A beach for every day of the year — three and a bit hours from Miami, around nine from Heathrow.
Business class flights to Antigua land at V. C. Bird International (ANU), about 8 km north-east of St John’s: fifteen to twenty minutes to the capital and the cruise pier, about half an hour to Dickenson Bay or Jolly Harbour, and roughly forty down to English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard on the south coast. Antigua is a connecting hub as well as a destination — regional carriers fan out from here to Barbuda, Montserrat, St Kitts, Dominica and St Vincent — but that inter-island flying is economy-only on turboprops and small jets, so the premium cabin question is entirely about the long leg in.
From North America the flying is short and the front cabins are honest about it. American flies Miami in about 3h15m, the quickest run onto the island from any of our gateways, and New York JFK in about 4h15m. Delta flies Atlanta in about 4h15m and adds JFK across the winter season. Air Canada and WestJet both fly Toronto in about 4h45m. Nearly all of that is narrowbody flying with a domestic-style recliner up front rather than a lie-flat suite, which is the single most useful thing to know before you buy. From Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas and the interior hubs there is no nonstop at all — the trip is one-stop, normally through Miami, JFK or Atlanta.
From Europe, Antigua is a proper long-haul and the cabins change accordingly. Virgin Atlantic flies London Heathrow through to Antigua on a single flight number in about 9h in Upper Class, a flat bed the whole way — some services touch down in Barbados en route, so check the routing on your date. Condor flies Frankfurt nonstop in about 9h30m across the winter season, and its 1-2-1 long-haul business cabin is a good deal better than the leisure-carrier badge suggests. From the rest of Europe the trip is one-stop through London or Frankfurt. We quote published fares honestly on this page and then source under them.

London Heathrow through to V. C. Bird in about 9h in Upper Class, on one flight number and one aircraft — some dates include a short touchdown in Barbados on the way, which is worth knowing before you compare it with a true nonstop. It is the flat-bed option out of Heathrow, and the cabin varies by aircraft: the A350 and the A330neo carry the current Upper Class suite, with the Retreat Suite at the front, while the older 787 and A330-300 layouts are a step behind. Check the aircraft type on your date. Frequency is weighted to the northern winter, so summer dates come down to a thinner timetable.
Two ways in: Miami in about 3h15m — the shortest hop onto the island from any of our gateways — and New York JFK in about 4h15m. The front cabin is the domestic First recliner on a narrowbody rather than a flat bed, which is easy to justify for three hours and less so for the four-hour JFK run. Miami is also the natural single connection from Los Angeles, Dallas and Latin America, and a business class fare will normally, though not always, hold a premium seat on both legs — worth confirming per segment.
Atlanta to Antigua nonstop in about 4h15m, with New York JFK added across the winter season. Delta First on the narrowbodies is a wide recliner with a real meal service, not a lie-flat seat.
Toronto to Antigua nonstop in about 4h45m, the longest of the North American runs and the one where the seat matters most. Business Class on the narrowbody is a wide recliner with proper meal service, and on some dates the flight is operated by Air Canada Rouge, whose Business Class cabin is smaller — twelve seats — but the same recliner idea. From Vancouver, Calgary or Montreal, add a Toronto connection.
The second Toronto nonstop, also about 4h45m, and useful competitive pressure on Canadian fares across the winter. The premium cabin is an extra-space recliner with a better bag allowance rather than a business suite, so buy it for the room and the front-of-cabin service, not for a bed.
Frankfurt to Antigua nonstop in about 9h30m, the longest scheduled run onto the island from our gateways, flown across the winter season and absent from the board for much of the northern summer. The long-haul business cabin is 1-2-1 lie-flat with direct aisle access from every seat, which makes it the strongest continental-Europe option on the route; from elsewhere in Europe you are connecting through Frankfurt or London either way.

| Route | Typical published fare | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| From Miami and Florida | $900–$2,200 round trip | American nonstop in about 3h15m. Published fares as of September 2026; our sourced fares land under this. |
| From New York and the U.S. East and Southeast | $1,100–$2,600 round trip | American from JFK in about 4h15m, Delta from Atlanta in about 4h15m and from JFK in the winter season — recliners in a domestic first class cabin, not lie-flat suites. |
| From Toronto and Canada | $1,300–$2,900 round trip | Air Canada and WestJet nonstop in about 4h45m, heaviest across the northern winter; from Vancouver, Calgary or Montreal add a Toronto connection; WestJet’s Premium cabin prices below this band and is a recliner rather than a business seat. |
| From London and the UK | £2,200–£4,500 round trip | Virgin Atlantic Upper Class direct from Heathrow in about 9h; from Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Dublin, the connection into Heathrow rides on a partner carrier rather than Virgin metal, so price it as part of the ticket rather than assuming it is included. |
| From continental Europe | €2,400–€4,800 round trip | Condor from Frankfurt in about 9h30m in the winter season; outside it, and from anywhere else in Europe, the routing is one-stop through London or Frankfurt. |
| Peak (mid-December to mid-April) | Top of every range above | Dry season, Christmas and New Year, the February half-term and Easter. The winter-only services that make the January timetable look deep are gone by May, so the seat count shrinks exactly when the fares soften. |
Scheduled nonstops from the busiest gateways, from published airline schedules as of 3 September 2026. Flight times are gate-to-gate estimates. Carriers marked economy-only sell no business class cabin on the route.

