Maybourne Hotels: All Six, Scored and Priced
London's three grandes dames, a Belgravia newcomer, a Riviera cliff and a Beverly Hills garden, on our own numbers.
By Biirdee Travel, Luxury Travel Concierge · Updated October 1, 2026

Maybourne is a group of six hotels, and on our numbers one of the best-reviewed in luxury travel. Three are London institutions: Claridge's, the Connaught and the Berkeley. The fourth London hotel is the Emory, all suites, in Belgravia; the other two are the Maybourne Beverly Hills and the Maybourne Riviera, on a rocky peninsula above Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. More than 2,500 people work for the group. Each hotel trades under its own name and Maybourne publishes no loyalty program, but a few names travel between the hotels: Surrenne, the group's wellness and longevity club (inside the Emory, open to the Berkeley's guests too, and on the Riviera), Jean-Georges' abc kitchens (the Emory and the Riviera), La Môme (the Berkeley and the Riviera) and Dante (Claridge's and Beverly Hills).
The ownership was reorganized in 2026. Under a framework that took effect on 9 July 2026 and was announced on 21 August, Regis Maybourne (UK) Ltd became the sole owner of Maybourne itself and keeps Claridge's, the Maybourne Riviera and the Maybourne Beverly Hills, while Constellation Hotels keeps the Connaught, the Emory and the Berkeley, along with the Saint-Germain hotel coming to Paris and a development in Marrakech. Existing management arrangements stay in place, so Maybourne goes on running all six for an agreed period. Marc Socker remains chief executive; Gianluca Muzzi, who had been Maybourne's co-CEO, returns to lead Constellation.
The Short Answers
- Best reviewed: the Connaught, at 9.79 out of 10 across its 100 most recent reviews with only 1% of guests under 7, the highest of the 14 London luxury hotels we scored.
- As a brand, Maybourne scored 9.40 across 400 recent reviews at four hotels, second of the ten brands we measured (behind Belmond's 9.53), and five of its six hotels are Forbes Five-Star in 2026.
- All six hold 2026 MICHELIN Keys (Three for Claridge's and the Connaught), and three are in The 50 Best Hotels 2026: Claridge's (No. 13), the Connaught (No. 49) and the Maybourne Riviera (No. 93).
- It is expensive, and scarce on our engine: the median lowest rate on our November test stay was $1,240 a night, and the Connaught and the Emory had no rooms on our engine on any date we checked across the next 12 months.
- Cheapest way in: the Berkeley in January or March, at $1,049 a night; the dearest London nights on our calendar are Claridge's in November and December, at $2,036–2,039.
- Our desk books Maybourne for short London stays (about 1.3 nights at Claridge's and the Connaught) and long Riviera summers (about six nights).

Maybourne by Our Numbers
Award lists only go so far, so we measured Maybourne ourselves. On 1 October 2026 we priced the same stays at every Maybourne hotel through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com) and scored the 100 most recent verified guest reviews at each hotel ourselves: the mean out of 10, the share of guests scoring 9 or more, and the share under 7. Our test stays were 10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra, and live rates change daily, so treat these as the rates on 1 October 2026.
Four hotels had enough recent reviews to score. The Emory (only 43 reviews since June 2024) and the Maybourne Riviera (29, the oldest from October 2022, marked †) did not, so they appear with that caveat and stay out of the brand averages.
Maybourne by Our Numbers
Guest scores are the mean of the 100 most recent verified reviews on our booking platform (out of 10), then the share scoring 9 or more and the share scoring under 7. † marks an older review window. Rates are our same-dates checks of every hotel on sale; Forbes is the 2026 Star Awards.

How the Ten Brands Compare on Our Numbers
Our own numbers, pulled 1 October 2026: the 100 most recent verified reviews at every hotel with enough of them on our booking platform, the Forbes Travel Guide 2026 ratings, and the lowest rate per night on the same three stays (10–13 Nov 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027, 15–18 Jul 2027) at every hotel each brand had on sale. Aman and Cheval Blanc sell too few rooms online to score.
| Brand | Recent guest score | Guests 9+ | Guests under 7 | Forbes Five-Star hotels | Median lowest rate (Nov / Mar / Jul) | Breakfast for two adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Belmond | 9.53 (15 hotels) | 89% | 4.7% | 7 of 18 | $941 / $877 / $1,238 | $114–142 |

