International flights use Terminal 1 on the north-western side of the airport, while Terminals 2 and 3 carry the domestic network across the runways. There is no airside link between the two precincts; transferring means going landside, via an airline’s own connection service where one is offered (Qantas runs one for its connecting passengers), the airport rail link, or a short road transfer, so a generous buffer on international-to-domestic connections is not optional.
