Cathay Pacific Aria Suite (2026): Is It Worth It, Which US Routes Have It, What It Costs and How to Book It With Miles
Cathay's first business class with a door, arriving 777 by 777 on the Hong Kong routes while the A350s keep the older seat. Here is what our data says about where the Aria Suite flies, how to tell which flights have it, what it costs and how to book it for less.

The Short Answer
- Worth it when you get it: the Aria Suite is a 1-2-1 with a sliding door, a 4K screen and wireless charging, on the refitted 777-300ERs only. Cathay's A350s and the unrefitted 777s carry the earlier reverse-herringbone seat without a door, a good business class that is now a generation behind, at the same fare.
- Cathay Pacific flies seven nonstop routes between the US and its network in our schedule snapshot (between 19 August and 2 September 2026), and our own pages or first class route map name Aria Suite on every one.
- Our Hong Kong page's published fare bands for the US routes are the cost anchor below; Cathay's business fares from the US are mid-table for Asia, and its sourced fares are among the easiest to find.
- Two miles doors: 85,000 miles through Cathay Asia Miles and 70,000 miles through American AAdvantage; AAdvantage is the cheaper and the one that adds no surcharge.
- Against Qatar Airways Qsuite: the two seats are level on the door and the screen; Qsuite has the double bed and the quad, Cathay has the nonstop. For Hong Kong itself and most of East Asia, the Aria Suite's nonstop beats a Doha stop; for the Indian Ocean, the Gulf and Africa, Qsuite is the route.
Is the Aria Suite Worth It?
Yes, and the booking skill is picking the aircraft. Cathay flew the first Aria Suite in October 2024 on a refitted 777-300ER, and it is the first Cathay business class with a door: a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone layout, a sliding door at every seat, a 24-inch 4K screen, Bluetooth audio, wireless charging and more storage than the seat it replaces. The cabin it replaces is the reverse-herringbone Cathay has flown since 2011, a seat that set the standard for a decade and is still comfortable; the A350-900s and A350-1000s carry an updated version of it and will for years.
What stays the same is the rest of the Cathay product: The Pier and The Wing at Hong Kong, which our desk rates with the best business class lounges anywhere, the Hong Kong catering, and the connection bank at Hong Kong that reaches most of Asia within three hours. Cathay First, the six-seat cabin at the front of the same 777-300ERs, is the cabin in front; our Cathay Pacific First Class guide tracks it.
Where it is not worth a detour: a route where the aircraft on your date is an A350, which is fine, or an unrefitted 777, which is the same seat on an older aircraft. Cathay sells one business fare per route whatever the cabin. For the seat alone, ANA The Room to Tokyo is a different class; for Hong Kong, the Aria Suite nonstop is the best way in from the US when the aircraft is right.
The Seat
Layout: 1-2-1 with a sliding door, a 4K screen and wireless charging, replacing the reverse-herringbone business class without a door as each 777-300ER is refitted. Fitted: 777-300ER (refitted aircraft, rolling across the fleet). Not fitted: the A350-900 and A350-1000, which keep the earlier reverse-herringbone business class without a door; any 777-300ER not yet refitted.
The reverse-herringbone layout angles every seat toward the window side and away from the aisle, so the window seats are private even with the door open and the centre pairs face away from each other, with a divider that lowers for two travelling together. Cathay's seat map draws the Aria Suite with doors; the older cabin shows the same 1-2-1 without them, which is how to tell the aircraft apart at booking.
Every Cathay Pacific Route From the US
Every nonstop pair between a US airport and Cathay Pacific's network in our schedule snapshot (between 19 August and 2 September 2026), with the great-circle distance and the gate-to-gate estimate our route pages use. Cathay Pacific flies Aria Suite and an older cabin side by side, so the aircraft on your date decides; the last column says where our own pages or our first class route map name Aria Suite, and "schedule only" means we have not confirmed the cabin on that route.

Which US Cities Have the Aria Suite
Seven US airports have a nonstop Aria Suite route in our data: Boston (one route), Chicago (one route), Dallas/Fort Worth (one route), Los Angeles (one route), New York JFK (one route) and San Francisco (one route), and one more airports. The busiest far ends are Hong Kong.
Every Cathay route from the US runs to Hong Kong, from Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, New York JFK, San Francisco and Seattle in our snapshot, checked between 19 August and 2 September 2026. The 777-300ER flies the longest of them (New York, Boston, Chicago and Dallas) more often than the A350 does, so those are where the refitted aircraft turns up most; the West Coast routes mix the two. Cathay rolls the refitted 777s across its network and swaps them between routes, so the seat map on your date is the only reliable guide.
What the Aria Suite Costs
Cathay sells one business fare per route whatever the aircraft, so the Aria Suite costs what Cathay business costs. The dated anchors are the published bands our Hong Kong page gives for the US routes.
Published Fare Bands on Aria Suite Routes
The typical published round-trip business class ranges our destination pages give for Hong Kong, each dated by its page; the notes say which airlines and routings the band covers.
| Destination | Route | Typical published fare | Notes | As of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hong Kong | From the U.S. West Coast | $4,200–$7,500 round trip | Cathay from LAX and SFO, United from SFO; under $4,500 retail is a good result (as of August 2026). | October 2026 |
| Hong Kong | From the U.S. East Coast | $4,800–$8,500 round trip | Cathay’s JFK nonstop runs about 16 hours; one-stops can undercut it. | October 2026 |
| Hong Kong | From London | £2,800–£5,500 round trip | BA and Cathay compete nonstop on Heathrow–HKG, which keeps the route honest. | October 2026 |
Booking the Aria Suite With Miles, and for Less Than the Published Fare
Cathay Asia Miles: 85,000 miles one-way in Cathay Pacific business class from the US West Coast to Hong Kong, the standard-level one-way the Asia Miles guide gives, plus surcharges (as of June 2026).
