Business Class Flights to Athens

Fares, airlines & the best time to book, ATH

Ten hours from New York to the Acropolis: a seasonal nonstop map that rewards booking early.

Business class flights to Athens land at Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH), about 20 km east of the centre and 40 minutes by metro or suburban rail. The North American nonstop map is seasonal: Delta flies from New York-JFK, Atlanta and Boston, American from JFK, Chicago and Dallas-Fort Worth, United from Chicago and Washington Dulles, and Air Canada from Toronto, about 10 hours from New York, about 11h10 from Chicago and about 12h45 from Dallas, with lie-flat business class on the widebodies that normally operate these routes. Most of these flights run from spring to late October; in winter the trip is one-stop via London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich or Rome. Norse Atlantic’s summer JFK flight sells premium economy rather than a business cabin.

From Europe the choice is wide but the seat is different. Aegean and British Airways fly nonstop from Heathrow in about 3.5 hours, Air France from Paris, Lufthansa from Frankfurt and Munich, KLM from Amsterdam, Swiss from Zurich and Geneva, Iberia from Madrid, ITA from Rome, Austrian from Vienna and SAS from Copenhagen: every one of them with European-style business class, a blocked middle seat rather than a bed. Low-cost carriers such as Ryanair, Vueling, Transavia and easyJet serve the same routes in economy only. From the Gulf and Asia, Emirates flies nonstop from Dubai in about 4.5 hours, Qatar Airways from Doha in about 4, Etihad from Abu Dhabi, Turkish Airlines from Istanbul in just over an hour and Juneyao Air nonstop from Shanghai in about 11 hours. For most travellers from Asia and Australia, though, Athens is a one-stop trip over Dubai, Doha or Istanbul.

Athens is also the gateway to the islands: Aegean and Sky Express fan out to Santorini, Mykonos, Crete and Rhodes in under an hour, so the long-haul leg is the part worth paying for. Premium demand tracks the tourist season: May through September cabins fill months ahead, while November to March is a genuine bargain. Biirdee sources unpublished business and first class fares below the retail ranges quoted on this page.

Airlines Flying Business Class to Athens

Aegean Airlines

Greece’s home carrier: nonstop from Heathrow, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Zurich, Geneva, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Vienna, Copenhagen, Istanbul and Cairo. Business class on these European routes is a blocked middle seat on the A320-family jets that fly them, not a bed; you pay for the lounge, the flexibility and the island connections.

Delta

Seasonal nonstops from JFK (about 10 hours), Atlanta (about 11h40) and Boston (just under 10) with lie-flat Delta One; most rotations run spring to late October, so winter Delta itineraries route via Paris or Amsterdam with Air France-KLM.

American Airlines

Seasonal Flagship Business from JFK, Chicago O’Hare and Dallas-Fort Worth, lie-flat on the 787s that typically operate the route; Dallas is the longest at about 12h45, and the schedule pauses for the winter.

United

Seasonal Polaris nonstops from Chicago O’Hare (about 11h10) and Washington Dulles (about 10h35). From other United cities the trip is one-stop via those gateways or a Star Alliance partner in Frankfurt, Munich or Zurich.

British Airways

Nonstop from Heathrow in about 3.5 hours, with multiple departures on most days and service through the winter. Club Europe is on most flights the economy seat with the middle blocked, so book it for the lounge and the schedule, not the bed.

Air Canada

Seasonal Toronto nonstop of about 10.5 hours, typically with lie-flat Signature Class on the 787. Air Transat also flies Toronto–Athens in summer, but its Club Class is a wider recliner rather than a bed.

Emirates

Nonstop from Dubai in about 4.5 hours, normally on a 777 whose business cabin is lie-flat but laid out 2-3-2, so not every seat reaches the aisle: the natural one-stop from Asia, Australia and the Gulf. From the U.S. or UK it is a long way round unless the fare is exceptional.

Qatar Airways

Nonstop from Doha in about 4 hours, with Qsuite on some rotations; the strongest one-stop option from Asia and Australia, and often a sharp fare from the Gulf itself.

