One of the shortest lie-flat crossings of the Atlantic, and a European city waiting at the end of it.
Business class flights to Montreal land at Montréal–Trudeau (YUL), about 20 km west of downtown — twenty to thirty minutes by taxi outside rush hour, or the round-the-clock 747 express bus down Boulevard René-Lévesque to the downtown coach terminal at Berri-UQAM, with stops beside Central Station on the way. From Europe this is one of the shortest widebody crossings to Canada and one of the shortest transatlantic runs anywhere: London Heathrow in about 6h50m on Air Canada or British Airways, Paris in about 7h15m on Air Canada or Air France, Madrid in about 7h15m on Air Canada or Air Transat, and Amsterdam in about 7h15m on KLM, with Air Canada adding Amsterdam seasonally. Frankfurt is about 7h40m on Air Canada, with Lufthansa seasonally, Munich about 8h on Lufthansa, Zurich about 7h50m on Swiss, Barcelona about 7h45m and Rome about 8h30m on Air Canada, and Istanbul about 9h50m on Turkish Airlines.
North America is where the geography gets awkward and the cabins get smaller. Air Canada flies Los Angeles in about 5h20m and San Francisco in about 5h30m, where United adds a seasonal service; Denver is about 3h40m on Air Canada; Dallas/Fort Worth is about 3h30m on American, with Air Canada adding a seasonal service on the same pair; Miami is about 3h15m on Air Canada or American, Atlanta about 2h25m on Air Canada or Delta, Chicago O’Hare about 2h on Air Canada, American or United, and Toronto about 1h10m on Air Canada, Air Transat or WestJet. Almost all of that is narrowbody flying, which means a recliner-style front cabin rather than a lie-flat bed — the fare code says business, the seat does not. Porter also runs the Toronto shuttle, but in economy only.
Further out, the long-haul nonstops are the ones people forget Montreal has: Emirates from Dubai in about 13h30m, Qatar Airways from Doha in about 13h10m, Air Canada from Tokyo Narita in about 13h10m and seasonally from Seoul in about 13h25m. Air Transat sells its Club Class recliner from Paris, Madrid, Barcelona and Toronto, seasonally from Rome, and adds Istanbul from 29 October 2026 — a comfortable premium seat, but not a lie-flat business product. From cities without a Montreal nonstop the trip is one-stop via Toronto, London, Paris, Frankfurt or a Gulf hub. We quote published fares honestly on this page, then source under them.
38 origin airports with nonstop service to Montreal
Montreal is served by YUL
Biirdee's negotiated fares typically land 30–70% below published business class prices
The home carrier, and by a distance the widest reach out of YUL — Air Transat is the only other airline with a real Montreal network, and it is a leisure one: London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, Barcelona and Rome, Amsterdam seasonally, Tokyo Narita in about 13h10m and a seasonal Seoul flight, plus Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, a seasonal Dallas run and the Toronto shuttle. Signature Class on the 787s and A330s is a proper 1-2-1 lie-flat pod; the transborder and domestic flights sell the same business label on an A220 or 737 recliner, so check the aircraft before you judge the fare.
Paris Charles de Gaulle to Montreal in about 7h15m, lie-flat 1-2-1 on the widebodies assigned to the route, and the natural one-stop from anywhere Air France flies in Africa, the Mediterranean or the Middle East. It competes head-on with Air Canada on the same pair, which is why Paris is often one of the softer transatlantic origins we quote.
Heathrow to Montreal in about 6h50m — the shortest business class Atlantic crossing on this page, and short enough that the eastbound overnight leaves you barely five hours of usable sleep, which is worth weighing when you decide what the flat bed is worth. Club Suite with a closing door on the refitted aircraft, but the long-haul fleet is mixed; confirm the seat map for your date rather than the airline name.
Munich to Montreal in about 8h year-round and Frankfurt in about 7h40m in the summer season, alongside Air Canada on the Frankfurt pair. The business cabin varies by aircraft while the new long-haul seat rolls out, so two flights sold at the same fare can be very different rooms — worth ten minutes on the seat map.