Antigua runs on two seasons. The dry season, mid-December to mid-April, is the peak in every sense: high twenties Celsius, low humidity, steady trade winds and the whole of the UK and the eastern seaboard trying to get there at once. The wet season runs June to November, and the Atlantic hurricane season officially spans 1 June to 30 November with the real risk concentrated in August, September and October — which are also the quietest and cheapest weeks of the year, and the weeks when a share of the hotels close. May and early June are the window we push hardest: the weather still holds for most of it, the pricing has dropped to low season and the winter crowds have gone.
The events calendar moves fares as much as the weather does. Antigua Sailing Week fills English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour at the end of April and into early May, and the Charter Yacht Show does the same in early December — both tighten the London cabins first. Carnival runs from late July to the first Tuesday in August, marking emancipation, and brings heavy diaspora traffic out of New York, Toronto and London; Independence Day on 1 November and the Sunday sunset party at Shirley Heights are year-round fixtures that fill hotels rather than flights. Christmas and New Year are the hardest window of all: the resorts sell out first, the flights follow, and Upper Class on the Heathrow service is usually gone before economy is.
Book four to six months ahead for mid-December through February and for Easter, and eight to twelve weeks for everything else. Two things make Antigua tighter than the fare ranges suggest — the premium cabins are small, often only eight to twenty seats on the North American narrowbodies, and several of the best services are winter-weighted, so a route that looks well served in January is a single daily flight in July. Midweek departures price below weekends from every gateway we track. If your dates are fixed, tell us the routing and we will watch it and come back when a fare opens.

As of September 2026, published round trips run roughly $900–$2,200 from Miami, $1,100–$2,600 from New York and the U.S. East Coast, $1,300–$2,900 from Toronto, £2,200–£4,500 from London and €2,400–€4,800 from Frankfurt. Biirdee’s negotiated and unpublished business class fares to Antigua typically price below those ranges.
From London Heathrow, Virgin Atlantic flies through to Antigua on a single flight number, though some services make a short touchdown in Barbados en route; other London airports are also served, and we price whichever London departure works for your dates. From continental Europe, Condor from Frankfurt in the winter season. From the United States, the nonstops we book most are American from Miami and New York JFK, and Delta from Atlanta and from JFK across the winter. JetBlue also flies JFK nonstop, but in economy only and only to the end of October 2026. From Canada, Air Canada and WestJet from Toronto. The European cabins are lie-flat; the North American ones are almost always recliners in a domestic first class cabin. The regional carriers that link Antigua to Barbuda, St Kitts, Dominica and the rest of the eastern Caribbean fly economy only.
Yes. Virgin Atlantic flies London Heathrow to V. C. Bird (ANU) on a single flight number in about 9h in Upper Class, a lie-flat seat the whole way, with the heaviest schedule across the northern winter; some services make a short touchdown in Barbados en route rather than flying straight through, so confirm the routing for your dates. Published round trips run about £2,200–£4,500 as of September 2026 and we source below that. From Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Dublin the usual routing is a connection into Heathrow, or a one-stop through Frankfurt when Condor is flying.
From New York, yes — American flies JFK to Antigua in about 4h15m and Delta adds the same pair across the winter season, both with a recliner front cabin rather than a lie-flat seat; other New York-area departures come and go seasonally, so tell us your dates and we will price the lot. From Los Angeles there is no nonstop. The cleanest routings are one-stop through Miami on American or Atlanta on Delta, and a business class fare will normally, though not always, hold a premium seat on both legs — worth confirming per segment; the Miami connection is the shortest final hop onto the island at about 3h15m.
Nonstop it is about 3h15m from Miami, 4h15m from New York JFK, 4h15m from Atlanta and 4h45m from Toronto. From Europe it is about 9h from London Heathrow and 9h30m from Frankfurt. V. C. Bird International sits about 8 km north-east of St John’s, so add fifteen to twenty minutes for the capital and the cruise pier, about half an hour for Dickenson Bay or Jolly Harbour, and roughly forty for English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard on the south coast.
Avoid mid-December to mid-April, Sailing Week at the end of April and the Carnival fortnight in late July, and look instead at May, early June and the September-to-November stretch when the island is at its quietest. Midweek departures price below weekends from every gateway, and from the US interior or the West Coast a one-stop through Miami is usually cheaper than anything built on the JFK nonstop. Beyond routing, the real saving is the fare type: we book negotiated and unpublished business class fares that never appear on the public sites, routinely well under retail.
For the seat it is a European contest — Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class out of Heathrow, best when the A350 or the A330neo is assigned, and Condor’s 1-2-1 lie-flat cabin out of Frankfurt in the winter season. From North America nobody offers a flat bed as standard, so the question becomes which recliner and how long you sit in it: American’s 3h15m from Miami is the least time in a seat, Air Canada’s and WestJet’s 4h45m from Toronto the most. If a flat bed is the priority, the European services are the only reliable way to get one on this route.