American AAdvantage: 70,000 miles one-way in Cathay Pacific business class from the US to Hong Kong, the published partner award for business class between North America and Asia (as of June 2026).
Asia Miles sees Cathay's own award space, which is the wider of the two, and adds Cathay's surcharges; AAdvantage sees only what Cathay releases to partners, at a lower miles price with no surcharge, and Alaska Atmos Rewards books the same partner space at its own chart. Nothing in the award systems marks an Aria Suite flight, so an award on the new cabin is a matter of picking the right flight and date. Our Asia Miles guide has the chart and the transfer partners.
Below the published fare, Cathay is one of the most sourceable airlines across the Pacific, and a sourced business fare on a Hong Kong nonstop typically lands well under the published band, more so from the East Coast. Send the dates and we price the sourced fare against the two awards and tell you which flights have the new cabin.
Aria Suite vs Qatar Airways Qsuite
On the seat, the two are the closest pair in this library: both 1-2-1 with a sliding door and a large screen, Cathay's newer by seven years and with the better screen, Qatar's with the double bed and the quad lounge for groups, which Cathay's layout cannot do. On the ground, The Pier at Hong Kong and the Al Mourjan lounge at Doha are both at the top of the business class table.
On the route, they rarely compete head-on. Qatar Airways Qsuite reaches Asia with a Doha stop; Cathay reaches Hong Kong nonstop and most of East and Southeast Asia with one short connection. For Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines and Vietnam, the Aria Suite's routing is shorter; for the Maldives, the Gulf, India's west and Africa, Qsuite's is. On miles, both price through AAdvantage at the same partner chart, Qatar at 70,000 to the Middle East and Cathay at 70,000 to Asia.
Our pick: the Aria Suite on a confirmed 777-300ER for Hong Kong and East Asia; Qsuite for the Indian Ocean and the Gulf; and on a date when the Cathay aircraft is an A350, the better fare. The desk prices both on every Asia quote where the routing allows.
The Traps We Steer Clients Around
The aircraft. An Aria Suite booking is a Cathay business booking, and Cathay swaps A350s and unrefitted 777s onto every route. Check the seat map at booking and a week out; doors drawn on the map mean the suite.
The Asia Miles surcharge. Cathay's own program adds carrier charges to an award on its own flights; AAdvantage books the same seat with none, at fewer miles, when it can see the space. Compare all-in.
The connection bank. Hong Kong's onward flights cluster in the morning and the evening; a US arrival that misses the bank waits hours. The desk builds the connection into the quote rather than letting the booking engine choose.
Where These Numbers Come From
Every route in the table is checked against the schedule snapshot behind our route pages (between 19 August and 2 September 2026), so a route appears only if the airline flies it nonstop; distance and flight time are the same estimates those pages use. The last column says how our own data knows Aria Suite is on it: "the aircraft in our first class map" means the aircraft that carries Aria Suite is the one our first class route data lists on the pair; "named on our page" means the destination page for one end of the route names Aria Suite in its airline notes. Seat facts are Cathay Pacific's published description of the cabin as of October 2026; award prices are the programs' published charts or our desk library, dated where quoted.
The fare bands are quoted from our Hong Kong page, dated on the page; the 777-300ER is also the aircraft our Cathay Pacific First Class guide tracks, since Cathay First flies in the cabin ahead of the Aria Suite.
Cathay Pacific Aria Suite FAQs
Is the Cathay Pacific Aria Suite worth it?
Yes when you get it: Cathay's first business class with a sliding door, a 24-inch 4K screen and wireless charging in a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone layout, at the same fare as the older cabin. It is on the refitted 777-300ERs only; the A350s and the unrefitted 777s carry the earlier seat without a door, so the aircraft on your date is the whole question.
Which routes have the Aria Suite from the US?
Cathay flies seven nonstop routes to Hong Kong, from Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, New York JFK, San Francisco and Seattle, in our schedule snapshot (between 19 August and 2 September 2026), and the Aria Suite flies on whichever of them has a refitted 777-300ER on the day, the longest East Coast and Midwest routes most often. The table above lists every route; Cathay's seat map, with doors drawn in, shows which flights have the suite.
Which Cathay aircraft have the Aria Suite?
The refitted 777-300ERs, rolling across the fleet since October 2024. The A350-900 and A350-1000 keep the earlier reverse-herringbone business class without a door, as does any 777-300ER not yet refitted.
How much does the Aria Suite cost?
What Cathay business costs on the route, whatever the aircraft: the fares table above quotes the published business class bands our Hong Kong page gives for the US routes, each dated. A sourced fare through our desk comes in well below the band, more so from the East Coast.
How do I book the Aria Suite with miles?
Cathay Asia Miles: 85,000 miles one-way in Cathay Pacific business class from the US West Coast to Hong Kong, the standard-level one-way the Asia Miles guide gives, plus surcharges (as of June 2026). American AAdvantage: 70,000 miles one-way in Cathay Pacific business class from the US to Hong Kong, the published partner award for business class between North America and Asia (as of June 2026). Asia Miles sees more space and adds Cathay's surcharges; AAdvantage sees less, costs fewer miles and adds none. Nothing marks an Aria Suite flight in either system, so the desk picks the flight with the refitted aircraft.
Aria Suite or Qatar Airways Qsuite?
Level on the seat: both have a door, Qsuite the double bed and the quad, Cathay the newer cabin and the better screen. The route decides: the Aria Suite nonstop for Hong Kong and East Asia, Qsuite through Doha for the Indian Ocean, the Gulf and Africa. On a date when Cathay flies an A350, the better fare.