| Four Seasons | 9.17 (72 hotels) | 82% | 8.2% | 42 of 115 | $838 / $806 / $789 | $68–247 |
| Rosewood | 9.14 (14 hotels) | 80% | 8.8% | 11 of 36 | $1,058 / $908 / $943 | $161–225 |
| Dorchester Collection | 9.14 (3 hotels) | 82% | 10.7% | 5 of 10 | $1,446 / $2,000 / $1,667 | $79–89 |
| Ritz-Carlton | 8.89 (62 hotels) | 76% | 12.3% | 21 of 106 | $615 / $663 / $676 | $74–88 |
| Aman | Too few reviews | Not scored | Not scored | 1 of 19 | Too few on sale to compare | $112–117 |
| Cheval Blanc | Too few reviews | Not scored | Not scored | 3 of 6 | Too few on sale to compare | $76–120 |
Read together, the two tables put Maybourne near the top of the market on reviews and on price. Its 9.40 is the second-best recent guest score of the ten brands, behind only Belmond (9.53), and only 5% of its guests scored a stay under 7, against 10.7% at Dorchester Collection, the rival it meets in London and Beverly Hills. Five Forbes Five-Star hotels out of six is the highest share of any brand in the league; the full cross-brand picture is in our comparison of the big luxury brands.
It is also the second-most expensive brand on our comparison stays, after Dorchester Collection: a median lowest rate of $1,240 a night in November, $1,144 in March and $1,438 in July. Read the March and July medians as two-hotel figures, since only Claridge's and the Berkeley were on sale through our engine on those dates. And budget for breakfast: for two, in the same room on the same terms, it adds a median $112–184 a night, where Dorchester Collection charges $79–89.
Best and Weakest on Guest Reviews
Of the four hotels with enough recent reviews, the Connaught leads at 9.79 (95% of guests scored 9 or more, 1% under 7), followed by the Maybourne Beverly Hills at 9.49 (6% under 7), Claridge's at 9.21 (8% under 7) and the Berkeley at 9.12 (5% under 7). Claridge's has the most disappointed guests of the four; the Berkeley has the fewest delighted ones, with 78% scoring 9 or more against 89% at Claridge's. On their small samples, the Maybourne Riviera (9.66 †) would rank second and the Emory (9.33) fourth.
What Maybourne Guests Write About
Our text analysis of the written English reviews among the 400 we scored at Claridge's, the Connaught, the Berkeley and the Maybourne Beverly Hills: how often each topic comes up, the mean score of the reviews that mention it, and the mean of those that don't.
| Topic | Share of written reviews | Mean score when mentioned | Mean score when not |
|---|---|---|---|
| Service | 59.1% | 9.36 | 9.64 |
| Food and restaurants | 23.2% | 9.32 | 9.52 |
| Breakfast | 12.2% | 8.80 | 9.57 |
| Spa | 6.7% | 9.91 | 9.44 |
Breakfast is the soft spot. It comes up in 12.2% of written reviews, and those reviews average 8.80, against 9.57 for the rest. At Claridge's and the Berkeley the cheapest rates were room only on most of our stays, and breakfast for two in the same room added $107–260 a night, so it pays to know what you are buying. Service is the subject of almost six reviews in ten, and the spa mentions (6.7%) are the happiest in the table, at 9.91. Couples write most of the reviews (57%) and score 9.32; solo travelers (17%) are happier at 9.56, and families (20%) a little lower, at 9.27.

