One transatlantic nonstop exists, and it is seasonal: United flies Newark to Dubrovnik in about 9h20m over the summer, the only transatlantic cabin that reaches DBV without a connection. From every other North American city the trip is one stop, most cleanly via London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich or Istanbul, where a long-haul business cabin does the heavy lifting and a short narrowbody leg finishes the job. From the Gulf, flydubai operates Dubai to Dubrovnik in about 5h15m in season, which is also the tidiest single connection from South Asia and East Africa; Turkish Airlines does the same work for most of Asia with that 1h35m hop off its Istanbul bank.

Dubrovnik is a season, not a year-round destination. The schedule inflates from roughly April, peaks in July and August alongside the Dubrovnik Summer Festival and the European school holidays, and unwinds through October. That peak is the expensive window in every sense: the nonstops run full, the cruise calls stack up in the Old Town, and business fares sit at the top of the ranges above.
Our preferred months are late May, June and September. The sea is warm from June onward and stays swimmable well into October, the nonstop map is still intact on both shoulders, and fares soften markedly the moment the school holidays end. From November to March the flying is the constraint rather than the weather — the seasonal routes stop, and you connect through Frankfurt, Munich or Rome on Croatia Airlines or Lufthansa, which is perfectly civilised but adds a couple of hours each way.
Book three to five months ahead for July and August, six to ten weeks for the shoulders. The binding constraint is cabin size: most of these routes are narrowbodies whose business cabin is a movable curtain, often set to no more than two or three rows, and the United Newark nonstop flies at most once a day, so discounted inventory disappears long before the published fare moves.
