The Peninsula Beverly Hills opened in 1991 at the corner of Wilshire and South Santa Monica, and it has held a Forbes Five-Star rating continuously ever since — one of the longest unbroken runs of any hotel in the world. The Roof Garden, The Belvedere and Awards Season
The rooftop pool and Roof Garden restaurant are where the hotel spends its days — cabanas, a long lunch culture, and views over the flatlands to the hills. The Belvedere handles dinner, and The Living Room does the afternoon tea and the after-work meeting-that-is-really-a-meeting.
Two practical notes. First, awards season (roughly early January through early March) books out months ahead at premium rates, and villas go first. Second, the service reputation is not marketing — staff turnover is famously low and the recall of returning guests' preferences is the best in American hospitality.