When to Go
For London, January to April is the value window: Claridge's held at $1,238–1,239 a night in each of those months, and the Berkeley at $1,049–1,061. Claridge's is dearest in November and December ($2,036–2,039; December's rate is 65% above its January low), while the Berkeley peaks in June and July at $1,645. That flips the summer math: from July to September Claridge's, flat at $1,239, undercut the Berkeley on our calendar. Claridge's showed no rooms in May and June, so plan early-summer London well ahead or ask us to check.
Outside London our calendar is thin: the Maybourne Beverly Hills priced only in January ($1,438) and the Maybourne Riviera only in November ($796). No rooms on our engine can mean sold out, closed or simply not on sale through us, so for those two, send us your dates and we will price them directly.
What Our Desk Books
Maybourne hotels are among the most-booked on our desk over the past year, and each has its season. At Claridge's we booked an extended, multi-room early-summer stay; our clients go to the Connaught around New Year and in spring and early summer, to the Maybourne Beverly Hills in autumn and summer, and to the Maybourne Riviera in July and August. London stays are short (our Claridge's and Connaught bookings average about 1.3 nights each), while Riviera stays run about six nights on average.
Typical spend per night on the booking, taxes in: about $1,650 at the Connaught (median), about $1,900 at the Maybourne Beverly Hills (median), and about $800–1,100 for Claridge's entry rooms on the stay we booked. Our agents have priced Maybourne hotels 18 times since June 2026.
The Two Our Engine Never Shows
The Connaught and the Emory never showed a bookable room on our engine: not on any of our four test stays, and not in any month of our 12-month calendar. That is how they sell, through Maybourne's own reservations team and its partners rather than through engines like ours; travel advisors reach both through the GDS under Maybourne's chain code, MI. The Connaught is among the Maybourne hotels our desk books most, so the practical answer is simple: send us your dates and we will request them.
Next: The Maybourne Saint-Germain, Paris (2027)
Maybourne's next hotel will be its first in Paris and its second in France. Announced in February 2025 and due to open in 2027, the Maybourne Saint-Germain is a palace-style hotel with 101 keys (50 suites and 51 rooms) and 23 branded residences in the 17th-century Îlot Saint-Germain: seven residences by Pierre-Yves Rochon on Rue Saint-Dominique and 16 by Laura Gonzalez on Rue de l'Université. The plans include six places to eat and drink (among them a Japanese restaurant, a patisserie and a Salon de Thé), a Surrenne spa, a 30-meter rooftop pool and a 25-meter pool for residents.
Under the 2026 ownership split, the Saint-Germain belongs to Constellation, which also owns a development in Marrakech about which nothing more has been announced. Those are the only projects named officially; reports of further Maybourne openings have not been confirmed by the group.

Maybourne FAQs
Who owns Maybourne Hotels?
Under a framework that took effect on 9 July 2026, agreed between Regis Maybourne (UK) Ltd and Selene SARL, a subsidiary of Constellation Hotels Holding Limited, Regis Maybourne is the sole owner of Maybourne, the company that runs the hotels, and owns Claridge's, the Maybourne Riviera and the Maybourne Beverly Hills. Constellation Hotels owns the Connaught, the Emory and the Berkeley, plus the Saint-Germain hotel under development in Paris and a development in Marrakech. Maybourne keeps managing all of them for an agreed period, with Marc Socker as chief executive.
Which Maybourne hotel has the best guest reviews?
The Connaught: 9.79 out of 10 across its 100 most recent verified reviews, with 95% of guests scoring 9 or more and 1% under 7. That was the highest of the 14 London luxury hotels we scored, ahead of the Cadogan (9.48) and the Peninsula London (9.43). Within Maybourne, the Maybourne Beverly Hills (9.49), Claridge's (9.21) and the Berkeley (9.12) follow.
How much does a Maybourne hotel cost per night?
On 1 October 2026 the lowest rates on our four test stays ran from $797 a night (the Maybourne Riviera in November, breakfast included) to $1,839 (Claridge's between Christmas and New Year). In London, Claridge's ran $1,239–1,839 and the Berkeley $1,049–1,637; the Maybourne Beverly Hills was $1,079–1,276 on the two stays it had rooms. On some rates the hotel also collects taxes at checkout, about $198–309 a night on our London stays. Our desk's median at the Connaught, which never showed rooms on our engine, is about $1,650 a night, taxes in.
Can I book the Connaught or the Emory online?
Not through our engine: neither had a single bookable room on any of our test dates or in any month of the next year. Both sell through Maybourne's own reservations team and its partners, and travel advisors reach them through the GDS under chain code MI. Our desk books the Connaught regularly, so send us your dates for either.
Which Maybourne hotels include breakfast?
The Emory and the Maybourne Riviera include daily breakfast in every stay, along with Surrenne access (and at the Emory a 24-hour butler and a stocked minibar; on the Riviera an arrival transfer from the Nice area). At Claridge's and the Berkeley the cheapest rates were room only on most of our stays: breakfast for two in the same room on the same terms added $115–260 a night at Claridge's and $107–110 at the Berkeley.
What is Maybourne opening next?
The Maybourne Saint-Germain in Paris, due in 2027: 101 keys (50 suites and 51 rooms) and 23 residences in the 17th-century Îlot Saint-Germain, with a Surrenne spa and a 30-meter rooftop pool. It will be Maybourne's first hotel in Paris and its second in France.
