Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) is the Czech capital’s only commercial airport, about 17 km north-west of the Old Town and 30 to 45 minutes by car depending on traffic. Prague has no long-haul home carrier — Czech Airlines is gone, and Smartwings, the Czech leisure airline that took over its routes, still flies Paris, Madrid and, seasonally, Dubai, though its premium cabin is a narrow-body business seat rather than a lie-flat one — so business class into PRG means one of three things: a seasonal transatlantic nonstop, a wide-body from the Gulf or East Asia, or a short hop from a neighbouring European hub after a lie-flat long-haul leg.

Prague is a leisure city, so demand peaks with holidays rather than the working week: June through August, the Advent and Christmas-market season from late November through New Year’s, and Easter week. The seasonal transatlantic nonstops run on the summer schedule only — roughly May to early October — and carry the tightest business cabins into Prague, so book those three to four months ahead for peak dates.
