The Maybourne Saint-Germain: What Maybourne Has Said About Its 2027 Paris Hotel

The company behind Claridge's and the Connaught is coming to the Left Bank. Here is everything Maybourne and the hotel's owner have put on record, what they have not said yet, and where to stay in the meantime.

By Biirdee Team · October 15, 2026

Maybourne runs six hotels: Claridge's, the Connaught, the Berkeley and the Emory in London, the Maybourne Beverly Hills and the Maybourne Riviera. The seventh will be its first in Paris. Maybourne's own development page says The Maybourne Saint-Germain is "scheduled to open in 2027", with a palace-style hotel and 23 residences in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

You cannot book it yet, and Maybourne has published only a little about it. So this post sticks to that: what Maybourne has said, what the hotel's owner said when Maybourne's ownership changed this summer, and what neither has said yet. Every fact below comes from those two companies' own pages and releases, read on 15 October 2026. Where they are silent, so are we.

The short answer

  • What it is A 101-key palace-style hotel, 50 suites and 51 rooms around an inner courtyard, plus 23 serviced residences for sale. It will be Maybourne's first hotel in Paris and its second in France.
  • Where The Îlot Saint-Germain, a 17th-century block on the Left Bank between Boulevard Saint-Germain and Rue Saint-Dominique, with residences on Rue Saint-Dominique and Rue de l'Université.
  • When 2027. Maybourne has not given a month.
  • What stands out Three pools: a 30-metre rooftop pool, a 25-metre pool for residents only, and a third that comes with the Surrenne spa, which Maybourne says will be one of the largest in Paris. There will also be six places to eat and drink.
  • Can I book it? Not yet. It is not on Maybourne's booking pages, and Maybourne has published no rates. We take standing requests for the opening.

What Maybourne has announced

Maybourne announced the hotel on 6 February 2025, with "a 2027 opening for its newest development in the Parisian quarter of Saint-Germain-des-Prés". It describes the site, the Îlot Saint-Germain, as "a Parisian landmark since the 17th century", positioned between Boulevard Saint-Germain and Rue Saint-Dominique on the Rive Gauche. Maybourne calls its project "a fourth era for Îlot Saint-Germain", one that will integrate "with its heritage" while "creating a new layer of history". It describes the style as "a fusion of avant-garde Parisian chic with heritage and artistic flair".

Gianluca Muzzi, then Maybourne's co-CEO, set out the thinking: "Paris, with its elegance and timeless style, is an ideal match for Maybourne's vision of luxury hospitality." He called the opening "an exciting step in our strategy to grow selectively in key urban gateways around the world". Maybourne's development page still carries the first sentence of that quote today.

The hotel, in Maybourne's own numbers

  • Rooms 101 keys: 50 suites and 51 rooms, "surrounding a serene inner courtyard". Maybourne has not published sizes, categories or an interior designer for the hotel rooms.
  • Restaurants and bars Six food and beverage outlets, "including a Japanese restaurant, patisserie, Salon de Thé, and more", for guests and residents alike. Maybourne says it wants the hotel to be "the living room of Saint-Germain". No restaurant names or chefs have been announced.
  • Spa Surrenne, Maybourne's wellness and longevity brand, which Maybourne calls "a central part of the project" and "one of Paris' largest luxury spa and health clubs", offering health, fitness and beauty, along with access to a third pool. Today Surrenne's website lists two locations, Belgravia (at the Emory) and the Riviera; Paris is not on it yet.
  • Pools A 30-metre rooftop pool for the hotel, a 25-metre pool reserved for residents, and the third pool in the spa: "a third pool within the property", in Maybourne's words.

The 23 residences

The residences are split across two streets and two French designers. Pierre-Yves Rochon is designing seven along Rue Saint-Dominique, and Laura Gonzalez the other 16, on Rue de l'Université. All 23 will be serviced by the hotel. Residents get the 25-metre pool, the hotel's rooftop pool and membership of Surrenne. Maybourne bills them as "the first ever branded residences in Paris". That is Maybourne's claim, and we have not checked it.

