Business Class Flights to Frankfurt

Fares, airlines & the best time to book, FRA

Lufthansa’s fortress hub: Germany’s best-connected gateway for lie-flat nonstops from the U.S. and Asia.

Business class flights to Frankfurt land at Frankfurt Airport (FRA), Lufthansa’s principal hub and one of Europe’s busiest connecting airports, about ten minutes by S-Bahn from the Hauptbahnhof and with its own ICE long-distance station beside Terminal 1. From the U.S., Lufthansa flies nonstop from New York JFK, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco among a dozen or so gateways; Delta and Singapore Airlines join it at JFK, United at San Francisco and from its own hubs, and Frankfurt-based Condor flies from JFK and Miami, and seasonally from Los Angeles and San Francisco. Toronto adds Air Canada, Lufthansa and Condor. Count on about 8 hours from New York or Toronto, 10 from Miami and 12 from California, every one of them lie-flat.

From Asia, Frankfurt is the best-served German gateway by a distance. Cathay Pacific flies nonstop from Hong Kong, ANA from Tokyo Haneda and Japan Airlines from Narita, Korean Air and Asiana, now merging, from Seoul, Thai Airways and Condor from Bangkok, Air China from Beijing and Shanghai and China Eastern from Shanghai, with Lufthansa alongside from Hong Kong, Haneda, Seoul and Shanghai, and Singapore Airlines nonstop from Changi: 10 to 13 hours in the air. Emirates and Qatar Airways feed it from Dubai and Doha in about six to six and a half hours, and Turkish Airlines from Istanbul in under three.

From London it is a 1h20 hop (British Airways, Lufthansa and Lufthansa City Airlines from Heathrow, Condor from Gatwick), and Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Munich are all under two hours, so expect short-haul eurobusiness: a standard seat with the middle blocked, lounge access and priority handling rather than a bed. FRA is also the door to the rest of Germany, with Lufthansa flights to Berlin and Hamburg and through-ticketed Deutsche Bahn ICE trains to Cologne, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart and beyond. Biirdee sources unpublished fares below the retail ranges listed here, in both directions.

Airlines Flying Business Class to Frankfurt

Lufthansa

Hub carrier and the default choice: nonstop from New York JFK, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Toronto; from London, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Istanbul and Dubai; and from Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo Haneda. Allegris suites are spreading through the long-haul fleet, but plenty of jets still carry the older 2-2-2 cabin; ask us which aircraft you are on.

Condor

Frankfurt’s own long-haul airline and often among the lowest published lie-flat fares across the Atlantic: nonstop from JFK, Miami, Toronto and Bangkok, seasonally from Los Angeles and San Francisco, plus short hops from Gatwick, Paris, Barcelona and Munich. Long-haul is the A330neo with a proper lie-flat seat; the European feeders are narrowbody eurobusiness.

United

Polaris nonstop from San Francisco, about 11.5 hours, with Lufthansa and Star Alliance connections at both ends. A consistent lie-flat product with a Polaris lounge at SFO; fares usually sit close to Lufthansa’s on the route, since the two sell it as a joint venture.

Delta

Delta One lie-flat from New York JFK, about 8 hours. Useful for SkyMiles flyers and Delta corporate contracts; on retail price it is rarely the cheapest of the four JFK carriers, though its sales are worth watching.

Singapore Airlines

Nonstop from Singapore in about 13 hours, and the fifth-freedom JFK–Frankfurt sector that continues to Changi: the same long-haul cabin and service on an 8-hour hop. The JFK leg is one of the best cabins on the New York run and is priced like it.

Air Canada

Signature Class nonstop from Toronto, about 8h15, in lie-flat pods on the widebody fleet, with the Signature Suite before departure at Toronto. A useful one-stop from U.S. cities via Toronto when Lufthansa is full.

Emirates

Nonstop from Dubai in about 6.5 hours, usually on the A380 with the onboard bar, and the natural one-stop from Australia, India and the Gulf. Frankfurt is one of Emirates’ biggest European stations, so there is typically more than one departure a day to choose from.

Qatar Airways

Nonstop from Doha in about 6 hours with Qsuite on many of its Frankfurt flights, and a frequent price leader from Asia, Australia and the Indian Ocean on a one-stop. Doha connections are short and the lounge is superb.

