Every room, photo and amenity at Rosewood London

Rosewood London has the credentials: Forbes Five-Star in 2026, Two MICHELIN Keys, and a new entry at No. 56 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026. It is also one of the cheaper London luxury hotels on our dates. Our four test stays priced it at $774–1,097 a night, and it was never worse than the third-cheapest of the London hotels we priced.

Its most recent guests are less convinced. Their 100 verified reviews average 8.73 out of 10; 70% scored 9 or more and 14% scored under 7. That is 13th of the 14 Rosewoods we could rank and 15th of the 16 London luxury hotels we scored, ahead only of Mandarin Oriental Mayfair (8.52). For a Forbes Five-Star charging these rates, it is a weak score, and we would rather say so plainly.

Read it with its window in mind. All 100 reviews were written in July and August 2026, a short summer stretch in which families wrote half of them, and the hotel's long-run score on our booking platform is 9.2 over 2,331 reviews. Whether this is a summer dip or a trend, the next window will show. For now the recent numbers are the ones we publish.

Our verdict: Rosewood London is worth booking when the rate is right and the awards matter to you, and it stays on our list because the price is fair for London. But if recent guest scores are your guide, London has better-reviewed hotels at the same money: the Savoy (9.36) and Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square (9.28) both priced close to it or below it on our dates.

Rosewood London in Brief

  • 8.73 out of 10 across its 100 most recent verified reviews (July to August 2026); 70% scored 9 or more and 14% under 7: 13th of the 14 Rosewoods we could rank and 15th of the 16 London hotels we scored.
  • Its long-run score on our booking platform is 9.2 over 2,331 reviews, so the recent window, all from this summer, is a drop worth watching.
  • Breakfast came up in 28% of written reviews, and those reviews averaged 7.4; children came up in 17% and averaged 6.83.
  • One of the cheaper luxury hotels in London on our dates: $948 / $1,097 / $774 / $895 on our four test stays, never worse than third-cheapest of the London hotels we priced.
  • Cheapest months: January and February 2027 at $673 a night midweek; priciest May 2027 at $1,224.
  • Forbes Five-Star, Two MICHELIN Keys and No. 56 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026, a new entry.

Rosewood London by Our Numbers

On 1 October 2026 we priced Rosewood London through our own booking engine (the one behind hotels.biirdee.com) on four test stays for two adults (10–13 Nov 2026, 27–30 Dec 2026, 12–15 Mar 2027 and 15–18 Jul 2027) and on a two-night midweek stay (Tuesday to Thursday of the third week) in every month from November 2026 to October 2027, and we scored its 100 most recent verified guest reviews ourselves: the mean out of 10, the share scoring 9 or more and the share under 7. Rates are the lowest per night the engine charged at booking that day; taxes the hotel collects at checkout are extra, and live rates change daily. Every Rosewood is priced side by side on our Rosewood prices page and ranked on the best Rosewood hotels.

Where the Score Comes From

The written reviews show where the points went. Service came up in 64% of them, but those reviews averaged 8.13, below the hotel's overall 8.73; across all Rosewoods, reviews that mention service average 8.95. Breakfast came up in 28% and averaged 7.4. Families wrote half the reviews, and the 17% of written reviews that mention children averaged 6.83.

We can show where the score was lost, not why: the reviews tell us which topics drag, not what happened at the hotel this summer. If you are traveling with children in the school holidays, weigh those numbers. Otherwise, treat the long-run 9.2 as the more flattering guide and the recent 8.73 as the more current one.

Rooms, Dining and Spa

Rosewood London occupies the Edwardian headquarters the Pearl Assurance Company built at 252 High Holborn in 1914, a Grade II-listed building that has been a hotel since 2000 and reopened as Rosewood London after a major refurbishment in 2013. You enter through the carriage courtyard on High Holborn, and a Pavonazzo marble staircase rises seven storeys under the cupola. The hotel counts 308 keys, 264 rooms and 44 suites, and its Grand Manor House Wing is a seven-bedroom suite with its own entrance, lift and postcode.

On our dates the engine offered 26–31 room types. The entry room was a Deluxe King (an Executive Twin in November) at $774–1,097 a night, the cheapest suite a Junior Suite at $1,077–1,756, and the top category, Chancery House, $5,695–7,061.

