Business class flights to Hyderabad land at Rajiv Gandhi International (HYD) at Shamshabad, roughly 20 to 25 kilometres south of the city and joined to it by the Outer Ring Road. That road is the reason the airport feels closer than the map suggests: HITEC City, Gachibowli and the Financial District — where most business travellers are actually going — are typically half an hour to forty-five minutes away outside the morning crush, while the old city around Charminar takes rather longer. The terminal is consistently one of the calmer international arrivals halls in India, which matters at the hour most of these flights get in.
From Europe the city is a straight nonstop. British Airways flies London Heathrow to Hyderabad in about 9h55m, Lufthansa runs Frankfurt in about 9h10m and KLM covers Amsterdam in about 9h30m. All three fly eastbound and most rotations land late in the evening or early in the morning, which is the reason the lie-flat seat earns its keep on this route rather than merely feeling nice — check the timings on your date, as European departures to India run anywhere from late morning to late evening.

Hyderabad sits about 500 metres up on the Deccan, which takes the edge off the heat without removing it. The comfortable stretch is late October through February — dry, warm days, cool evenings — and it is also the expensive one, because Diwali, the Indian wedding season, Sankranti in mid-January and the conference calendar all sit inside it. Add the diaspora: this is one of India’s great emigration cities, and December and January cabins out of London, Frankfurt, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the tightest of the year.
March to May is genuinely hot, often past 40°C in April and May, and the quietest premium pricing of the first half of the year — with the caveat that Indian school summer holidays push a second family-travel wave through June and early July. The southwest monsoon runs June to September as afternoon showers rather than washouts, schedules hold up, and it is the softest window overall on both the European nonstops and the Gulf connections. Bonalu in high summer and Bathukamma in the run-up to Dussehra are the city’s own festivals and lift domestic demand more than international.
Book four to six months out for anything between late October and February, and six to ten weeks is usually enough for the monsoon months.
