The Maybourne Beverly Hills: Rooms, Rates and Our Review

The Maybourne Beverly Hills is the group behind Claridge's and the Connaught doing California. It opened under the Maybourne name in 2020 in the former Montage Beverly Hills, bought by Maybourne's Qatari owners in December 2019, and it was the group's first hotel in North America: nine floors in the Golden Triangle, overlooking Beverly Cañon Gardens and one block from Rodeo Drive, with 201 rooms by the MICHELIN Guide's count.

Guests rate it higher than any other Los Angeles hotel we track: its 100 most recent verified reviews averaged 9.49 out of 10, the top score of the 7 Los Angeles luxury hotels we scored, a hundredth of a point ahead of Hotel Bel-Air, whose reviews run older. Forbes rates it Five-Star in 2026 (the second year running, the hotel says) with a Four-Star spa, and MICHELIN kept it at Two Keys. What it is not is easy to buy online: our engine had rooms on two of our four test stays and in one month of a twelve-month calendar. Our guide to all six Maybourne hotels puts it in the group's context.

Key Takeaways

  • Guests rate it 9.49 out of 10 across its 100 most recent reviews (September 2024 to August 2026), the top score of the 7 Los Angeles luxury hotels we scored; 88% gave it 9 or more and 6% under 7.
  • Same nights, same engine: $1,276 a night on 10–13 November 2026 and $1,079 on 27–30 December, below The Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air both times. Nothing was on sale for our March and July dates.
  • Rates were room only, with no breakfast-inclusive option, and the hotel collected about $202–239 a night in taxes on top. Breakfast is the weakest topic in its reviews: those that mention it averaged 8.86.
  • Suites start high: the Library Suite was $2,950 a night in November and $2,359 in December, and the Terrace Suite tops the ladder at $3,738.
  • Forbes Five-Star with a Four-Star spa (20,000 sq ft, 17 treatment rooms), Two MICHELIN Keys, and Dante Beverly Hills on the rooftop since 2023.
  • Our clients book it for autumn and summer, at a median of about $1,900 a night with taxes.

Rooms, the Rooftop and the Spa

Rooms were designed with Bryan O'Sullivan, who also worked on the Maybourne Riviera. On our November check the engine offered nine room types, from a Superior Room with two queen beds to the Terrace Suite, with the Library Suite as the first suite category.

The rooftop belongs to Dante Beverly Hills, which opened in 2023 as the first Dante outside New York; the hotel also runs The Terrace, The Maybourne Café, a cocktail and wine bar and The Whisky Bar. We found no MICHELIN-starred restaurant in the hotel. The Spa at The Maybourne covers 20,000 sq ft with 17 treatment rooms and a co-ed mineral pool, Forbes rates it Four-Star, and there is a rooftop pool on the 9th floor.

The Maybourne Beverly Hills by Our Numbers

On 1 October 2026 we priced the same stays at every hotel through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com) and scored the 100 most recent verified guest reviews at each hotel ourselves: the mean out of 10, the share scoring 9 or more and the share under 7. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged that day; the taxes the hotel collects at checkout (occupancy tax here) are extra. Our four test stays were 10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027, and we priced two midweek nights in the third week of every month for a year.

Two things set the score apart. It is recent: all 100 reviews date from September 2024 on, while the two Dorchester Collection hotels just behind it, Hotel Bel-Air (9.48) and The Beverly Hills Hotel (9.42), are scored on older review windows. And it holds up across what guests write about: service came up in 60% of written reviews and those averaged 9.65, food in 23% (9.71), and the spa in 13%, where the reviews averaged a perfect 10.0. Families wrote 38% of the reviews, and the 8% of written reviews that mention children averaged 10.0.

The soft spot is breakfast. It came up in 11% of written reviews, and those averaged 8.86, well under the hotel's 9.49. Neither of our priced stays offered a breakfast-inclusive rate, so budget for it separately.

How It Compares in Beverly Hills

On the two stays where it had rooms, the Maybourne undercut both Dorchester Collection hotels: $1,276 against $1,446 and $1,448 on 10–13 November, $1,079 against $1,323 and $1,347 on 27–30 December. The Peninsula Beverly Hills was close both times ($1,253 and $1,088), and Beverly Wilshire was the value play at $939 and $961. The catch is everything else: no rooms on our March and July stays, and on the twelve-month calendar only January priced, at $1,438, the dearest of the five that month. Every rival priced in at least ten of the eleven months from November to September.

