How It Works at ATL
Atlanta has two passenger terminals: domestic on the airfield’s western edge and the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal on the east, with the concourses strung between them along the underground Plane Train. Nearly everything connects airside, which is ATL’s great hidden convenience: domestic connections rarely require re-clearing security no matter how far apart the gates are.
The catch is landside: the two terminals have separate kerbs several miles apart by road, and a pickup at the wrong one is Atlanta’s classic arrival mistake. Your greeter establishes which building you’ll actually walk out of (international arrivals generally exit on the international side), and stages the chauffeur there, not at whichever entrance a navigation app guessed.
