Business class flights to Houston land at George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), roughly 23 miles north of downtown and one of United’s largest hubs; the reason a city this size carries a long-haul network the size of a capital’s. The energy corridor and the Texas Medical Center keep those cabins full: London Heathrow is about 10h nonstop, Amsterdam and Paris about 10h30m, Frankfurt about 10h45m, Munich about 11h and Rome about 11h30m. William P. Hobby (HOU), southeast of downtown, handles short-haul and Latin American flying and sells no long-haul lie-flat seat.
Further out, the routes get long. Qatar Airways flies Doha to Houston in about 16h15m and Emirates flies Dubai in about 16h30m, while Turkish Airlines connects Istanbul in about 13h and All Nippon flies Tokyo Haneda in about 13h30m. United adds Tokyo Narita at about 13h30m, São Paulo at about 10h and a seasonal Sydney run of about 17h30m; Zipair also flies the Narita pair, selling an unbundled full-flat seat rather than a full business class product with lounge access and bags included. Rome is ITA Airways at about 11h30m, and Toronto is Air Canada and United at about 3h.
Domestically the nonstops are short and the front cabin is a recliner rather than a bed: American, Delta and United from Los Angeles in about 3h15m, United from San Francisco in about 3h45m, American and United from Chicago and Miami in about 2h15m and from Dallas/Fort Worth in about an hour, Delta and United from Atlanta in about 2h, United from Denver in about 2h15m. From New York JFK the only nonstop is JetBlue, normally a single-cabin aircraft rather than a Mint one, so confirm the cabin before booking, and low-cost carriers add economy-only capacity on several of those pairs. Airlines Flying Business Class to Houston
United Airlines
The hometown hub carrier and the only airline flying long-haul out of Houston in every direction: Polaris nonstop from London (about 10h), Frankfurt (about 10h45m), Munich (about 11h), Amsterdam (about 10h30m), Tokyo Narita (about 13h30m), São Paulo (about 10h) and, seasonally, Sydney (about 17h30m). United also flies Toronto and a long list of US cities into IAH, but those are short-haul aircraft with a domestic first recliner rather than a bed. Polaris is on every United widebody, though the newest aircraft carry a door-equipped version of the suite, so the cabin is not identical across the fleet; book the long leg first and let the connection follow.
British Airways
Heathrow to Bush Intercontinental in about 10h, and a long-standing fixture of the energy-corridor traffic between the UK and Texas. Most of BA’s longhaul fleet now flies Club Suite, with a door and direct aisle access, but a shrinking number of aircraft still carry the older non-suite Club World cabin, worth checking the seat map before you commit.
Lufthansa
Frankfurt to Houston in about 10h45m, flown head to head with United on the same pair, so there are usually two business cabins to price against each other. Lufthansa is mid-way through replacing its long-standing business seat with the Allegris cabin, so the product depends on which aircraft is rostered that day.
KLM
Amsterdam to Houston in about 10h30m, the quiet workhorse of the group and a one-stop from almost anywhere in northern Europe through Schiphol. World Business Class is lie-flat with direct aisle access on the widebodies flown here; the staggered layout means the specific seat matters more than usual, particularly if you are travelling as a pair.
Air France
Paris Charles de Gaulle to Houston in about 10h30m, and the cleanest way in from southern Europe and francophone West Africa. Air France is rolling a newer Business seat with a closing door across its widebody fleet, so the cabin you get here varies by aircraft rather than by route.
Qatar Airways
Doha to Houston in about 16h15m: one of the longest routes into Texas, and a strong single connection from the Middle East, South Asia and much of Africa. Qsuite on most rotations, with a door and a centre block that converts to a four-seat family space, though a non-Qsuite widebody appears often enough that it is worth confirming.
Emirates
Dubai to Houston in about 16h30m, the Gulf’s other nonstop into IAH and a natural gateway from the subcontinent and East Africa. The business cabin varies across Emirates’ widebody fleet (older layouts are 2-3-2 without direct aisle access from every seat, refurbished ones 1-2-1), so it is worth checking the seat map for your date.
Turkish Airlines
Istanbul to Houston in about 13h on a lie-flat widebody, with one of the widest one-stop networks on this list: the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Levant and dozens of African cities. The catering is a genuine reason to pick it; Istanbul airport is vast, so build in more than the minimum connection.

Best Time to Book Business Class to Houston
Houston’s premium calendar is set by industry rather than by holidays. CERAWeek fills downtown in the first half of March, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo runs for about three weeks across late February and March alongside it, and the Offshore Technology Conference takes over NRG Park in early May. In those weeks the European nonstops fill their business cabins early and hotel rates follow, so book four to six months ahead for any trip touching them.
The weather argues for the shoulders. Late March into early May, and October into early December, are the comfortable months: warm days, humidity that has not yet turned oppressive. June through September is hot and wet, with the Atlantic hurricane season officially running 1 June to 30 November and peaking in late August and September; July and August therefore combine top-of-range transatlantic fares with the worst air of the year. That second window, October into early December, is the sweet spot: softer fares, tolerable weather and nothing on the conference calendar.
Outside those conference weeks, two to four months of lead time is enough on the European nonstops and six to ten weeks is fine domestically. January and the first half of February are normally the softest stretch of the year into IAH. Midweek departures usually price below weekends, and because Houston is a hub rather than a spoke there is nearly always a second routing to price against the first; give us your dates and we will work both.
