Capella Bangkok: Rates, Rooms & How to Book the No. 1

Capella Bangkok opened in late 2020 into an empty city and used the quiet to perfect itself; by 2024 it was named No. 1 in The World's 50 Best Hotels, and in 2026 it was No. 2 in The 50 Best Hotels and was promoted to Three MICHELIN Keys, the crown jewel of the Capella portfolio. The proposition is simple and rare: every one of the 101 keys faces the Chao Phraya, the building hugs the river low and horizontal (no tower-hotel remoteness), and the service hits Aman intensity with Thai warmth.

The bill is the plot twist, though not quite the one you might expect. On our 3 October 2026 checks the entry Riverfront rooms cost $684–813 a night outside the holidays, breakfast included, which we think is modest for a hotel with this record. But Capella was also the dearest of the seven Bangkok luxury hotels we priced on every one of our four test stays. Mauro Colagreco's Côte holds a Michelin star; Phra Nakhon does Thai breakfast better than anywhere in the city.

Capella Bangkok by Our Numbers

On 3 October 2026 we priced Capella Bangkok through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com) on the same four stays we check at every hotel: 10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027, two adults, lowest rate per night. We also priced a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in every month to October 2027, and we scored the hotel's 100 most recent verified guest reviews ourselves (the mean out of 10, the share scoring 9 or more and the share under 7). Rates are what the engine charged at booking; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra. Live rates change daily, so read these as the rates on 3 October 2026.

What the Scores Say

Service carries the reviews: 84% of written reviews mention it, averaging 9.51, and the views score highest of any topic (9.85 in the 16% of reviews that mention them). The spa (20% of reviews, 9.65) and food (29%, 9.58) hold up too. The weak spots are the pool, which averages 8.33 in the 7% of reviews that mention it, and breakfast (18%, 9.33). The guest mix is broad: couples write about a third of the reviews (32%), but families (22%), groups (19%) and solo travelers (16%) are all well represented, and 11% travel on business.

When to Go

Capella Bangkok has two seasons on our calendar. From November to March the same two midweek nights cost $981–1,002 a night; from April to October, a flat $799. Our test stays ran lower than the calendar on some dates ($813 in mid-November, $785 in mid-March, $684 in mid-July), so price your exact nights. The exception is the holiday week: over 27–30 December 2026 the cheapest rate was $1,807, room only and non-refundable, with only 13 room types still on sale when we checked.

Capella or Its Bangkok Rivals?

On guest scores the top four sit between 9.58 and 9.65, so Capella, the Four Seasons, the Ritz-Carlton (on only 29 reviews) and the Mandarin Oriental are effectively level; Capella is second, behind the Four Seasons' 9.65. Price is where they part. Capella was the dearest of the seven on every test stay: $813 in November against $681 at the Four Seasons and $659 at the Mandarin Oriental, and $1,807 over New Year against $896 and $1,496. Its cheapest rate included breakfast on three of the four stays, which narrows the gap, and only Capella and the Mandarin Oriental hold Three MICHELIN Keys among the hotels on the list.
