The Peninsula Beverly Hills opened in 1991 at the corner of Wilshire and South Santa Monica, and in 2026 it holds Two MICHELIN Keys and a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star rating. It is not the flashiest property in Los Angeles; it is the one where the industry actually does its business, from breakfast meetings on the terrace to awards-season suites in January and February.
The building is low-rise French-Mediterranean, wrapped in gardens, with roughly 190 rooms including a set of freestanding villas. Rodeo Drive is a short walk; the studios are a manageable drive in most directions.
Rooms, Villas and the 24-Hour Check-In
Rooms are residential in feel rather than design-forward, with private balconies or patios on many categories. The villas are the draw for anyone staying more than a couple of nights: freestanding, garden-enclosed, with their own entrances and terraces, and used by exactly the people you would guess during Golden Globes and Oscars weeks.
The policy worth knowing is the 24-hour check-in: your day starts when you arrive, not at 3pm. Land at 7am off a red-eye and the room is yours from 7am, with checkout 24 hours later. For transpacific and transatlantic arrivals it is the single most valuable amenity in the hotel, and almost nobody else offers it.

The Roof Garden, The Belvedere and Awards Season
The rooftop pool and Roof Garden restaurant are where the hotel spends its days: cabanas, a long lunch culture, and views over the flatlands to the hills. The Belvedere handles dinner, and The Living Room does the afternoon tea and the after-work meeting-that-is-really-a-meeting.
Two practical notes. First, awards season (roughly early January through early March) books out months ahead at premium rates, and villas go first. Second, the service reputation is not marketing; staff turnover is famously low and the recall of returning guests' preferences is the best in American hospitality. If you plan to return, tell them what you like on the first stay.

The Peninsula Beverly Hills, Month by Month
Lowest rate per night for the same two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in each month, priced 1 October 2026. "No rooms" means nothing was bookable on our engine for those dates. October 2027 is left out: only four of the twelve Peninsulas had rooms on sale for it, and this was not one of them.

Our Read on the Numbers
The Peninsula Beverly Hills is the family Peninsula: families wrote 44% of its recent reviews and business travelers 14%, both the highest shares at any Peninsula with recent reviews. It scored 9.07 out of 10, seventh of the nine Peninsulas we could rank and fifth of the seven luxury hotels we scored in Los Angeles, and 11% of guests scored it under 7, tied with New York for the most in the brand. The pool is the hit (19% of written reviews, averaging 9.8, and reviews mentioning kids averaged 9.71); the dining is the miss, with food at 8.29 and breakfast at 8.33.
Its rates barely move through the year: our monthly checks ran from $1,077 (November and January) to $1,290 (August), one of the flattest calendars in the brand. Our 12–15 Mar 2027 test stay was the exception at $2,030, against $1,088–1,253 on the other three. The lowest rate was refundable on every stay, but breakfast for two adds more here than at most Peninsulas ($191–228 a night on three stays, $55 in March), and US taxes added about $167–192 a night at checkout on three of the four. On the numbers alone, Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel scored higher (9.24) and cost less on all four of our stays.

What is the 24-hour check-in policy?
Your stay is measured from your arrival time rather than a fixed afternoon check-in; arrive at 7am and the room is yours from 7am, with checkout 24 hours later. It is subject to availability but honoured far more often than not, and it is the best amenity in the hotel for long-haul arrivals.
How much does The Peninsula Beverly Hills cost?
On our 1 October 2026 checks the lowest rate was $1,253 a night for 10–13 Nov 2026, $1,088 for 27–30 Dec 2026, $2,030 for 12–15 Mar 2027 and $1,219 for 15–18 Jul 2027, plus about $167–192 a night in US taxes at checkout on three of those stays. Villas run well beyond: the cheapest Villa Studio was $1,559–2,475, and the top categories reached $3,927–5,447.
When is The Peninsula Beverly Hills cheapest?
November and January, in our monthly checks: $1,077 a night for a two-night midweek stay. August was the priciest month at $1,290 and every month we priced fell between the two, so dates matter less here than at most Peninsulas. September 2027 had no rooms on sale when we checked.
Is breakfast included at The Peninsula Beverly Hills?
Not in the cheapest rate on any of our stays. On the same room, breakfast for two added $228 a night in November, $191 over New Year and in July, and $55 in March, and the cheapest breakfast rate ran $1,380–2,085, so breakfast attached as a booking benefit is worth more here than at most Peninsulas.
Is it walkable to Rodeo Drive?
Yes, roughly ten minutes on foot. Century City is a short drive west, West Hollywood and the Sunset Strip about fifteen minutes north, though in Los Angeles you will still want a car or the hotel's house cars for most days.
Why is its service so highly rated?
Unusually low staff turnover and a guest-recall system the brand has refined for decades. Service came up in 72% of the written reviews we scored, more than at any Peninsula but Manila, and MICHELIN gave the hotel Two Keys in 2026.