Both buildings are listed for sale on Maybourne's Residences page, as "Saint Dominique" and "Rue de l'Université". Maybourne publishes no prices, floor plans or completion dates, and enquiries go through its residences team. The same page lists what every Maybourne resident receives across the group: 20% off Maybourne hotel room rates, 15% off its restaurants and bars, 15% off the spa menu, a dedicated private concierge, access to the Surrenne clubs and "preferential recognition" at every Maybourne hotel.

Who owns it, and who will run it

Maybourne's two shareholders divided the group between them this summer. Their joint release of 21 August 2026 says Regis Maybourne (UK) Ltd now owns Maybourne itself, the company that runs the hotels, along with Claridge's, the Maybourne Riviera and the Maybourne Beverly Hills. Constellation Hotels keeps the Connaught, the Emory and the Berkeley, "as well as the upcoming Saint Germain hotel in Paris and a development in Marrakech". The agreement took effect on 9 July 2026.

For a guest, the important line is that "existing hotel management arrangements will remain in place, with Maybourne managing the hotels for an agreed period". Gianluca Muzzi, who announced the Paris hotel as Maybourne's co-CEO, has moved from that role to lead Constellation, the hotel's owner. Marc Socker stays on as Maybourne's chief executive. The release does not say how long the "agreed period" runs. It names the project only as "the upcoming Saint Germain hotel in Paris", while Maybourne's own development page still calls it The Maybourne Saint-Germain. Our guide to all six Maybourne hotels covers how the split affects each of them.

What Maybourne has not said yet

These are the questions clients ask us most, and none of them has a first-party answer yet.

  • The opening date Only "2027". Maybourne has given no month and no season.
  • Prices No room rates, and no prices for the residences.
  • Reservations The Saint-Germain does not appear among the hotels on Maybourne's site or in its booking flow, and Maybourne has not said when reservations open.
  • The people Maybourne has named no general manager, no chefs and no interior designer for the hotel itself. The only designers it has named are the two working on the residences.
  • Room sizes and suites Only the split, 50 suites and 51 rooms. Maybourne has published no categories, sizes or signature suites.

If you see an opening month, a chef or a nightly rate elsewhere, treat it as unconfirmed until Maybourne publishes it. We will update this post when Maybourne does.

Where to stay until it opens

If you want the Left Bank now, or you want Maybourne now, here is where we would send you. All the rates below come from our own booking engine, and the guest scores are ones we calculated ourselves from recent verified reviews.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés today: the Lutetia

The palace hotel already in Saint-Germain-des-Prés is Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, at 45 Boulevard Raspail. It sells online, so our page for it shows live rates for every room on your dates. When we priced it on 1 October 2026, the lowest rate was $1,435 a night for 10–13 November, $1,776 over New Year, $1,959 in mid-March 2027 and $2,101 in mid-July. Taxes collected at checkout added roughly $172–235 a night. Its guests gave it an average of 9.24 out of 10, and 80% scored their stay 9 or higher; that score draws on an older window of reviews. Our Mandarin Oriental price guide has the full rate checks, and our Paris guide ranks it against the Right Bank palaces.

Maybourne in France today: the Maybourne Riviera

Maybourne's one hotel in France for now is the Maybourne Riviera, above Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Breakfast and Surrenne access are included in every stay. Our engine had rooms there in November, at $797 a night with breakfast on our test stay, and its guests scored it 9.66, on only 29 reviews from an older window. Most of our clients stay there for about six nights in July and August, so Paris and the Riviera combine easily into one trip. Our Maybourne Riviera guide has the details.

Maybourne service today: London

For Maybourne's service before the Paris opening, go to London. Claridge's sells online, and we priced it at $1,239–1,839 a night on our test stays. The Connaught does not sell online: it books through Maybourne's own reservations team and its partners, so we request it for you. Our Claridge's vs the Connaught comparison helps you choose between them, using only what the two hotels publish themselves.

How to be first in line

Maybourne has not opened reservations, and we do not know whether its first dates will go to partners, to its own guests or to everyone at once. What we can do is hold your request. Tell us roughly when you want to go and what kind of room or suite you need. When Maybourne opens the calendar, we request your dates and come back to you with a real rate, before you commit to anything.

Until then, we book the Lutetia, Claridge's and the Maybourne Riviera at their live rates, and we request the Connaught. Our Paris guide shows where each of the city's other luxury hotels fits.
