Qatar Airways Qsuite (2026): Is It Worth It, Every US Route, What It Costs and How to Book It With Miles
The business class seat other airlines are measured against, on a one-stop network that reaches most of Asia, Africa and the Indian Ocean from a dozen US cities. Here is what our data says about where it flies, what it costs and how to sit in it for less.

The Short Answer
- Worth it for a one-stop trip to Asia, the Indian Ocean, East Africa or the Gulf: Qsuite is a closed suite with a door, a double bed in the centre pairs and a quad for four, and the Doha connection is short. For Europe, a nonstop in a lesser seat usually wins on time.
- Qatar Airways flies twelve nonstop routes between the US and its network in our schedule snapshot (between 19 August and 2 September 2026), and our own pages or first class route map name Qsuite on every one.
- Our Doha page's published fare bands for the US routes, and our one-stop bands for the Maldives and Bangkok, are the cost anchor below; a sourced fare through our desk lands under them.
- Two miles doors price it at 70,000 miles one-way through American AAdvantage and 70,000 Avios one-way through British Airways Avios before surcharges.
- Against Emirates business: Qsuite wins on the seat on every aircraft that has it; Emirates wins when the A380 and the Dubai bar matter more than a door, and on the routes Qatar flies a 787-8 or an older 777.
Is Qsuite Worth It?
Yes, when the trip is one stop anyway. Qsuite is the seat most business class cabins launched since 2017 have copied: a sliding door, a seat that reclines to a fully flat bed without a footwell squeeze, a large screen, dine-on-demand and, in the centre pairs, a divider that drops to make a double bed. Nobody else sells a quad: the four centre seats of alternate rows face each other and open into one lounge, which is why families and teams ask for it by name.
The honest caveat is the aircraft. Qatar flies Qsuite on 777-300ER (most of the fleet), A350-1000, A350-900 (part of the fleet), 787-9; it is not on 787-8, A330, the older 777s and A350-900s still carrying the 2-2-2 cabin. On the US routes the 777-300ER and A350-1000 do most of the flying, so Qsuite is the usual outcome, but it is not a guarantee, and the seat map at booking is the only proof. Our desk checks the aircraft on the exact date before it prices a Qatar itinerary, and swaps to a different flight or day when an older cabin is rostered.
Where it is not worth paying for: a US to Europe trip. Qatar sells Doha one-stops to European cities at keen fares, but the detour adds six or more hours against a nonstop, and a nonstop in United Airlines Polaris or British Airways Club Suite gets most people there rested for less time. Qsuite earns its reputation east and south of Doha.
The Seat
Layout: 1-2-1 with a sliding door on every seat; the four centre seats convert to a quad lounge and the centre pairs to a double bed. Every seat has direct aisle access and a door; the rear-facing seats in the centre are the ones that pair into a double bed, and the forward-facing window seats are the private picks for a solo traveller. Qatar's dine-on-demand menu runs from take-off to landing, and the amenity kit and bedding are the same across the fleet.
Fitted: 777-300ER (most of the fleet); A350-1000; A350-900 (part of the fleet); 787-9. Not fitted: 787-8; A330; the older 777s and A350-900s still carrying the 2-2-2 cabin. Qatar has shown the next generation of the suite for its newest aircraft, with a taller door and a larger screen; the cabins flying to the US in 2026 are the original design.
Every Qatar Airways Route From the US
Every nonstop pair between a US airport and Qatar Airways's network in our schedule snapshot (between 19 August and 2 September 2026), with the great-circle distance and the gate-to-gate estimate our route pages use. Qatar Airways flies Qsuite and an older cabin side by side, so the aircraft on your date decides; the last column says where our own pages or our first class route map name Qsuite, and "schedule only" means we have not confirmed the cabin on that route.

Which US Cities Have Qsuite
Twelve US airports have a nonstop Qsuite route in our data: Atlanta (one route), Boston (one route), Chicago (one route), Dallas/Fort Worth (one route), Houston (one route) and Los Angeles (one route), and six more airports. The busiest far ends are Doha.
All twelve routes run to Doha, so the choice is really about the connection: Qatar's own flights fan out from Hamad to the Maldives, Bangkok, Singapore, Bali, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Zanzibar, the Seychelles, Mumbai and Delhi within an hour or two of the US arrival. Our destination pages name Qsuite on every one of the US routes, and the schedule behind the table was checked between 19 August and 2 September 2026.
What Qsuite Costs
Qatar prices by origin and season more than by seat, and the same Qsuite flight can be a bargain from one US city and full fare from the next. The dated anchors are the published bands our destination pages give for Doha and for the two one-stop destinations people fly Qsuite to most, the Maldives and Bangkok.
