One overnight over the Andes — you land at breakfast with the cordillera filling the window.
Business class flights to Santiago land at Arturo Merino Benítez (SCL), about 15 kilometres west of the centre and 35 to 45 minutes from Las Condes outside rush hour. From North America the trip is nonstop and almost always overnight: LATAM from Miami (about 8h30m), New York JFK (about 10h30m) and Los Angeles (about 11h30m); American from Miami on the same run and from Dallas/Fort Worth seasonally in about 10h; Delta from Atlanta in about 9h45m; United from Houston in about 9h30m and Air Canada from Toronto in about 11h, both seasonal. Most of those cabins are lie-flat — the one to check is Air Canada’s seasonal Toronto service, which has run with a recliner premium cabin in some seasons — and the overnights land early enough to work the same day.
From Europe the shortest way in is Madrid, not London: Iberia and LATAM both fly Madrid–Santiago in about 13h30m, against about 14h45m from London Heathrow on British Airways and the same from Paris on Air France. KLM covers Amsterdam in about 15h, and Turkish Airlines links Istanbul to Santiago on a single flight number that stops in São Paulo — the longest way in on one ticket, and the reason Turkish also turns up on the São Paulo–Santiago leg. Level flies Barcelona nonstop in about 14h, but its front cabin is a premium recliner rather than a lie-flat business seat, so we treat it as a premium-economy option and price it that way.
Regionally, São Paulo is the workhorse at about 3h40m on LATAM, LATAM Brasil or Turkish, though the cabin varies — a blocked-middle premium seat on the narrowbodies, a flat bed when a widebody or the Turkish aircraft is rostered — and Sky Airline flies the pair in economy only. Aeroméxico joins LATAM on Mexico City in about 8h30m. Across the Pacific, LATAM flies Melbourne and shares Sydney with Qantas: roughly 12 to 13 hours eastbound to Santiago, and appreciably longer on the way back, since the westerlies only help in one direction. From the Gulf, Asia and most of Africa the trip is one stop, usually via São Paulo, Madrid or Istanbul. We quote the published fares honestly on this page, then source below them.

The home carrier, and the reason Santiago works as a hub: nonstop from Miami (about 8h30m), New York JFK (about 10h30m), Los Angeles (about 11h30m), Mexico City (about 8h30m), Madrid (about 13h30m), São Paulo (about 3h40m), Sydney and Melbourne. The long-haul 787s and 777s carry a lie-flat Premium Business; the retrofitted aircraft give every seat direct aisle access, while the older cabins are still paired, so we check the aircraft against your dates. On the short São Paulo hop the front cabin is usually a blocked-middle premium seat rather than a bed, unless a widebody is rostered.
Flagship Business nonstop from Miami in about 8h30m — the shortest widebody run into Santiago from the United States — plus a seasonal Dallas/Fort Worth flight of about 10h. Miami is the year-round run and usually the more flexible of the two; Dallas comes and goes with the season, so check it against your dates.
Delta One from Atlanta in about 9h45m, an overnight departure that gathers feed from most of the eastern United States. Delta’s own network runs through Atlanta, so it is often the simplest single-ticket routing from the East Coast and the Southeast.
Polaris from Houston in about 9h30m, seasonal rather than year-round, so check it against your dates before you plan a routing around it. While it is flying it is the cleanest single connection from Texas and much of the U.S. Midwest.
The only nonstop from the UK: Heathrow to Santiago in about 14h45m, on the 787 with Club Suite on most of the aircraft assigned to the route. Confirm the aircraft before you commit, and expect the last business seats to price hard.
Madrid to Santiago in about 13h30m, the shortest hop from Europe, with LATAM flying the identical pair — which is why Madrid usually prices under London and Paris. Lie-flat on the A350 and A330; the older cabins are perfectly comfortable but tighter on stowage.
Paris CDG to Santiago in about 14h45m in the lie-flat Business seat, with sister carrier KLM covering Amsterdam in about 15h in World Business Class. Either is a clean single connection from anywhere in Europe, and the two shadow each other closely on price.
Istanbul to Santiago on a single flight number, routed via São Paulo — the São Paulo–Santiago leg (about 3h40m) is the same aircraft and can be bought on its own. It is the practical one-stop from the Middle East, South Asia and much of Africa, and the Istanbul lounge makes a long layover something close to pleasant.