Suites are where it gets expensive. Its cheapest suite on our November stay, the Library Suite, was $2,950 a night, more than the first suite category at any of the four rivals that week. Taxes collected at the hotel added about $239 a night to the November rate, the most of the five, and about $202 in December.

Our take, and it is only ours: for autumn and the holidays, the Maybourne is the Beverly Hills hotel we would book first, on reviews, and on price against the Dorchester pair. For spring and summer dates, when it had nothing on sale through our engine, The Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air are the like-for-like alternatives, with Three MICHELIN Keys each, and the Peninsula is the steady choice that had rooms nearly every month. Maybourne vs Dorchester Collection runs the full head-to-head, and our Los Angeles ranking covers the Sunset Strip and the beach.

What Our Desk Books

Our desk books the Maybourne Beverly Hills for autumn and summer stays, and the median night on those bookings came to about $1,900 with taxes included, well above the entry rates in our checks: budget for the room you actually want. For context, our clients' September stay at The Beverly Hills Hotel ran about $1,500 a night, and Beverly Wilshire, which our desk has booked three times, about $1,200 a night, usually within a week of arrival. Across the group, Maybourne hotels are among the most-booked on our desk over the past year.

Maybourne Beverly Hills FAQs

How much does The Maybourne Beverly Hills cost a night?

On 1 October 2026 our engine priced a Superior Room at $1,276 a night for 10–13 November 2026 and $1,079 for 27–30 December, room only with free cancellation; the hotel collects about $202–239 a night in taxes on top. The cheapest suite, the Library Suite, was $2,359 in December and $2,950 in November. Our clients' bookings run at a median of about $1,900 a night, taxes in.

When is The Maybourne Beverly Hills cheapest?

Of the dates we checked, 27–30 December 2026 was the cheapest, at $1,079 a night. On our twelve-month calendar of midweek stays, January was the only month with rooms on sale through our engine ($1,438), and our March and July test stays had none, so for spring and summer ask us to quote.

Is breakfast included at The Maybourne Beverly Hills?

Not in the rates we found: both priced stays were room only, with no breakfast-inclusive rate on offer. Breakfast is also the lowest-rated topic in its reviews: the 11% of written reviews that mention it averaged 8.86, against 9.49 for the hotel overall.

Is The Maybourne Beverly Hills better than The Beverly Hills Hotel?

On recent guest reviews, narrowly: 9.49 against 9.42, and The Beverly Hills Hotel's reviews are older. It was also cheaper on our November and December dates ($1,276 and $1,079 against $1,448 and $1,347). The Beverly Hills Hotel holds Three MICHELIN Keys to the Maybourne's Two, is No. 65 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026 and had rooms in every month from November to September on our calendar. Our take: the Maybourne for a modern stay with a serious spa, the Pink Palace for the legend.

Is The Maybourne Beverly Hills the best hotel in Los Angeles?

On recent guest reviews it leads the 7 Los Angeles luxury hotels we scored, at 9.49 out of 10, just ahead of Hotel Bel-Air (9.48) and The Beverly Hills Hotel (9.42), both on older reviews. The best hotel depends on the trip: our Los Angeles ranking covers the beach and Sunset Strip hotels we did not score.

What Biirdee Does

A concierge travel agency: paid by the hotel, never by you

Biirdee Travel books luxury hotels through preferred-partner programs: you pay the same rate as booking direct, the partner benefits attach to your reservation, and a human concierge handles the details end to end.

  1. Tell us the trip

Destination or property, rough dates, who’s traveling. The form takes two minutes and commits you to nothing.

  2. A concierge replies within hours

A real person checks availability, compares properties honestly, and confirms the perks your stay qualifies for: upgrades, breakfast, and credits where available.

  3. Book at the same rate as direct

The hotel pays our commission out of the rate you’d pay anyway, so the perks cost you nothing. Before and during the trip, one concierge on WhatsApp handles requests and changes.