Amsterdam to Montreal in about 7h15m, with Air Canada joining the route seasonally. Schiphol is the most efficient connecting airport in this list for onward European and African traffic. KLM and Air France sit in the same group and sell the Atlantic jointly, so price both and take whichever files the better fare rather than expecting one to undercut the other; World Business Class is a 1-2-1 flat bed on the widebodies assigned here.
Istanbul to Montreal in about 9h50m, and the practical single connection from Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Indian subcontinent and much of Africa. The catering is the reason regular flyers choose it over shorter routings. Budget properly for the transfer — Istanbul Airport is vast and a 90-minute connection is not the comfortable one.
Doha to Montreal in about 13h10m, with Qsuite on the aircraft that carry it and a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone seat on the rest, and usually the strongest one-stop from South Asia, South East Asia and East Africa. Doha connections are often sold in the 60-to-90-minute band; buy the longer one and spend the difference in the lounge.
Dubai to Montreal in about 13h30m, the volume one-stop from the Gulf, the Indian subcontinent and East Africa. Expect a 777 rather than the A380 on this pair, and the business cabin varies by airframe as the fleet is refitted — some aircraft still carry the older layout where not every seat reaches an aisle directly. Pull the seat map for your date before you choose, or take the Doha connection instead.

| Route | Typical published fare | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| From London and the UK | £1,900–£4,200 round trip | Nonstop on British Airways or Air Canada in about 6h50m. Published fares as of September 2026; our sourced fares land under this. |
| From continental Europe | €2,000–€4,800 round trip | Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Madrid, Barcelona and Rome all have a nonstop, and the same trip can price very differently by gateway, so it pays to compare two or three. |
| From the U.S. West Coast | $1,400–$3,200 round trip | Air Canada from Los Angeles and San Francisco, about five and a half hours, plus a seasonal United service from SFO. Recliner-style business, not lie-flat. |
| From U.S. Midwest, South and Florida | $900–$2,400 round trip | Chicago about 2h, Atlanta about 2h25m, Miami about 3h15m, Dallas about 3h30m — short narrowbody flights sold as domestic-style first or business class. If your city is not on this list, tell us — several US origins have their own Montreal nonstop. |
| From the Gulf and Asia | $4,000–$8,500 round trip | Emirates from Dubai, Qatar Airways from Doha and Air Canada from Tokyo Narita, all about thirteen hours in a lie-flat seat. |
| Peak (Grand Prix weekend and the summer festivals) | Top of every range above | The Grand Prix weekend and the festival run from late June into August sell the transatlantic cabins out months ahead; Christmas and New Year price close behind. |
Scheduled nonstops from the busiest gateways, from published airline schedules as of 3 September 2026. Flight times are gate-to-gate estimates. Carriers marked economy-only sell no business class cabin on the route.

Montreal front-loads its year into a short, ferocious summer. The Canadian Grand Prix weekend on Île Notre-Dame — late May in the current calendar, so confirm the date for your year — is the single hardest date to buy, with hotels and premium cabins both reaching their ceiling. The festival run follows: Fête nationale on 24 June, Canada Day on 1 July, the jazz festival that closes the downtown streets from late June, the comedy festivals in July and Osheaga in early August. From the middle of June to the middle of August the weather is genuinely hot, the terrasses are full, and every transatlantic nonstop is running its summer schedule at maximum frequency.
The rest of the calendar is quieter and much better value. September and October are our pick: warm days, cold nights, foliage in the Laurentians an hour north, and fares that soften as soon as the summer schedule tapers — though note that several routes are seasonal, so Lufthansa’s Frankfurt flight, Air Canada’s Amsterdam, Seoul and Dallas services, Air Transat’s Rome flight and United’s San Francisco run all thin out after the peak, while Air Transat adds Istanbul from 29 October 2026. Winter is genuinely cold — daily means around minus eight to minus ten through January and February, with much colder snaps — and priced accordingly; it is also when Igloofest, Montréal en Lumière and Nuit Blanche happen and when ski traffic heads for the Laurentians and the Eastern Townships. March and April are the soft months — the snow goes grey, the city empties for the relâche school break, and business fares bottom out.