Published Fare Bands on Qsuite Routes
The typical published round-trip business class ranges our destination pages give for Doha, the Maldives and Bangkok, each dated by its page; the notes say which airlines and routings the band covers.
| Destination | Route | Typical published fare | Notes | As of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Doha | From the U.S. East Coast and eastern Canada | $4,500–$9,000 round trip | Qatar Airways nonstop from New York JFK in about 13h40m, Toronto in about 13h45m and Miami in about 15h30m, with Boston and Washington on the same map. Published fares as of September 2026, quoted in U.S. dollars; Toronto originations price separately in Canadian dollars. Our sourced fares land under this. | September 2026 |
| Doha | From the U.S. West Coast | $5,000–$10,500 round trip | Los Angeles in about 16h45m and San Francisco in about 16h20m, both on Qatar Airways and both among the longest flights either airport sees; Seattle joins them at about 15h. | September 2026 |
| Doha | From London and the UK | £2,800–£5,500 round trip | British Airways and Qatar Airways go head to head on Heathrow at about 6h55m, with a Qatar Gatwick departure underneath them: among the most competitive gateways into Doha in Europe, and one of only a few with two airlines on the pair. | September 2026 |
| Doha | From continental Europe | €2,400–€4,800 round trip | Nonstop from Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Frankfurt and Munich, between about five and three-quarter and six and three-quarter hours each, and from Rome, Milan, Zurich, Geneva, Vienna, Copenhagen and Madrid besides. Qatar is the only carrier on all of those pairs bar Madrid, where Iberia flies alongside it, so fares mostly track its own inventory rather than a fare war. | September 2026 |
| Doha | From Asian and Pacific hubs | $2,200–$5,000 round trip | Bangkok about 6h55m, Singapore about 8h05m, Hong Kong about 8h10m, Shanghai about 8h45m, Seoul about 9h05m, Tokyo about 10h35m. Sydney, at about 15h35m, prices above this band; the Dubai hop sits far below it. | September 2026 |
| Doha | Peak (November to March, plus event weekends) | Top of every range above | The pleasant season, the Formula 1 round at Lusail, which lands in this window, National Day on 18 December and the winter conference calendar all fall in the same stretch. Discounted business inventory tightens well before the fare itself moves; give it three to five months. | September 2026 |
| the Maldives | From the U.S. East Coast (one-stop) | $5,000–$9,000 round trip | As of August 2026; Gulf one-stops dominate, peaking over Christmas–New Year. | September 2026 |
| the Maldives | From the U.S. West Coast (one-stop) | $5,500–$10,000 round trip | Via the Gulf or Singapore: one clean connection either way. | September 2026 |
| the Maldives | From the UK and Europe | $3,500–$6,500 round trip | BA’s nonstop prices at the top; Gulf one-stops undercut it. | September 2026 |
| Bangkok | From the U.S. West Coast | $3,800–$9,500 round trip | United nonstop from Los Angeles, about 16h45m, or a one-stop over Tokyo, Taipei, Seoul or Hong Kong. Published fares as of September 2026; our sourced fares land under this. | October 2026 |
| Bangkok | From the U.S. East Coast | $5,200–$10,500 round trip | One stop either way round the world (Doha or Dubai eastbound, Tokyo or Seoul westbound), at broadly similar elapsed times. | October 2026 |
| Bangkok | From London and the UK | £2,200–£5,500 round trip | Thai and EVA from Heathrow, British Airways from Gatwick, against Gulf and Istanbul one-stops that regularly undercut all three. | October 2026 |
| Bangkok | From continental Europe | €3,000–€6,000 round trip | Nonstops from Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Amsterdam, Rome, Madrid and Copenhagen; the more carriers on your city pair, the softer the fare. | October 2026 |
| Bangkok | From Gulf and Asian hubs (DXB, DOH, SIN, HKG, NRT) | $1,200–$4,500 round trip | Two to seven hours in the air, and the cheapest lie-flat seats into Bangkok from anywhere. | October 2026 |
| Bangkok | Peak (mid-December to early January, and Songkran) | Top of every range above | Northern-winter holiday traffic and the April water festival; business cabins sell out ahead of economy on the European nonstops. | October 2026 |
Booking Qsuite With Miles, and for Less Than the Published Fare
American AAdvantage: 70,000 miles one-way in Qatar Airways business class from the US to Doha, the published partner award for business class between North America and the Middle East (as of June 2026).
British Airways Avios: 70,000 Avios one-way in Qatar Airways business class from the US to Doha, Qatar Privilege Club and British Airways share Avios, and Qatar's own flights price by distance band from about this level on an off-peak date (as of June 2026).
Three things decide whether the award is good value. Qatar's own flights carry modest surcharges through AAdvantage and heavier ones through Avios, so quote the all-in figure. Award space in Qsuite opens in waves and favours the Doha-bound direction from the US, so a one-way award out and a sourced fare back is the combination our desk uses most. And the award seat is a Qatar Airways business seat, not a Qsuite guarantee: the aircraft rule above applies to miles as much as to cash.
