On Passeig de Gràcia since 1918 and still run by the founding family, a block from La Pedrera: 275 rooms and suites, a collection of some 1,000 modern artworks (Tàpies, Plensa, Anish Kapoor), SOLC for Mediterranean cooking, and El Bar del Majestic with live piano several evenings a week, an easy room for one. La Dolce Vitae on the roof has an open-air, unheated plunge pool, with its bar open in summer, and a view across most of the city; the spa below has a 12-meter heated pool.