Best Time to Book Business Class to Athens

Athens has two seasons for premium cabins. From late May to early September, when the North American nonstops are all flying and the islands are full, business class sells steadily from January onward; book 4–6 months ahead for June–August travel, and earlier still for the week around August 15, when Greeks head to the islands and every seat on every connection goes. Orthodox Easter (early May in 2027) and the final late-October rotations of the seasonal nonstops create two shorter spikes.

The soft months are November through March, Christmas and New Year excepted: the weather is mild, the Acropolis queue is short, and with the nonstops paused the one-stop fares via London, Paris, Frankfurt or Dubai are the cheapest of the year; 6–8 weeks is plenty of notice. September and October keep summer sea temperatures with softer pricing than July, and the Athens Marathon in early November fills hotels more than planes. Shipping keeps business travel steady year-round, so midweek fares in the shoulder months move far less than weekend ones.

Business Class to Athens: FAQs

How much are business class tickets to Athens?

As of September 2026, published business class tickets to Athens run roughly $3,800–$7,000 round trip on the summer nonstops from New York, Atlanta, Chicago and Washington, $2,800–$5,000 on winter one-stops, £700–£1,600 from London and €800–€1,800 from Paris or Frankfurt. Biirdee’s negotiated and unpublished fares price below those ranges.

Which airlines fly business class to Athens, Greece, nonstop?

Nonstop from North America, all seasonal: Delta (JFK, Atlanta, Boston), American (JFK, Chicago, Dallas) and United (Chicago, Washington Dulles), plus Air Canada from Toronto. From Europe, largely year-round: Aegean and British Airways from Heathrow, and Air France, Lufthansa, KLM, Swiss, Iberia, ITA, Austrian and SAS from their hubs, with thinner winter schedules on the northern routes. From the Gulf, Emirates from Dubai, Qatar Airways from Doha and Etihad from Abu Dhabi; Turkish Airlines adds the short hop from Istanbul.

Are there direct business class flights to Athens from New York, London or Los Angeles?

From New York, yes: Delta and American fly JFK–Athens nonstop in about 10 hours, spring through autumn. From London, yes, year-round: British Airways and Aegean fly Heathrow–Athens in about 3.5 hours. From Los Angeles, no; we see no West Coast nonstop as of September 2026, so LA and San Francisco travellers connect via JFK, Chicago, Dallas or a European hub, typically the best part of a day door to door.

How long is the flight to Athens in business class?

About 10 hours from New York, just under 10 from Boston, about 10.5 from Washington and Toronto, about 11h10 from Chicago, about 11h40 from Atlanta and about 12h45 from Dallas. From Europe it is a short hop: about 3.5 hours from London, 3 from Paris or Amsterdam, 2.5 from Zurich or Munich and under 2 from Rome. Dubai is about 4.5 hours, Doha about 4, Istanbul just over one and Shanghai about 11.

How do I find cheap business class flights to Athens, Greece?

Cheap business class flights to Athens usually pull at least two of three levers: travel between November and March, when the seasonal nonstops pause and one-stop fares drop; fly midweek, since Saturday departures carry the summer premium; and connect through a hub: a Lufthansa, Air France or KLM routing via Frankfurt, Paris or Amsterdam frequently prices below the seasonal nonstop. Biirdee’s negotiated and unpublished fares are sourced below the published price, up to 70% below retail.

What is the best business class to Athens?

For a bed, the North American nonstops: Delta One from JFK and Atlanta, American Flagship Business from JFK, Chicago and Dallas, lie-flat on the 787s that usually operate the route, United Polaris from Chicago and Washington, and Air Canada Signature Class from Toronto. From Asia or Australia, Qatar Airways via Doha (Qsuite on some flights) and Emirates via Dubai. From Europe every carrier sells a blocked-middle seat, so choose on schedule and lounge (BA or Aegean from Heathrow, Lufthansa from Frankfurt or Munich), rather than on the seat.

Are there first class flights to Athens?

No airline sells a true first class cabin on its Athens flights from the U.S., Canada or the UK; the top cabin on those routes is business. The way to fly first is on the long-haul leg (British Airways First to London, Lufthansa First to Frankfurt or Munich, or Emirates First Class into Dubai), then business for the short hop. Emirates also fits first class on some Dubai–Athens rotations. Biirdee sources first class fares on those routings below retail.