Santiago runs on the southern calendar. December through February is the peak in every sense: school holidays from mid-December to the start of March, the Patagonia and Atacama seasons overlapping the whole window, and Chileans themselves on the move to the coast. The nonstops sell down early for those dates and the last seats price at the very top of the ranges above. The wine harvest in the Colchagua and Casablanca valleys carries the crowds into March and April, but it rarely moves the airfare.
There is a second, smaller peak in the southern winter. The ski season — Valle Nevado and La Parva about two hours from the airport, Portillo a little under three — runs from about mid-June to early October, with the Chilean winter school break in July on top of it. Then Fiestas Patrias around 18 September empties the city and fills every flight in and out for a week. Between those, our favourite months are April and May, and late October into November: clear Andes air, mild days, soft fares and noticeably cheaper hotel rates in Las Condes and Vitacura.
Book four to six months ahead for December to February and for the September holiday week, two to three months for everything else. Watch the seasonal services in particular — American from Dallas/Fort Worth, United from Houston and Air Canada from Toronto operate only part of the year, and a date outside their season changes both the routing and the price. Santiago is also a mining and finance capital, so the corporate travel days price above a midweek or Saturday departure more often than not — we price the alternatives either side of your date. Give us the dates and we will run the nonstops against the Miami, Madrid and São Paulo connections and come back with what is actually bookable.

As of September 2026, published round trips run roughly $3,800–$7,500 from Miami, $4,500–$9,000 from the U.S. East Coast, $4,800–$9,500 from Los Angeles, £3,200–£6,500 from London and €2,900–€6,000 from Madrid, Paris or Amsterdam. Biirdee’s negotiated and unpublished fares typically price below those ranges.
From North America: LATAM (Los Angeles, New York JFK, Miami and Mexico City), American (Miami year-round, Dallas/Fort Worth seasonally), Delta (Atlanta), United (Houston, seasonally) and Air Canada (Toronto, seasonally — confirm the cabin, that service has operated with a recliner premium seat rather than a lie-flat business seat). From Europe: British Airways from London Heathrow, Iberia and LATAM from Madrid, Air France from Paris and KLM from Amsterdam. Across the Pacific: LATAM from Melbourne, and LATAM and Qantas from Sydney. Turkish Airlines sells Istanbul–Santiago on one flight number, but it stops in São Paulo rather than flying the pair nonstop. Level flies Barcelona nonstop as well, but its front cabin is a premium recliner rather than a lie-flat business seat, and low-cost Sky Airline serves São Paulo in economy only.
Yes. British Airways flies Heathrow to Santiago nonstop in about 14h45m, with Club Suite on most of the 787s assigned to the route. The alternatives are all one stop — Madrid on Iberia or LATAM, Paris on Air France, Amsterdam on KLM, São Paulo on LATAM — and a connection is always worth pricing against the nonstop.
Yes, both on LATAM: JFK to Santiago in about 10h30m and Los Angeles in about 11h30m, each an overnight in a lie-flat Premium Business seat. Neither city has a second nonstop, so if that cabin is full the routing becomes a connection through Miami on American or LATAM, Atlanta on Delta, or Houston on United while its seasonal service is running.
Nonstop it is about 8h30m from Miami, 9h45m from Atlanta, 10h30m from New York JFK and 11h30m from Los Angeles; about 13h30m from Madrid, 14h45m from London and Paris, and 15h from Amsterdam. Sydney is roughly 12 to 13 hours eastbound to Santiago and longer westbound, and São Paulo is the short one at about 3h40m. Southbound flights from North America and Europe are overnight and land in the morning.
Travel in the shoulder months — April and May, or late October into November — depart midweek, and start from Miami or Madrid, the two shortest long-haul runs into Santiago and the two most competitive. From Europe, price a stop in Madrid or São Paulo against the nonstop before you commit. The larger saving is the fare type rather than the routing: we book negotiated and unpublished business class fares that never appear on the public sites.
For the seat, LATAM’s Premium Business on the retrofitted 787s and 777s and British Airways’ Club Suite out of Heathrow are the strongest cabins on the route, with Delta One from Atlanta close behind. For the least time in the air, American or LATAM from Miami at about 8h30m. For value out of Europe, Iberia from Madrid, where the flight is over an hour shorter than London or Paris and LATAM on the same pair keeps the fares in check.