The Holborn Dining Room, a British brasserie in the former banking hall, has The Pie Room alongside; Scarfes Bar, opened in 2014 and hung with Gerald Scarfe's caricatures, has an open fire and live jazz nightly; and the Mirror Room serves an Art Afternoon Tea. Andrea Coro became executive chef in September 2025. We found no MICHELIN-starred restaurant at the hotel. The spa is Sense, A Rosewood Spa. In our review scoring, food was the hotel's best-rated topic: it came up in 11% of written reviews, and those reviews averaged 9.75.

When to Go and Which Rate to Book

The cheapest midweek nights were in January and February 2027 ($673), with April ($749) and August ($779) next. May was the priciest month ($1,224), followed by June ($1,006): from the cheapest month to the dearest the rate rose 82%. Our engine had no rooms for the third-week midweek stay in November 2026 or October 2027, but our 10–13 November test stay found rooms from $948, so November is bookable if your dates can move.

On every test stay the cheapest rate was room only and non-refundable. Free cancellation added 11% in November but only 3–5% on the other three stays, which makes the refundable rate the easy choice. Breakfast for two added $110–211 a night on the same room; given what guests say about it, we would not pay for it by default. Taxes the hotel collects at checkout came to about $146–207 a night on the December, March and July stays, so add them when you budget.

Our Read on the Comparison

On price, Rosewood London undercuts most of the field. It was the third-cheapest of the London hotels we priced for 10–13 November and the second-cheapest on the other three stays (joint second with the Savoy in July), well below Claridge's ($1,239–1,839), The Dorchester ($1,372–1,957) and The Peninsula London ($1,251–1,772). On recent guest scores it sits second from the bottom.

The useful comparison is with the hotels at its price. The Savoy (9.36) was cheaper in November ($843) and the same in July ($895). Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square (9.28) was cheaper in November, at New Year and in July, and $6 dearer in March. The Cadogan (9.48) was the cheapest hotel on the board in March, at $714. All three score well above Rosewood London's 8.73 with recent guests. On MICHELIN Keys, Rosewood London holds Two in 2026, as do The Berkeley, The Dorchester, 45 Park Lane and the Cadogan; Claridge's, The Connaught, The Peninsula London and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hold Three.

Rosewood's second London hotel, The Chancery Rosewood, opened in 2025 in the former US Embassy on Grosvenor Square in Mayfair and is too new for us to score (one review on our platform). It sold only suites on our dates, from $2,250 a night in March, and entered the MICHELIN selection in 2026 at Two Keys as a new opening. Its name is not to be confused with Chancery House, the top category at Rosewood London.

Our desk has not booked Rosewood London in the period our notes cover (stays from November 2024 to April 2027); the London hotels in our desk notes for that period are Claridge's, The Connaught, The Peninsula London and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. The Rosewoods we have booked are elsewhere, from the Carlyle in New York to Rosewood Hong Kong.

Rosewood London FAQs

How much does Rosewood London cost a night?

On our 1 October 2026 checks the lowest rate was $948 a night for 10–13 Nov 2026, $1,097 for 27–30 Dec 2026, $774 for 12–15 Mar 2027 and $895 for 15–18 Jul 2027, room only and non-refundable. Taxes the hotel collects at checkout added about $146–207 a night on three of the four stays. The cheapest suite (a Junior Suite) ran $1,077–1,756, and the top category, Chancery House, $5,695–7,061.

When is Rosewood London cheapest?

January and February 2027, at $673 a night for two midweek nights, with April ($749) and August ($779) next. May 2027 was the priciest month at $1,224. Our engine had no rooms for the midweek stay in the third week of November 2026 or October 2027.

Is breakfast included at Rosewood London?

Not in the cheapest rate: it was room only on all four of our test stays. Breakfast for two added $110–211 a night on the same room. Breakfast came up in 28% of written reviews, and those reviews averaged 7.4, well below the hotel's overall 8.73.

Why does Rosewood London score lower than other London luxury hotels?

Our numbers show where, not why. Its 100 most recent reviews all date from July and August 2026, families wrote half of them, and the reviews that mention children averaged 6.83, breakfast 7.4 and service 8.13. Its long-run score on our booking platform is 9.2 over 2,331 reviews, so this summer's window is a drop rather than the hotel's whole record.

Rosewood London or Claridge's?

Claridge's scores higher with recent guests (9.21 against 8.73), holds Three MICHELIN Keys to Rosewood London's Two and ranked No. 13 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026, but it cost more on every test stay: $1,626 / $1,839 / $1,239 / $1,239 against $948 / $1,097 / $774 / $895. Rosewood London for the lower rate; Claridge's for the stronger reviews and awards. See our Claridge's guide.
