Empty Leg Flights Database (2026): 166 Operators, Marketplaces and Apps, From Their Own Websites

The Short Answer

On 1 October 2026 we found 166 companies whose own websites offer empty legs: 90 operators that fly their own aircraft and post their own repositioning flights, 69 brokers, marketplaces and membership apps that sell legs other companies fly, and 7 platforms open only to brokers. Every field in the tables below comes from the company’s own website (its empty-leg page, terms, FAQ or footer) and links to the page it came from. Nothing is taken from review sites, aggregators or news stories. Some of these companies list no legs on a given day; they are here because their sites offer them.

The finding that matters most to a buyer: only 82 of the 166 say anything on their own pages about a booked leg being changed or cancelled, and only 33 say what happens to your money when it is. An empty leg is the aircraft’s schedule, not yours. The trip that created it, the aircraft’s owner and the operator’s own full-price sales all outrank a discounted seat, so the sellers that explain this up front are the ones to read first; their words are collected in the last table.

We built this after a confirmed empty leg of ours was cancelled less than 24 hours before departure, which we describe in Is SkyAccess legit?. Biirdee arranges charters too, so we are not neutral; that is why this database holds only what each company says about itself.

How We Built It

Three searches built the list: operators in the Americas, operators everywhere else, and everyone who sells empty legs without flying the aircraft. Directories, aggregators and search results were used only to find companies. A company is listed when its own website offers empty legs, whether or not it showed any on the day we checked, and every field is read from that website: the empty-leg page, the terms of service, the FAQ, the about page or the legal footer. Where a company publishes on a host it controls outside its main website (a terms document on a file server, its own app-store listing), the data says so. A few sites block automated readers; for those we read the company’s own pages through a text-rendering service, and the data notes which.

Quotes are the company’s own words, shortened where an ellipsis marks the cut, with dashes set in our house style. "Not stated on its site" means we looked and did not find it, not that the company does not have it. Pages were read on 1 October 2026; companies change their terms, so read the linked page before you rely on a quote.

Operator or Marketplace: Which Is Safer?

Booking with the operator that flies the aircraft takes out the middle layer. The company deciding whether the leg flies is the one you contracted with, and it can tell you directly whether an owner or a full-price charter can still take the aircraft. It does not take out the risk: owners’ agreements and the operator’s own sales still come first, which is why the operators that publish anything on the point say their legs can change.

Marketplaces trade that directness for reach: one search across many operators, prices you can see, and sometimes instant booking. The cost is that the seller can only pass on what the operator decides, and its own terms may not cover what happens next.
