The Gulf’s smallest kingdom, reached nonstop from London, New York and six more cities across Europe.
Business class flights to Bahrain land at Bahrain International (BAH) on Muharraq island, a fifteen-minute drive from Manama’s financial district in normal traffic, in a terminal that opened in 2021. Gulf Air, the national carrier, does most of the flying: nonstop from London Heathrow in just under 7 hours, from Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan and Rome in five to six and a half hours, and from New York JFK in about 13.5 hours. The long-haul rotations are normally 787-9s with lie-flat Falcon Gold seats, and European routes can also come up on an A321neo, where the Falcon Gold cabin is smaller and only the long-range variant is a flat bed — worth checking the aircraft on your date. British Airways is the only other long-haul airline into Bahrain from our gateways, with its own Heathrow nonstop.
From the Gulf, Bahrain is about an hour from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Riyadh, and Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways and Saudia all fly it alongside Gulf Air. That is why a one-stop over any of those hubs is the standard routing from the U.S. West Coast, from Asian cities beyond Gulf Air’s own Bangkok, Singapore and Shanghai nonstops, and from anywhere else Gulf Air does not reach. Turkish Airlines connects Istanbul nonstop in about 3h40m; EgyptAir flies from Cairo in about 3.
Manama is a banking and Formula 1 city rather than a beach resort, so premium demand tracks the working week, the spring Grand Prix and the cool-season conference calendar more than school holidays. Retail business fares are moderate for the distance — Gulf Air tends to price under its bigger Gulf neighbours on the same city pairs — and Biirdee sources negotiated and unpublished fares that typically land below the ranges listed here.

Home carrier and the only nonstop from New York (about 13.5h), plus nonstops from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, Rome, Istanbul, Cairo, Bangkok, Singapore and Shanghai, with Geneva in season. Lie-flat Falcon Gold on the 787-9; the short Gulf hops are usually a narrowbody recliner cabin.
Nonstop from Heathrow in just under 7 hours: Club Suite on the refitted aircraft and the older Club World bed on the rest, so check the aircraft on your date. Usually priced above Gulf Air on the same route.
About 40 minutes from Doha on a narrowbody regional cabin, tacked onto a long-haul leg that carries Qsuite on most widebodies — the strongest one-stop from the U.S. West Coast and much of Asia.
About an hour from Dubai — Emirates flies nothing smaller than a widebody, but the type varies by rotation, so check the seat map. The connection of choice from cities Gulf Air does not serve nonstop.
An hour from Abu Dhabi, usually on a narrowbody with a regional business cabin; Etihad’s lie-flat long-haul seat is on the leg into Abu Dhabi, not on the hop.
Nonstop from Istanbul in about 3h40m, usually a narrowbody with a regional business cabin; a useful one-stop from smaller European cities.
About an hour from Riyadh with a regional recliner cabin — handy for Saudi and Bahrain combinations.
Nonstop from Cairo in about 3 hours on a narrowbody; a workable one-stop from Africa and southern Europe.

Bahrain’s season runs November to April, when daytime highs fall from the high 20s at the shoulders to the low 20s at midwinter and the banking and conference calendar is full. The Bahrain Grand Prix, usually in March or April, is the single hardest week to find a business seat — fares firm the moment the Formula 1 calendar is confirmed, so book five to six months ahead for it. Ramadan, roughly early February to early March in 2027, is quiet inbound and cheap, but Eid al-Fitr at its end is the opposite, with heavy regional traffic on the Gulf hops and over the causeway from Saudi Arabia; Christmas and New Year fill the London and European nonstops with expat family traffic.
Summer, June through September, is the soft season: highs pushing 40°C keep leisure demand away and Gulf Air discounts its Europe and Asia nonstops accordingly, though the cabins are small, so even off-peak we book six to eight weeks out. Bahrain works Sunday to Thursday, so mid-week departures on the London and Gulf flights carry the business premium; a Friday or Saturday departure usually prices lower.

As of September 2026, retail round trips run roughly £2,000–£4,500 from London, €1,800–€4,000 from continental Europe, $4,500–$8,500 from the U.S. East Coast and $5,500–$10,000 from the West Coast; the hour-long Gulf hops start around $500, rising to about $3,500 from Bangkok, Singapore or Shanghai. Biirdee’s negotiated fares typically price below these.
Gulf Air from London, New York, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, Rome, Istanbul, Cairo, Bangkok, Singapore, Shanghai and the Gulf hubs of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Riyadh, with Geneva in season; British Airways from Heathrow; Turkish Airlines from Istanbul; EgyptAir from Cairo; and Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways and Saudia from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Riyadh. Flydubai also sells a small business cabin on the Dubai hop, and Air Arabia serves the Abu Dhabi route in economy only.
Yes — two of them. Gulf Air and British Airways both fly Heathrow–Bahrain nonstop, just under 7 hours outbound. Gulf Air’s 787-9 has lie-flat Falcon Gold seats and is usually the cheaper of the two; BA offers Club Suite on its refitted aircraft and the older Club World bed on the rest.
Yes — Gulf Air flies JFK–Bahrain nonstop, about 13.5 hours eastbound, on the 787-9 with lie-flat seats. From other U.S. cities, including Los Angeles and San Francisco, the trip is one-stop via New York, Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi or London, around 20 hours in total.
Just under 7 hours from London, five to six and a half hours from Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan or Rome, about 3h40m from Istanbul, 3 from Cairo, 13.5 from New York, 7 from Bangkok, 8 from Singapore and 9 from Shanghai. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Riyadh are all roughly an hour.
Gulf Air is usually the price leader on its own nonstops, and a one-stop on Qatar Airways, Emirates or Turkish Airlines often undercuts the nonstop out of Europe. Travel in summer or during Ramadan, avoid Grand Prix week, and ask Biirdee for an unpublished fare — that is where the largest savings sit.
