Rosewood Hong Kong has been named the best hotel in the world two years running: No. 1 on The World's 50 Best Hotels in 2025, and No. 1 again in 2026, when the list was renamed The 50 Best Hotels and also named it Best Hotel in Asia. It kept its Three MICHELIN Keys in 2026, the only Three-Key hotel among the six Hong Kong luxury hotels we score, and Rosewood itself took the list's 2026 Most Admired Hotel Group award.
Our own numbers are more measured. Its 100 most recent verified guest reviews average 9.41 out of 10, with 88% scoring 9 or more and 6% under 7: third of the 14 Rosewoods we could rank, but fifth of the six Hong Kong hotels we scored. It was also the priciest of the six on three of our four test stays, from $927 a night in March and $943 in July, and it is the only one of the six that Forbes Travel Guide rates Recommended rather than Five-Star in 2026 (its spa is Four-Star).
Our verdict: book it for the hotel the awards describe and for the service guests write about (it came up in 71% of written reviews, and those reviews averaged 9.64), and book it outside November. It suits couples and families who want the award-winner and accept the premium. If the priority is the highest recent guest score for the money, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong (9.86) and The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong (9.75) both scored higher and cost less on all four of our test stays.
Rosewood Hong Kong in Brief
- 9.41 out of 10 across its 100 most recent verified reviews (December 2025 to August 2026), 88% scoring 9 or more: third of the 14 Rosewoods we could rank and fifth of the six Hong Kong luxury hotels we scored.
- No. 1 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026 and in The World's 50 Best Hotels 2025, with Three MICHELIN Keys in 2026. Forbes Travel Guide 2026 rates the hotel Recommended and its spa Four-Star.
- Outside November the rate barely moves: every month from December 2026 to October 2027 priced between $897 and $974 a night on our two-night midweek checks. November 2026 ran $2,819.
- The cheapest rate was room only on all four test stays; breakfast for two added $174–205 a night on the same room.
- Families wrote 27% of recent reviews, and the 12% of written reviews that mention children averaged 9.88.
- Our desk has booked it twice. It is not the value choice in Hong Kong: it was the priciest of the five Hong Kong hotels on our calendar in nine of the eleven months from November to September.
Rosewood Hong Kong by Our Numbers
On 1 October 2026 we priced Rosewood Hong Kong through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com) on four test stays for two adults (10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027) and on a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in every month from November 2026 to October 2027, and we scored its 100 most recent verified guest reviews ourselves: the mean out of 10, the share scoring 9 or more and the share under 7. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking that day; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra, and live rates change daily. Every Rosewood is priced side by side on our Rosewood prices page and ranked on the best Rosewood hotels.

When to Go
Pick your dates for the weather and the city's calendar, not the rate. From December 2026 to October 2027 the cheapest two midweek nights never fell below $897 (April) or rose above $974 (May), a band of under $80. November is the one month to avoid on price: the midweek stay came to $2,819 a night, and our 10–13 November test stay found only four room types left, all suites, from $3,128. November was also the priciest month at three of the hotel's Hong Kong rivals on our calendar, but by far less: $830 at The Peninsula, $957 at Mandarin Oriental and $1,299 at Four Seasons.
Rosewood Hong Kong was also the only one of the five Hong Kong hotels in the table below with rooms on sale for October 2027 when we checked, at $932. If you are planning that far ahead, it is bookable now.

