Capella Prices: What Each Hotel Costs, Month by Month

Capella is a small brand with a big reputation, and its prices are hard to pin down: its hotels run from a beach resort on Hainan to a tented camp in the Balinese rainforest, and two of its ten, Capella at Galaxy Macau and Capella Kyoto, do not sell through our booking engine at all. So we priced the other eight ourselves. On 3 October 2026 we checked the same four stays at every Capella on our platform through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com): 10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027, two adults, lowest rate per night. We also priced a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in every month from November 2026 to October 2027. Rates are what the engine charged at booking; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra. Live rates change daily: these were the rates on 3 October 2026.

The short version: a Capella night cost $400–2,167 on our test stays, and the median lowest rate ran from $684 in mid-July to $1,423 over New Year. Breakfast is usually already in the cheapest rate, free cancellation usually costs little or nothing, and the cheapest months are May to September. What the Cheapest Room Gets You

A lowest rate means little until you know what it buys. The table takes one ordinary week, our 12–15 March 2027 stay, and shows the room behind each hotel's lowest rate, whether breakfast and free cancellation came with it, and where the ladder goes from there. Capella Shanghai, Jian Ye Li had no rooms that week.

What Suites, Free Cancellation and Taxes Add

Suites first. Across the brand, the cheapest suite cost a median 1.49x–1.88x the cheapest room on our four stays, and the exceptions run both ways. At Capella Hanoi the Junior Suite was $959 in March against an $876 room, and in November and over New Year only suites were left anyway ($1,136 and $2,167 a night). At Capella Taipei the first suite cost $3,375–6,654 a night against rooms at $868–1,063, more than three times the room. Capella Ubud sells no suites at all: its dearest tent topped out at $1,799–2,065.

Free cancellation is usually cheap or free. The cheapest rate was already refundable at Capella Taipei on all four stays and at Capella Bangkok and Capella Singapore on three. The exceptions matter. Every cheapest rate at Capella Hanoi was non-refundable; the flexible rate cost $1,176 against $1,136 in November, but $771 against $576 in July. At Capella Ubud three of four cheapest rates were non-refundable, and flexibility cost $1,599 against $1,070 in November and $1,289 against $841 in March. At Capella Sydney it was $920 against $817 in November and $739 against $664 in July.

Taxes collected at checkout vary more than the rates do. Capella Singapore added about $84–121 a night on our stays, Capella Bangkok about $45–119 and Capella Tufu Bay about $45–64. Capella Sydney collected about $77 a night on the November stay and nothing on the other three. Capella Hanoi and Capella Taipei collected nothing at the hotel on any of our stays, and Capella Ubud only over New Year (about $158 a night).

When to Go

Across the brand, the median Capella rate on our calendar was lowest from May to September ($799 a night in each month) and highest in February ($1,112), with April ($827) and March ($858) close to the floor. But each hotel keeps its own season. Capella Hanoi and Capella Bangkok are the clearest bargains in the northern summer: Hanoi sat at $524 a night from May to September against $879 in February, and Bangkok at $799 from April onward against $981–1,002 from November to March. Capella Sydney runs the other way, cheapest in July ($625), June and the third week of December ($626) and dearest in February ($1,112). Capella Singapore was flat at $986–1,017 for most of the year, with spikes in the third week of November ($1,788), February ($1,588) and April ($1,395). Capella Ubud was cheapest in January ($1,124) and December ($1,137) and dearest in November ($1,797).

Capella Taipei is among the steadiest: $773–911 a night in every month from November to September, cheapest in November and December and dearest in May. Capella Tufu Bay, Hainan is the cheapest Capella on our calendar ($414–594), but it had no rooms on our engine in January and February 2027. "No rooms" means nothing was bookable for those dates, whether sold out, closed or not on sale, and the engine does not tell us which. Capella Shanghai, Jian Ye Li is the extreme case: rooms only in November, December, January, February and April, at $1,902–1,950 a night, and none from May onward or on any of our four test stays. If Shanghai is on your list, ask us to request your dates directly. Looking a full year out, October 2027 showed rooms only at Capella Singapore ($1,017) and Capella Bangkok ($799); the others had nothing bookable when we checked.

How to Pay Less at Capella

Move the dates first. On our calendar the same two midweek nights cost $524 at Capella Hanoi from May to September against $879 in February, $625 at Capella Sydney in July against $1,112 in February, and $799 at Capella Bangkok from April against $1,002 in February. Holiday weeks cost most: the median lowest rate over New Year (27–30 Dec 2026) was $1,423 a night, against $684 in mid-July.

Then pick the rate deliberately. Most Capella rates already include breakfast, so a room-only rate elsewhere is not automatically the cheaper night: compare with-breakfast rates with with-breakfast rates. Where flexibility is free or nearly free (Bangkok, Singapore and Taipei on most dates), take the refundable rate; where it costs real money (Hanoi and Ubud), take the non-refundable rate only when your dates are fixed.

Finally, use the channel. Capella has been part of the Global Hotel Alliance's GHA DISCOVERY programme since 2019, free to join, and since June 2024 GHA DISCOVERY Titanium members get complimentary breakfast at Capella hotels on direct bookings. Short notice is not a bar: our desk booked an eleven-night stay at Capella Sydney in May 2026 two days before arrival, at about $716 a night.
