Rosewood Hotels: Every Property, Rates & How to Book
The fastest-rising name in ultra-luxury: 42 hotels, five openings in a single year, and a flag on half the world's great addresses.
By Biirdee Travel — Luxury Travel Concierge · Updated June 10, 2026
Rosewood began as a Dallas one-off (the Mansion on Turtle Creek, 1979) and is now luxury hotellerie's most aggressive collector of icons. Owned by Hong Kong's Chow Tai Fook/New World family, the brand runs on a "A Sense of Place" philosophy — no two Rosewoods look alike, and the trophy list is absurd: The Carlyle in New York, the Hôtel de Crillon on Place de la Concorde, London's former US Embassy (The Chancery, 2025), Amsterdam's Palace of Justice (2025), and the de facto flagship, Rosewood Hong Kong.
The past 18 months were the brand's biggest sprint ever — Amsterdam, The Chancery, Mandarina, its first ski resort at Courchevel and Doha all opened within a year — with Mexico City, Crete's Blue Palace, Milan, Rome and Miami Beach's Raleigh in the pipeline.

Rosewood Elite — the Program You Can't Join (But Can Use)
Rosewood runs no points program and has said plainly it doesn't want one. Rosewood Elite, its only structured benefits scheme, is invitation-only for top luxury travel agencies. An Elite booking is made at the standard flexible rate — identical to rosewoodhotels.com — and adds daily breakfast for two, a ~$100 property credit per stay, upgrade priority, and early/late check-in and out.
That makes the booking channel the entire game, exactly as with Aman. Biirdee books Rosewood with the Elite-grade benefit stack attached; on a five-night Mayakoba stay the breakfast and credit alone return $700+. Pipeline watchers: Mexico City, Crete (Blue Palace), Milan, Rome and The Raleigh Miami Beach are all slated for 2026–27 — we track opening dates and soft-opening rates for clients.
Rosewood FAQs
How many Rosewood hotels are there?
42 open as of June 2026, after the brand's fastest-ever expansion — five openings (Amsterdam, The Chancery London, Mandarina, Courchevel, Doha) landed within about a year.
Does Rosewood have a loyalty program?
No — no points, no member tiers. Rosewood Elite is an invitation-only travel-advisor program; its benefits (breakfast, ~$100 credit, upgrades) come through booking with an affiliated advisor or concierge at the same rate as direct.
What is Rosewood's best hotel?
Rosewood Hong Kong is the flagship and the consensus pick among city hotels; the Hôtel de Crillon is the trophy; Las Ventanas and Kona Village lead the resorts. The Carlyle is the icon money can't replicate.
Rosewood or Aman?
Aman sells silence and remoteness; Rosewood sells place and conviviality — its hotels want you in the bar at 7pm. Rates overlap at the resort tier, but Rosewood's city entries (Hong Kong, Bangkok) undercut Aman's by half or more. See our full Aman vs Rosewood comparison.