Our Read on the Comparison
On awards, Rosewood leads the city: it is the only Three-Key hotel of the six and the only one at No. 1 on The 50 Best Hotels, where The Peninsula Hong Kong placed No. 46, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong No. 59 and Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong No. 86 in 2026. On recent guest scores it trails four of the six. Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong (9.86, with 97% of recent guests scoring 9 or more) and The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong (9.75) are the two highest-scoring hotels we track in the city, and both were cheaper than Rosewood on every one of our four test stays. The gap at the top of the table is real, but Rosewood's 9.41 is still a very good score, and only 6% of its recent guests scored it under 7.
On price, Rosewood was the priciest of the five hotels on our calendar in nine of the eleven months from November to September; Four Seasons cost more in April ($933 against $897) and May ($1,008 against $974). Its cheapest month ($897) costs more than The Peninsula Hong Kong's priciest ($830). So the choice is about what you are paying for. Rosewood is the award-winner with the most MICHELIN recognition in the city; the Peninsula is the better value at a near-identical guest score (9.46); Mandarin Oriental is our pick on recent guest scores in Hong Kong.
Rooms, Dining and Spa
Rosewood Hong Kong opened on 17 March 2019 at Victoria Dockside in Tsim Sha Tsui, with interiors by Tony Chi conceived as a "vertical estate". It has 413 rooms, 91 of them suites, plus 186 Rosewood Residences for longer stays, and suite and club guests use the Manor Club, with personal butler service.
The engine offered 35 room types for our New Year stay and 21 in March and July. The entry category on those dates was a Kowloon Peak View Room ($927–1,260 a night); the cheapest suite was a Kowloon Peak suite ($1,645–1,758), and the Harbour Corner Suite sat at the top ($2,907–3,281). For 10–13 November only four room types were left, all suites, from the Grand Suite Corner (Harbour) at $3,128 to $3,433. The view came up in 27% of written reviews, averaging 9.28, so if the harbour is part of the point, ask us to price the suites against the entry room for your dates.
Two of the hotel's restaurants hold a MICHELIN star in the 2026 Hong Kong and Macau guide: CHAAT (Indian) and The Legacy House (Shun Tak Cantonese), which first earned its star in the 2024 guide. The others include HENRY, BluHouse (Italian), Marmo Bistro, Holt's Café, Bayfare Social, the DarkSide bar and The Butterfly Room. Food came up in 41% of written reviews, and those reviews averaged 9.63. The spa is Asaya Spa by Guerlain, part of Rosewood's Asaya wellness concept, spread over several floors with the Asaya Pool and Asaya Fitness; Forbes Travel Guide rates it Four-Star in 2026.
What Our Desk Books

Rosewood Hong Kong FAQs
How much does Rosewood Hong Kong cost a night?
On our 1 October 2026 checks the lowest rate was $1,260 a night for 27–30 Dec 2026, $927 for 12–15 Mar 2027 and $943 for 15–18 Jul 2027, each room only and refundable, plus about $26–36 a night in taxes collected at checkout. For 10–13 Nov 2026 only suites were left, from $3,128. The cheapest suite ran $1,645–1,758 on the other three stays, and the Harbour Corner Suite at the top $2,907–3,281.
When is Rosewood Hong Kong cheapest?
April 2027, at $897 a night for two midweek nights, but only just: every month from December 2026 to October 2027 came in between $897 and $974. November 2026 is the month to avoid on price, at $2,819 a night midweek.
Is breakfast included at Rosewood Hong Kong?
Not in the cheapest rate on our dates: it was room only on all four test stays. Breakfast for two added $205 a night on the same room over New Year, $182 in March and $174 in July. Over New Year the cheapest rate that included breakfast ($1,265) was barely above the cheapest room-only rate ($1,260), so ask us to check for that. Breakfast came up in only 9% of written reviews, but those reviews averaged 9.67.
Is Rosewood Hong Kong the best hotel in the world?
It is No. 1 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026, as it was in the 2025 list, and it holds Three MICHELIN Keys. On our scoring of recent verified reviews it is excellent rather than unbeatable: 9.41 out of 10, fifth of the six Hong Kong luxury hotels we score, behind Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong (9.86), The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong (9.75), The Landmark Mandarin Oriental (9.60, on older reviews) and The Peninsula Hong Kong (9.46). Treat the awards as the case for the hotel and our scores as the reality check.
Rosewood Hong Kong or The Peninsula Hong Kong?
The Peninsula if value matters: it scored slightly higher with recent guests (9.46 against 9.41) and was cheaper on all four of our test stays ($816 / $986 / $627 / $598 against $3,128 / $1,260 / $927 / $943). Rosewood if you want the 50 Best No. 1 and Three MICHELIN Keys (the Peninsula has Two). See our Peninsula Hong Kong guide and Rosewood vs the Peninsula.
