value and consistency, Royal Palm if you can live with older reviews, and Le Saint Géran when the peninsula setting, the restaurants and a Forbes Five-Star matter more than polish.

The Resort: Rooms, Restaurants and the Lagoon

The room ladder, on our dates: the cheapest rooms are the Sunset Room Balcony (King or Queen), with a Lagoon Room Balcony the cheapest bookable room over New Year; the first suite is the Beach Front Junior Suite, from $926 a night in July to $7,154 over New Year; and at the top sit the multi-bedroom villas and homes, led by a five-bedroom ocean-front villa with its own pool at $10,308 a night in November. The engine offered 46 to 65 room types on our non-holiday stays.

Forbes Travel Guide lists five places to eat: La Terrasse (all day, outdoors), La Pointe (casual lunch), Prime (steakhouse), Tapasake (Asian small plates) and L'Artisan (bakery and coffee). For families there is a Kids Only club and the One Tribe teen centre, and Club One fitness has a padel court. The boathouse lends paddleboards, kayaks, windsurfers and snorkel gear for the sheltered lagoon at no charge. One&Only also rents out Private Homes in Mauritius.