Below the published fare, two routes work. Qatar is a frequent sale carrier from the US, with Doha one-stops to Asia and Africa priced under the European nonstops several times a year, and our desk's sourced fares sit under the published figure on the dates the sales miss. Send the dates and we price Qsuite against the alternatives on both.
Qsuite vs Emirates Business Class
On the seat, Qsuite wins. Emirates' 777 business class is a 2-3-2 layout on most of the fleet, without direct aisle access for the middle seats and without a door; its A380 business is a 1-2-1 with the onboard bar, and its newest 777s and A350s carry a 1-2-1 with a door that is closer to Qsuite. Against Qatar's worst case (an older 777 in 2-2-2) and Emirates' best (the A380 upper deck), the gap narrows; against the usual aircraft on the US routes, it does not.
On the network, they overlap almost everywhere east of the Gulf, and Dubai is the bigger hub with more frequencies. Emirates' US network is a little wider, with nonstops to Seattle, Boston, Orlando and Newark alongside the cities both serve, and its fifth-freedom flights (Newark to Athens, New York to Milan) carry business class without touching Dubai. On price, the two trade blows by season; our desk prices both on every Gulf one-stop quote.
Our pick: Qsuite for the seat and for the Maldives, where Qatar's timings suit the seaplane transfers; Emirates for the A380 experience, for Dubai itself and for the cities Qatar does not serve nonstop from the US.
The Traps We Steer Clients Around
The aircraft swap. A Qsuite booking is a Qatar business class booking; an equipment change to a 787-8 or an older 777 leaves you in a 2-2-2 seat with no recourse beyond a goodwill gesture. Check the seat map at booking and again a week out, and prefer the flights the A350-1000 or a 777-300ER works.
The Doha connection length. Under two hours is comfortable at Hamad; a six-hour layover in the middle of the night is a long way from the suite you paid for. Qatar sells a stopover programme and the desk uses it when the connection is awkward.
The surcharge arithmetic on Avios. Qatar's own flights through Avios can carry several hundred dollars in charges each way; through AAdvantage the charges are lower. Compare all-in, not miles alone.
Where These Numbers Come From
Every route in the table is checked against the schedule snapshot behind our route pages (between 19 August and 2 September 2026), so a route appears only if the airline flies it nonstop; distance and flight time are the same estimates those pages use. The last column says how our own data knows Qsuite is on it: "the aircraft in our first class map" means the aircraft that carries Qsuite is the one our first class route data lists on the pair; "named on our page" means the destination page for one end of the route names Qsuite in its airline notes. Seat facts are Qatar Airways's published description of the cabin as of October 2026; award prices are the programs' published charts or our desk library, dated where quoted.
The fare bands are quoted from our Doha, Maldives and Bangkok pages, each dated on the page.
Qatar Airways Qsuite FAQs
Is Qsuite worth it?
For a one-stop trip east or south of Doha, yes: a door, a flat bed, a double bed in the centre pairs and the quad are better than most business cabins flying, and the Doha connection is short. For US to Europe, a nonstop in a lesser seat usually wins on time. Confirm the aircraft: Qsuite is on 777-300ER (most of the fleet), A350-1000, A350-900 (part of the fleet), 787-9, not 787-8, A330, the older 777s and A350-900s still carrying the 2-2-2 cabin.
Which routes have Qsuite from the US?
Qatar flies nonstop to Doha from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington Dulles in our schedule snapshot (between 19 August and 2 September 2026), and Qsuite is the usual cabin on all of them, aircraft permitting. The table above lists every route with its flight time.
How much does Qsuite cost?
Our Doha page's published bands for the US routes, and the one-stop bands for the Maldives and Bangkok, are in the fares table above, each dated; a sourced fare through our desk comes in below the published figure. Qatar runs US sales several times a year, so the right date matters more than the seat.
How do I book Qsuite with points?
American AAdvantage: 70,000 miles one-way in Qatar Airways business class from the US to Doha, the published partner award for business class between North America and the Middle East (as of June 2026). British Airways Avios: 70,000 Avios one-way in Qatar Airways business class from the US to Doha, Qatar Privilege Club and British Airways share Avios, and Qatar's own flights price by distance band from about this level on an off-peak date (as of June 2026). Quote the surcharges before transferring, and check the aircraft on the award flight: an award seat is a Qatar business seat, not a Qsuite guarantee.
Qsuite or Emirates business class?
Qsuite for the seat, on every aircraft that has it, and for the Maldives; Emirates for the A380, for Dubai and for the US cities Qatar does not serve nonstop. On the usual US aircraft the seat gap is wide; against the Emirates A380 upper deck it narrows. Our desk prices both on every Gulf one-stop.
Which US airport has the most Qsuite flights?
In our schedule snapshot every US gateway has one daily Doha route, so no airport stands out on frequency; the choice is the connection on the far side and the fare on your date. The gateways are Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington Dulles.