Book four to six months ahead for the Grand Prix and the July festival weeks, and six to ten weeks for everything else. The constraint here is cabin size rather than demand: most of these routes run a single daily departure at peak and thin out to less than daily off-season, on aircraft with a small front cabin, so discounted inventory closes long before the published fare moves. Montreal is also a convention and corporate town — aerospace, AI research and gaming all pull Monday-to-Thursday traffic into the Palais des congrès — which keeps midweek fares firmer than weekend ones on the US and Toronto feeds. If your dates are fixed, send us the routing and we will come back with a quote inside the hour — on WhatsApp if that is easier.

As of September 2026, published round trips run roughly £1,900–£4,200 from London, €2,000–€4,800 from continental Europe, $1,400–$3,200 from the U.S. West Coast, $900–$2,400 from Midwest and southern hubs such as Chicago, Atlanta or Miami, and $4,000–$8,500 from Dubai, Doha or Tokyo. Biirdee’s negotiated and unpublished business class fares to Montreal typically price below those ranges.
From Europe: Air Canada and British Airways from London Heathrow; Air Canada and Air France from Paris; KLM from Amsterdam, with Air Canada seasonal; Air Canada and, seasonally, Lufthansa from Frankfurt; Lufthansa from Munich; Swiss from Zurich; Air Canada from Madrid, Barcelona and Rome; Turkish Airlines from Istanbul. From the Gulf and Asia: Emirates from Dubai, Qatar Airways from Doha, and Air Canada from Tokyo Narita plus a seasonal Seoul flight. Within North America: Air Canada from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami and Toronto, American from Chicago, Miami and Dallas, Delta from Atlanta, United from Chicago and seasonally from San Francisco, and WestJet from Toronto in its Premium cabin — American, Delta and United sell these transborder flights as domestic first or business class, and WestJet as Premium, so expect recliner cabins rather than lie-flat beds. Air Transat flies Paris, Madrid, Barcelona and Toronto, and seasonally Rome, with a Club Class recliner rather than a business cabin, and Porter serves Toronto in economy only.
Yes — British Airways and Air Canada both fly London Heathrow to Montréal–Trudeau nonstop in about 6h50m, which makes it one of the shortest lie-flat crossings of the Atlantic. British Airways sells Club Suite on its refitted aircraft and Air Canada sells Signature Class on the 787 and A330; published round trips run about £1,900–£4,200 and we source under that.
Yes, but know what you are buying. Air Canada flies Los Angeles in about 5h20m and San Francisco in about 5h30m, where United adds a seasonal service, and Chicago O’Hare is about 2h on Air Canada, American or United. These are narrowbody flights with a recliner front cabin rather than a lie-flat bed. Denver is about 3h40m, Dallas about 3h30m, Miami about 3h15m and Atlanta about 2h25m; from other US cities, tell us the origin — several have their own Montreal nonstop, and where there is not one we route you over Toronto or Chicago.
From Europe: about 6h50m from London, 7h15m from Paris, Amsterdam and Madrid, 7h40m from Frankfurt, 7h45m from Barcelona, 7h50m from Zurich, 8h from Munich, 8h30m from Rome and 9h50m from Istanbul. From the Gulf and Asia: about 13h10m from Doha and Tokyo Narita, 13h25m from Seoul and 13h30m from Dubai. Within North America: about 1h10m from Toronto, 2h from Chicago, 2h25m from Atlanta, 3h15m from Miami, 3h30m from Dallas, 3h40m from Denver, 5h20m from Los Angeles and 5h30m from San Francisco.
Fly in March, April or November rather than the June-to-August festival run, avoid the Grand Prix weekend entirely, and depart midweek. From Europe, price Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt against London on the same dates — the four gateways file very different fares for the same trip, and Paris in particular is a genuinely competitive pair. From Asia and the Gulf, compare the Doha and Dubai nonstops against a one-stop over Europe. Beyond routing, the real saving is the fare type: we book negotiated and unpublished business class fares that never appear on the public sites.
For the seat, Qatar Airways from Doha when the aircraft for your date carries Qsuite, and Air Canada Signature Class on the 787 from London, Paris or Tokyo. For the shortest night in the air, British Airways or Air Canada from Heathrow at about 6h50m. On the short North American routes nobody offers a lie-flat bed, so buy on schedule and lounge access rather than cabin — and treat Air Transat’s Club Class as what it is, a wide recliner with better service, not a business class seat.