Best Time to Book Business Class to Frankfurt

Frankfurt runs on corporate demand, so business class pricing follows the trade-fair calendar rather than the beach season. Ambiente in February, the Frankfurt Book Fair in mid-October and the Christmas-market weeks from late November firm up every cabin into FRA, and the airport hotels sell out with them. Transatlantic leisure adds a second peak from mid-June to August, when Condor’s seasonal Los Angeles and San Francisco flights are operating and the July–August school holidays fill the outbound German traffic.

The soft months are late January, early November and the stretch from Boxing Day to mid-January, when neither fair-goers nor holidaymakers are flying; August is quiet for business travel, but leisure demand keeps the U.S. nonstops firm until September. Book two to four months ahead for the transatlantic nonstops and at least six weeks from Asia and the Gulf. Inside three weeks Lufthansa’s retail fares climb steeply, which is exactly where our negotiated and unpublished fares earn their keep.

Business Class to Frankfurt: FAQs

How much is business class to Frankfurt, Germany?

As of September 2026, retail round trips run about $2,800–$5,800 from the U.S. East Coast, $3,800–$7,000 from the West Coast, £500–£1,400 from London and $4,500–$9,000 from Singapore, Hong Kong or Tokyo. Biirdee’s negotiated fares typically price below those ranges.

Which airlines fly business class to Frankfurt nonstop?

Lufthansa from almost every gateway. From North America, Condor, Delta and Singapore Airlines at JFK, United at San Francisco, Condor at Miami, and Air Canada and Condor at Toronto. From Asia, Cathay Pacific, ANA, Japan Airlines, Korean Air (and Asiana, now being folded into it), Thai Airways, Air China, China Eastern and Singapore Airlines. From the Gulf and Turkey, Emirates, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines. From Europe, British Airways and Lufthansa City Airlines fly Heathrow, Condor flies Gatwick, Air France flies Paris, and KLM and Air Dolomiti fly Amsterdam: all short-haul business rather than lie-flat. T’way Air also flies Seoul–Frankfurt, but in economy only.

Is there a direct business class flight from New York to Frankfurt?

Yes. Four carriers fly JFK–Frankfurt nonstop in about 8 hours: Lufthansa, Delta (in Delta One), Condor (A330neo) and Singapore Airlines’ fifth-freedom flight, which continues on to Singapore. With that much competition on the sector, New York is usually one of the better-priced U.S. origins for Frankfurt business class, and we check it against the other East Coast gateways on every quote.

Is there a direct business class flight from London to Frankfurt?

Yes. British Airways, Lufthansa and Lufthansa City Airlines fly Heathrow–Frankfurt and Condor flies from Gatwick, about 1h20 in the air. It is short-haul business class: a standard seat with the middle blocked, lounge access and fast-track rather than a lie-flat bed, so it is best bought as the connecting leg of a longer itinerary.

How long is the flight to Frankfurt?

About 8 hours from New York or Toronto, 10 from Miami and 12 from Los Angeles or San Francisco, where Lufthansa and, from San Francisco, United fly nonstop, with Condor seasonally. From Asia, about 10 hours from Beijing, 11 from Seoul, 11.5 from Hong Kong, Shanghai or Bangkok, 12 from Tokyo and 13 from Singapore. Dubai and Doha are 6–6.5 hours, Istanbul under 3, and London, Paris and Amsterdam roughly an hour to 1h20.

What is the cheapest way to fly business class to Frankfurt?

Condor’s lie-flat A330neo from JFK, Miami, Toronto and, seasonally, Los Angeles and San Francisco often prices under the network carriers on the transatlantic run, though Lufthansa and Delta sale fares can beat it; from Asia, Air China and China Eastern tend to price under the Japanese and Korean carriers, and a Gulf one-stop on Qatar or Emirates often beats the nonstops. Fly midweek, avoid trade-fair weeks, and let Biirdee’s unpublished-fare channels price below all of these.

Can I get business class tickets to Germany beyond Frankfurt and Munich?

Yes, but the bulk of Germany’s lie-flat long-haul flying lands at Frankfurt or Munich, so for Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Düsseldorf or Stuttgart we book a long-haul business seat into FRA and connect. Lufthansa’s domestic flights reach Berlin and Hamburg in about an hour, Lufthansa and Condor link Frankfurt and Munich in under an hour, and Lufthansa sells through-tickets onto Deutsche Bahn ICE trains from the airport’s own long-distance station for Cologne, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart and beyond.
